I just finished making this bag, and it came out beautiful! I used a 3.0mm hook and just about 200g of weight 4 acrylic yarn. I faced some issues in row 5 and 24, here's how I fixed it: Row 5- if you have an extra stitch after completing the 1dc 1dc 1dc 2dc (V), place one double crochet there (so it’ll be like you’re doing 16 DC). Do the same for the other side. Do row 23 as shown in the video, but for row 24- chain 3, DC1 into the space, Ch1, DC2 into the same space. Continue with the repeating pattern in the next spaces. In the last space, place only 2 DC.
I think for the confusion around row 24/25: it’s decreased by half a set of stitches on each side (so 2 dc give or take the ch in between). I think the reason why it looks like row 24 was completed with a full set of 2 dc + 1 ch + 2 dc is bc when you look closely, it’s actually row 23 because the row below it doesn’t have an edge (i.e., it’s a row worked in the round). It’s hard to tell bc the crocheting style covers the stitches below, but at 34:35 you can count 2 rows of stitches that are not worked in the round
Hi ViVi, thank you so much for all the beautiful bag patterns on your channel. I received a lot of compliments from my friends and family members on the bags I made using your tutorials, including this one. This tutorial particularly might be confusing for some people, especially in row 5 and row 23 onwards. Therefore, I hope I could help clarify some of the steps in row 5 and 23. *1. Row 5:* I saw in the comments that some of you said that there's an extra stitch after you repeated the 1dc 1dc 1dc 2dc. I was also confused, but then if you watch closely, you can see that at 20:28, after she removed the stitch marker and completed the final 2dc, she did 1dc in the next (extra) stitch. The other side is the same, you can see it at 21:54. *2. Row 23 onwards:* (I'm not sure if this is how Vivi did it, but this is how I did it, and it worked for me.) If you are like me, then there are 29 (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) combinations, which is an odd number. To do row 23, like Vivi said, we divide the bag into 2 parts i.e. 14.5 combinations on each side. Row 23: Now I will demonstrate how you do each side, first you do 14 (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) combinations on 14 spaces as instructed at 30:01. Then, in the next space (i.e. the 15th space), *you only do 2dc in the 15th space* (this is the "0.5 combination".). This is the end of row 23. Row 24: To get on row 24, you do 3ch, twist, then do the (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in the next space. Vivi demonstrated it at 33:36 (please disregard the row no. in the video). You repeat the (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) until you reach the last space. Then, in this last space, you only do 2dc (as instructed at 33:21). This is the end of row 24. Row 25: To get on row 25, you do 3ch, twist, then do the (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in the following spaces. In the last space, do 2dc. Row 26: 3ch, twist, (2dc, 1ch, 2dc) in the following spaces, 2dc in the last space. Repeat this process until you reach 37:59. The instruction is clear from this point. Then, you repeat the same on the other side. I hope this helps :D
Hallo vivi, what a nice bag. I tried to make the bag but had difficulty repeating the pattern in row 6, can you explain the formula for pattern row 6? Thankyou
I really enjoyed making this tote bag...but i think somewhere between Row 25 and 26 is the confusion. i tried to remedy it from there....Thanks for sharing
Hi Vivi.. I try to finish the bag but I can´t , I don´t understand how doit from 23 round until the 28, may be you edited diferent, would you please explain again?, thanks for the answer..
awesome video! ive been following along exactly and it's been turning out good. I'm on the 7th row right now and my stitches are turning out very ruffley instead of laying flat like in the video. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've restarted the row a couple times to make sure I'm doing it right, but it's still wavy. Thanks!
