  • This is the one you never see reviews about. And maybe there's a reason why.
    I know this video is almost 40 minutes and WAY too long. I will be eventually put out an edited version. I tried to hard to cover everything about this model and how to use it, but I rambled way too much.
    If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

    You can wash and spin dry at the same time. If you close the lid it won't splash out. If you put In bathtub you won't have to clean up water. And you can use a shower head to fill instead of heavy buckets.

    • @LifewithPhil_1968
      @LifewithPhil_1968  Рік тому +5

      I was recommended not to do them at the same time so as to not over work the machine. But I can try it. I think I mentioned somewhere that I will be using it in the bathtub. The amount of water on the floor caused by the over spillage really isn't that much. Like... less than a quarter of a cup. But I will still be using it in the bathtub. However, I don't have a removable shower head unfortunately, but I'm planning to get one. I was going to get a larger hose for the sink, but I might just get a removable shower head ... I've wanted one for a long time regardless. :D
      Thanks for watching and commenting by the way. Cheers!

    I just purchased the 26 lb version almost 2 weeks ago and I think it's incredible. It's 18 pounds in the washing compartment and 8 pounds in the spinner. You can do wayyyyyy more clothes than that. It holds a lot comfortably. Put it in the tub and use a detatchable shower head to fill it up for the wash and rinse cycle. I used the bucked method the first time, and never again, lol. Close the lid and it shouldn't splash out unless yours has a small crack somewhere. Use a little less detergent next time. You had a ton of suds. I promise you, the more you use it, the faster you'll get. Also, you can pump fresh water in the spin area as you're spinning. That's what the inlet is for, just don't drain at the same time. My Costway/Giantex say's NOT TO RUN THE SPINNER while it's draining so I never do it either, although in a lot of UA-cam videos people are spinning and draining. Paid $190 US and I feel like I already got my money's worth.

      If I don't drain while spinning, the spin bucket gets flooded?

    • @derekwebster8442
      @derekwebster8442 11 місяців тому +3

      @@joltjolt5060 NO! The water still comes out without using the drain feature. I turn to drain after I'm done spinning. That's what my washer says to do. Draining the wash compartment while spin drying is also a major no-no.

    • @LifewithPhil_1968
      @LifewithPhil_1968  10 місяців тому +2

      @@derekwebster8442 Yes, absolutely correct! In fact, the spin cycle on mine already starts draining. You don't have to switch to drain while it's spinning. The "drain" cycle on the dial is for draining the wash tub only. When I turn on the spinner, I leave the dial on "standard" and the machine will automatically drain any liquid coming from the spinner.

      Thank you so much. I might do an update video in a few months after I've given it about 6 months of use. It's holding up fairly well.... maybe some concerns with the pump, but otherwise it's doing great. I actually do it in the washroom now so I can drain it directly right into the bathtub. (I had to buy a removable shower head to fill the washer). Thank you again... I feel like my place looks so cluttered. LOL

    I like your video. Your demo was great and informative. The machine seems good for t-shirts, undies, small hand towels and pj's and maybe a pair of joggers. My bank has a 2 roll of quarters limit ... 🤔you'd think they were making the quarters themselves. I need a portable washer, looking at the tube videos helps me to make a decision.
    Good luck. 👍🏻

      Thank you so much. Yes, all those items it's definitely good for, but just can't do large loads. I can even still do a couple of bath towels and even a bed sheet. I like this machine because it's slightly bigger than the one that's most commonly reviewed, but there is still one or two models larger (but I've ever seen them reviewed). I recommend also going to Amazon, look at the different models listed, and read through the reviews.
      I hope you find one that suits your needs... and saves you quarters! LOL Cheers!

    I wish they had these when I was living in a skyrise apartment building, I was on the 20th floor and the laundry room was all the way down to the basement. I am glad to see this newer version has a pump to drain the water. With previous models so many were putting their machine in the bathtub and that honestly scared me having the electrical cord possibly touching water. Great review.

    I got the one without the pump plus I bought a better hose to hook up to faucet. Then I bought a dolly with wheels which I was able to push it out of the way. I’m able to put the drainage hose into my walk in shower and so far it’s been going great. I also start the machine add soap then put the clothes in then I know how much it can take. 40 minutes to wash 1 load

      After I made this video, I bought a hose extension for the sink, but I also bought a removable shower head, so now I just do it in the bathroom. I was thinking about getting wheels, but it's so light I can just lift it and move it.
      I think my machine pump is slowly losing its pressure so I might have to eventually get something to raise it so I can drain it over the tub.
      Lately I started adding the soap after I start the machine.

      Thank you so much. They don't seem to have names for the sizes. There is a model number (it's the big red number on the box at the very start of my video) but when you do a search on Amazon, you won't find it by the model number. If you're looking on Amazon, the one I have is the only one with the grey bottom. It comes with either a blue or dark grey lids on the top. From what I have found, the one I have is the 2nd largest in the Costway line. I've only seen one Twin Tub that is bigger than mine. But really, when it comes down to it, they hold pretty close to the same amount.

  • @donnamaco1

    Does the machine continue to splash even if the lid is closed?

    • @LifewithPhil_1968
      @LifewithPhil_1968  10 місяців тому

      It does unfortunately. The lid doesn't make a seal so the spinning motion throws the water up the side and goes over the edge. But the water is also is going under the plastic lip that goes around the edge. Fortunately there isn't that much. By the time it's done, the amount of water splashed is less than a quarter cup.

      @LifewithPhil_1968  10 місяців тому +1

      Do you have the same model as mine? Mine is a bit tricky and in fact it threw me off for a bit. Mine is the first one of the Costway line that doesn't have a cloth filter (although it probably should have). There's a little flat bendable piece at the top of the filter put push down on so it pops out. But putting it back in was frustrating because it "snapped" in place but would come out when I ran the wash. I found out later I have to push it in further until it "snaps in" a 2nd time. Let me know if that helps. Maybe I'll do a little video short to show.

      Thank you. When I looked on Amazon SOME of them will list the RPM but not all. I would try contacting the company and ask. Costway is usually pretty good for getting back with info like that. Regarding wheels, the majority of them don't. I've never seen a twin tub that has them. But they are quite light. When it's empty it's so easy to lift. But filled with water, I don't think lifting it would be safe. I've heard a lot of people just getting a dolly.
