@@Cardboardbocs They weren't friends they were criminals that knew each other. The guy driving is his friend, and I guarantee if anyone asked him to off that dude they'd regret it. He's definitely a stand up guy in the criminal sense of the phrase.
It just seems like that's how they do it outside the US. We'll beat a series into the ground. Look at the UK version of The Office, Sherlock, etc. They have just a few great seasons (series) and move on. Honestly, it's probably a better approach, but is hard to swallow when you're used to more.
The man who wrote the show and who also plays the main character Ray, said that playing Ray took an emotional toll on him and he didn't want to keep on with it.

It would just be more of the same. Whivh woukd have been fine with most of US, lol, but apparently not with him. Hey, it was his baby and its his life, so more power to him.
Another thing too they couldnt get any funding after season 2, the pandemic secured the 3rd season, if it hadn't been for that we'd be stuck with 2 seasons.

No. It's a great series because it didn't drag on for longer than it needed to be. It has just the right length if it makes you crave for more without being rushed or unsatisfying.
It'll probably happen eventually, they parked the series perfectly for it to be revived very easily. Scott Ryan was tired of doing Ray and had no more ideas. Art's like that. 🤷🏻♂️
Ray doesn't care less about the people he's killed. And that's how hitmen who have killed 100s in real life would be also. Killing means nothing to them. It's only said here to make Ray seem more human for the show.

Chris Paltrow comes to mind from The Wire, one of the coldest killers with the largest body count yet showing plenty of empathy and taking no pleasure in it. Only time him and Ray ever give off emotions it offing peados. 99% of the time these type of ppl. simply do a job that exists inside the criminal world because they can live with it, but the decision who to off is not theirs.