This is my honest review of this video: The pattern looks lovely, and the first thirty minutes of the video explain each step sufficiently! After thirty minutes, however, the steps become a little blurred. There are missing rounds that get lost in the video somehow. After redoing rounds 23-28 three times, I figured out how many rounds I actually needed to continue before having the correct number of stitches for the strap. I used a 3.5mm hook and a 3-weight cotton yarn. The bag came out larger than expected and was not flattering in how it rested on my shoulder, which is my mistake. I wanted so badly to be satisfied with the end product, but I was not. Before beginning a project like this one, I will actually take the time to select my yarn weight and hook size properly. Skipping this step can lead to a disappointing outcome! ViVi crochets beautifully and her bag turned out gorgeous, and I'm sure the correct yarn and hook will lead you to do the same! All we need is a little more clarity of what actually happens between round 23 and the end product.
omg i thought i was the only one who noticed!! I was having a hard time from round 23 onwards cuz the video somehow didn't match my work so there really was some missing steps! i guess ill have to work my way around it T_T
Thanks for the long comment. I am very appreciated so much and so sorry about it. I saw the video again and I think I'm wrong that I did not tell that row 29 until last row ( before strap making) just do the same pattern as row 28 (reduce stitch as well) . so sorry I did'n demonstrate all row of it because it's the same pattern.
Podrías paso por paso describirnos desde la fila 22 hasta antes de llegar al hombro y decirme cuantas vueltas más son después de la vuelta 28? No puedo terminar. Solo llegué a la vuelta 22. Ya lo hice tres veces y lo he desbaratado tres veces y ya ni pude terminar mi bolsa😩. Gracias!!!!
The stitches after the 26th row are wrong, there is a big difference in her bag before and after that which she has conveniently skipped/ redone without telling. So be careful in that part or else the whole bag will go wrong.

Isn't end of row 25 supposed to be on the beginning of row 24? Why are they having different stitches? Starting of row 24 is the chain of 3 and 2dc on next space, but end of row 25 on your project seems to be on a full 2dc-1ch-2dc set, where does it come from?? I'm so confused, help me please!
Hi Vivi, everything went smoothly until Row 5. Can't seem to figure out why there's an extra stitch after completing the 1dc 1dc 1dc 2dc (V) repeat for the first semicircle. I undid the yarn and started from scratch multiple times but still ended up getting stuck at Row 5. Row 4 has 34 stitches on both ends with 15 on each side. Would appreciate if you can advise and guide me through so that I can progress on to complete this beautiful bag that you have made and shared. Looking forward to your kind reply. Thank you! 🙏🏻🥰
If you look closely in the video, in row 5, she did 1dc in the last (extra) stitch after completing the 1dc 1dc 1dc 2dc. I was also stuck here, but then I watched *really* closely and I figured it out what she did. I am, however, now stuck in row 23. I have no idea how to divide the bag into 2 parts.
Iam having a problem in row 24. In yr video the beginning of row 24 is chain 3 and 2 dc in the next space and 2dc ch1 2dc in the next space and repeat, but while ending row 25 I notice yr bag has 2dc ch1 2dc how is it?? Repeatedly I saw the video it is the same can u clear it pls??
I'm having this same problem and am unsure of how to fix it. The start of row 24 looks different than it looks at the end of 25. Vivi, can you write down how you fixed this?
I'm warning cause I've seen several comments from people with the same problems. It becomes hard to follow after row 23, and by then you've already done half of the work. It can get really frustrating, but just keep going (and maybe improvise according to what seems to fit).

Hi! Does anyone know why do i need so much yarn to complete the bag? I used almost 3 yarns of 4mm macrame thread. I assume its because of the dense pattern, but anyways i think its too much used yarn 🤷♀️
I am confused. At the end of row 23, ch 3, twist, 2 dc to begin row 24. When I come back at the end of row 25 you show 2dc, ch1, 2 dc where I only have a ch 3 and 2 dc to insert 2 dc in. What am I doing wrong? My rows do not look the same on both ends. They look uneven.
I have gone back and counted stitches and I can't see where I missed any but I came out with 29 also. How many should there be? 28? 30? It needs to be an even number. Make it make sense, please.
I'm going to slip stitch over the extra v-shell in the middle on one side leaving me with an even number and try to go from there. It'll look a little different on one side than the other but I think adding a chain loop on one side and a toggle button on the other should should make it look like it was meant to be that way. Wish me luck!
