For everyone confused about the count, chain 47+3. It worked for me

Thanks so much. I heard her say what sounded like make 27 chains then add 3. Once I did this I noticed hers looks much bigger so I went back to the beginning and turned on closed captions and it also said 27 chains. I then tried to count what she was doing but that didn't work so I came looking to see if anyone had asked for clarification and found this. Thanks

I tried this and when I counted my first round I had 100. This included the chain 3 and increases. Is that how you counted? Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
@@lindseygarner2132 when you complete round one you should have 96 stitches. I did it 3 times to be sure.

For anyone wanting to try this one, go for it! Don’t let it intimidate you, I started it w the mindset of “it’ll become another unfinished project” but all I have left to finish is the handles. I feel immensely proud of it since it has only taken me 2 days. I’m already planning to wear it everywhere. It is big though I’ll say that, but it’s great for me to put my sketchbook in etc. I do advise to write down the number patterns since she only goes through it once for half of it and if u don’t acknowledge them there will be a lot of mistakes you’ll make for the other half of it. Hey, from video time 16:20 I do not quite understand it if someone could help me that would be really wonderful!!! Do I have to crochet 6th double chrochet in every middle stitch now? For one round and then finish the find? Then in each middle stitch 8 double chrochet, end the round and repeat that once? Or two rounds of 6 double chrochet in each middle stitch and then the same twice with 8? I am confused!

It's a beautiful bag, but with all the respect in the world, how do you end op with 46 stiches at the beginning? I have started, restarted and started again, it doesn't give me 46 stiches. I start and follow along exactly the same 27+3, so what am i doing wrong?
Same! I'm pretty sure her starter for the video was longer. Or maybe she edited portions of more than one bag, she may have done, together.. but I'm just going to ignore the length count she uses and go with it. Based on a 27 starter chain, this count should be 26.

😍 this bag is sooo pretty, I’m gonna make two 🤭 I started doing it the second I saw the tutorial and for the life of me I can’t understand how to get to 46 DC on the third row 🤷🏻♀️ I already tried 3 times and I still end up with 26 DC, if I start with a chain of 27. Is this OK? What am I doing wrong?

Same. I counted her dc’s in a screen shot and she looks to be starting with more than the 27 chains she says. I had sixteen less consistently each round end, so I pulled it all out for a third time and increased my chain to 42 (then the three chains for first dc) hopefully this will get me to the same number of stitches, lol🤞🏼
@@CNickiS2 yes I think the mistake is hers because I decided to ignore the stitch count number she was saying and it turned out in the end to be ok. English is not her native tongue so there may be some confusion there
I am SO happy to read your comments! 🤩 I have started 4 times, and every time it went wrong.. the 4 th time, I tried with 37 , thinking maybe she said wrong (when she said 27) but still it was wrong. But I didn’t think to just ignore the stitch count, so thank you! 👍🏻 now I will start again. my 5 th attempt, and hopfully get it right.🤩 I don’t think it has something to do with that english is not her first language, she clearly says 27. I say wrong things all the time, so maybe she just thought/said wrong number. English is not my first language, I am norwegian. Good luck, and happy crocheting. 🤩🇳🇴
@@sivosav Disappointing update on my progress. I abandoned the project it just wasn't working for me. I found the video hard to follow and would have preferred a written pattern. And such a pretty purse! Hope you have better success.
@@deborahborne4861 i do, i startet with 42 chain, and the 3 more as a double crochet, and i am soon ready for the pattern. So it worked to disregard the stich count so far. I found the video easier and easier to follow/understand, the more times i played it. So you should just have one more go, it was easy (so far). 🙂

She said she used 5 balls and each one had 120 yards = 600 yards. Since she’s using a smaller hook, there shouldn’t be as much stretch to it. You could also line it in a pretty complimentary/contrast colour to reinforce.
I really need to ask you a question because I just don't understand. In America we go by the length of the yarn. For example, I might need 150 meters to make something. You and others in Turkey, Russia, and other countries say you need grams of yarn. What if you are using 50 grams for something but I want to use a different kind of yarn. Fifty grams in a different bigger yarn might not be enough. How do you know you have enough grams of yarn if you don't know how long the yarn is?
Hello MultiCatster! I’m from the States. This may be an option for you. I learned to purchase more skeins then I think I need. That way I’m never worried about running out. If you save the receipt most places, depending on their return policy, will let you return any whole unused skeins.
The yarn that Sirin used has 120 yards per skein. She used 5 skeins. Multiply 120 x 5 = 600 yards. So what I do to figure out how much yarn to buy is divide 600 to yardage on band of chosen yarn. I purchased Lily Sugar n Cream supersize which has 190 yards. 600÷190= 3.157 skeins. For this project I rounded up to 4 balls. Hope this helps.

I am fine until the point where you leave us to it, saying you just repeat rows. But they start in a different place so I don’t know what I’m doing any more. So frustrated because I love the look of it so far.
Ignore me. I figured it out and by the time I got to the second handle I had the pattern nailed, haha.
