As a former catholic that b roll was definitely a catholic church. My only guess is that the Mormon churches wouldn't let the crew come in to film and hulu figured no one would know the difference.
That's a good theory. My personal theory is that they filmed Catholic churches for that 'beautiful peaceful church aesthetic', because if you've been inside a typical Mormon ward (aka the 'normal' Mormon churches where they go every Sunday), they're very drab and boring in all honesty. One Mormon friend told me that that's because they don't believe in vanity, that it's vain and shallow to make God's house all pretty and fancy with stained glass windows or whatever. Which is rich considering all the Mormon temples (which I've never seen the inside of, but the outside is gorgeous enough!) that they have! XD
Yes! Got pregnant before getting married. My bishop told me the only reason I wasn't getting excommunicated was because we we had a wedding date. If a man and woman who are sealed to each other and file for divorce the woman gets a temple cancellation and man gets a clearance to marry another woman. So if the first wife re-marries in the temple and breaks her sealing then the man is no longer sealed to 2 women
According to my Mormon mom women have more power than men ( not true) she says the women’s power is so incredibly sacred that it isn’t spoken about in order to protect the women from Satan. My mom also claims to have visions and use the power of the priesthood to cast demons away… when I tell her that what she is saying isn’t corroborated by the church she reverts back to the whole secrecy and sacred ness bullshit. 🤷🏻♀️
I've heard people are more relaxed and less judgemental in other states when Mormon. I feel most of Utah is not that relaxed. I grew up in Clinton, Ut, and still live here, and they are pretty judgemental and strict. I went to church when I was younger but not active. I want my name off the rolls lol. Swinging is actually really big in Utah. I'm not surprised to see that on the show. Also, marriages with porn addiction (2nd episode, i think) are huge (I see it in my line of work). I found a lot of the stuff in the show like crosses, etc. was not a true representation of the church, haha....weird they mixed that in with mormonism. Everyone here has botox in their face and is addicted to soda...yes that's 100% accurate 😂.
I wonder if the people who leave any religion are the people who took it seriously and played by the book. Basically, they are very obedient and docile people, and then they get burned out from the inability to check off all the boxes because it is unnatural to follow so many rules. And the second train of thought, I wonder if the people who stay are the people who break the rules of the law. People who are okay with being naughty or disobedient in a very discrete way, and that's why they stay.
There is a lot of merit to this backed by research. Usually the ones who leave are the ones who did the most research and broke under the pressure and shame to be perfect. The ones who happily stay don’t tend to internalize the doctrine, aren’t as serious about the rules and/or don’t care about the shortcomings, problematic history or truth claims the religion makes.
I’m a mormon Latter Day Saint and I love my church. It brings me closer to Christ and I love him and want to be like him. There are people in all religions who choose to live differently than they are taught in their church. There are many wonderful people of all religions. My experience in church has not been like portrayed on this UA-cam channel.😊
As a Christian, and views LDS as a cult because it falls out of orthodoxy, this is fascinating. Sexual purity is still important. But no where in the Bible does it say it’s equal to murder. In the old testament it was a blood punishable offence. Yet there was always “loopholes” and not all offences were punished. This is the difference between grace based religion, and works based religion. Orthodox Christianity believes we can be forgiven all sin. Period. LDS has rule after rule to control you. Jesus has harsh words for religious leaders like this. The Pharisees. They enslave the people.
Ok Girls! Get ready because when Oaks takes over, it’s alllll gonna change! All hail our grrrrracious saviour! Grrrraaaamen! 🦖❤
Curious if anyone else thinks the Mormon church has a hand in this Hulu show… Covert missionary work… And possibly the girls don't even know that that's what they're doing
And they'll never excommunicate six and seven figure tithe paying members no matter what they do... but rather ride the coattails and collect new members by of their influence
Nailed it. The church made 2k off of Whitney’s sex toy promo 😂
This was skipping really badly for me, like cutting n and out when Shelise was speaking :| that's okay, I'll check back n try again later cuz I'm interested
I need to know what you all think about Zac and Jen!
I'm like a curious cat! How widespread was this problem
If you haven’t seen Jury Duty the series, you need to. Soaking (sort-of) is an event in one of the episodes!
@18:07- they should just call it polygamy 🙃
You’d be surprised how many non-Mormons know about Mormon magic underwear
Swinging is not at all normal or healthy for a relationship in my opinion. Whether you are religious or not.
If a man and woman who are sealed to each other and file for divorce the woman gets a temple cancellation and man gets a clearance to marry another woman. So if the first wife re-marries in the temple and breaks her sealing then the man is no longer sealed to 2 women
What if a woman had a prophetic vision?
As if God would give a holy vision to a mere woman!
That would be preposterous!
No, just kidding. 😄
😮😮😮😮
According to my Mormon mom women have more power than men ( not true) she says the women’s power is so incredibly sacred that it isn’t spoken about in order to protect the women from Satan. My mom also claims to have visions and use the power of the priesthood to cast demons away… when I tell her that what she is saying isn’t corroborated by the church she reverts back to the whole secrecy and sacred ness bullshit. 🤷🏻♀️
@@christinabraun5310 What? 😅
You both look so beautiful! Love to see you two together
I guess it really depends on the area! Thanks for sharing!
name a better duo…I’ll wait
My experience in church has not been like portrayed on this UA-cam channel.😊
i love you two inspiring soulwarming strong queens
As a Christian, and views LDS as a cult because it falls out of orthodoxy, this is fascinating. Sexual purity is still important. But no where in the Bible does it say it’s equal to murder. In the old testament it was a blood punishable offence. Yet there was always “loopholes” and not all offences were punished. This is the difference between grace based religion, and works based religion. Orthodox Christianity believes we can be forgiven all sin. Period. LDS has rule after rule to control you. Jesus has harsh words for religious leaders like this. The Pharisees. They enslave the people.
Do you think these women’s bishops will ever find out?
Ok Girls! Get ready because when Oaks takes over, it’s alllll gonna change!
He sent out a “Repentance and Church Membership Councils” training to all the Bishops/SP’s to start having the disciplinary counsels again!
Gen Z’s are about to see what it’s like living under the rule of a strict leader again.
Gettin the🍿ready!
Aayyyyy! Lol I don’t envy people who are about to feel the crack down
i love yall together
They are not allowed to swing. That will get you kicked out of the LDS church.
That’s what we are waiting to find out. How long before it happens
Soooo there was rumors going around that bonnie, ellie, and julie famous family vlogers that are mormon swung. I was skeptical but I believe it 100%
What is b roll?
Normally the footage that you see when there is a voice over on a show or in a movie.