Hi Vivi Im in awe of all your creations especially this one. However, im stuck in row 23. Can u please tell the total number of DC, CH, from row 23 to 28? Thank u and hope to see more of your videos.

😢 That's right. me too. I felt something was wrong, even though I checked many times, but still tried to follow the video. When I finished 95% of the bag, I decided to take it all apart and remake it by my way. (Row 5 in the video she crocheted 116 stitches, not 114 as she notes in the subtitles 😢
Hi Vivi🌹, words fail me. Your bag tutorials are the best on UA-cam. 👍The bag turned out beautifully. 😍 I will chrochet it too. I have made many of your bags and they all turned out very very nicely. Thanks for the sharing and greetings from Germany. 🙋♀️
Hello! At the beginning of row 24 it was ch3 and 2dc in the space then at the end of row 25 there are 3dc showing. Did I miss anything or could you clarify row 24 - end of 25 please .
Hi, can someone tell me how many V stitch you have at the end of row 22? It feels like my bag look a little off and when I do the decreasing stitch, it doesn’t look like the video show. 😅
Hey, I love this bag and wanted to make it longer for it to be more of a tote bag. How many more chains would I have to add the beginning? Or what would by beginning chain have to be a multiple of?
Hi.. I have successfully crochet this bag yeay!!! Its very cute. I used 2.5mm milk cotton (used 3 and half yarn of 50grams yarn) and size 8 needle, because that is what I had. Still turned out beautiful... Will try other pattern soon. Thank you so much for sharing this

@@zhongirdinamohdnoor9377 I used 100% acrylic pony 4ply yarn by 4seasons 😊
Row 5 is correct. total: 116. It may seem inequal, but just continue all the way to row 6, and everything will add up corectly.
This is the second bag I learned from you. Another beautiful creation. Thank you so much! Looking for my next procject.

Thank you for this , I made my first crochet bag and this was so helpful. I love my bag ! 😊
You're welcome☺
This is beautiful. Can you tell me what the stitch multiples are? I am considering making it in a larger size. Thank you.
It’s my first bag to ever crochet
I love it so much 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much..I'm going to crochet this..this is beautiful and so versatile!
You're welcome and Thank you so much. Hope It's helpful. Enjoy!! 💖❤🥰
Hi vivi, i am doing row 5 now, i have 2 extra stitches. Can you pls advice. Tq
Sợi bạn sử dụng là sợi macrame phải ko
How lovely, And the handle is very nice too. I'm doing this.
Thank you so much I did make from Turkey
You're welcome and Thanks much 🥰💖
Herzlichen Dank für die sehr gute Anleitung, meine Tasche ist toll geworden.❤
I’m having the same problem.
i’ve just finished my project i love it so much thank you for this tutorial and for the explanation in the description box!
Que bonita
Muchísimas gracias 😻😻😻
love all your fantastic work soo sooo talented well done bless you 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍❤❤❤❤
Thank you so so much, Sue 🥰🥰
Beautiful bag ❤ I tried crochet it but I get 29 elements... I counted it several times. It's all right. What is my mistake?
Um, hard to find out , I am confident that your work still look so good, don't worries about it. It's handmade.😊
I have gone back and counted stitches and I can't see where I missed any but I came out with 29 also. How many should there be? 28? 30? It needs to be an even number. Make it make sense, please.
@@fmd030669 something is not shown on the video. It should be an even number of stitches. I don't know how make an increase, cuz it would be wrong.
I'm going to slip stitch over the extra v-shell in the middle on one side leaving me with an even number and try to go from there. It'll look a little different on one side than the other but I think adding a chain loop on one side and a toggle button on the other should should make it look like it was meant to be that way. Wish me luck!
@@fmd030669 Good Luck🍀
Hi Vivi
Im in awe of all your creations especially this one. However, im stuck in row 23. Can u please tell the total number of DC, CH, from row 23 to 28?
Thank u and hope to see more of your videos.
Je suis comme vous,je ne comprends pas , à partir du 23 🤔
Hello vivi.I'm loving this bag but I can't find any 2mm soft macrame cord to use.I don't know where you are but I'm in Australia.Thank you for such great tutorials. And beautiful bags.💜
Fall in love with this design ❤
супер склассный сумка👍👍👍
Thank you very much 💖🥰
only There is some mistake in your video after 24th line, I do not understand how many crochets should be reduced from both sides, plz suggest.
That's right...confusing
Just follow the instruction, it will reduce automatically, if im not wrong
The beginning of the 24th row doesn't match up with the end of the 25th row.
@@elizabethgarcia4065yes you are correct
I either confuse from the 24th row
Lovely !! Just looking at your beautiful work is so inspiring! I will have to make one too. Such a wonderful tutorial. Thanks, so much!
Thank you🥰 Enjoy!!💖💝
Hi plz tell pattern from row 24 to 27 I m confused
Bonjour
J’ai un fil DMC NOVA VITA 4 de 2,5mm à travailler avec un crochet 4. Puis je suivre le tuto sans modifications ? Merci
Ich mag deine Videos. Keine unnötige Erklärungen. Material wird vorgestellt und dann gleich gearbeitet
Vielen Dank 🤩
Can you please tell me how many shells there are supposed to be in row 8-22? I have 29 and it doesn’t seem right.
I will chrochet it too.
I have made many of your bags and they all turned out very very nicely.
Thanks for the sharing and greetings from Germany. 🙋♀️
I am very happy to hearing from you again. Thank you so much, dear 💖❤🧡🥰
Hello! At the beginning of row 24 it was ch3 and 2dc in the space then at the end of row 25 there are 3dc showing. Did I miss anything or could you clarify row 24 - end of 25 please .
I have the same issue.. after raw 25 something doesn't match :( it's unclear if we need to do 2 dc 1ch 2dc and 3ch at the end of each row.. :(
hello
i m making the bag right now and i have the same problem at row 24 and 25
what did you do?
you finished row 25 between 2dc and 3space ? 😭
When you come to end of the 24.row (33:21) jump at 35:35 to see how it ends
Hi, can someone tell me how many V stitch you have at the end of row 22? It feels like my bag look a little off and when I do the decreasing stitch, it doesn’t look like the video show. 😅
Hey, I love this bag and wanted to make it longer for it to be more of a tote bag. How many more chains would I have to add the beginning? Or what would by beginning chain have to be a multiple of?
처음에 31코로 시작해보세요.
Terima kasih, saya baru saja merajut model ini dan itu sangat cantik ❤️
Habis berapa gulung ka?
Hi! This bag looks beautiful. I see that you put a (V) behind some double crochet. May I know what does the (V) means please?
Is the full written patten somewhere? You said repeat row 6 when we started with a chain 3 so what exactly is the repeat?
드디어 완성했습니다! 가방이 생각보다 더 예뻐요.
더 크게 만들고 싶으면 시작 사슬을 31코로 하면 맞습니다. ch31→128코가 되고 패턴 32개가 됩니다.
Vivi, thank u♡
시작31코로 했을 때 실이 얼마나 더 드나요? 2밀리실과 바늘 3밀리로 뜨셨나요
hi i have question i am in row 10 but its not striaght its like wavy is that normal or did i do something wrong?
hi! is it possible to have it wider than 21 cm? how many stitches should I add and in which row? thank you sm in advance 😭
Hi.. I have successfully crochet this bag yeay!!! Its very cute. I used 2.5mm milk cotton (used 3 and half yarn of 50grams yarn) and size 8 needle, because that is what I had. Still turned out beautiful... Will try other pattern soon. Thank you so much for sharing this
I used cotton yarn too but mine isnt flat, kinda wavy. But still doing it. Hope it turns out nice.
Vivi than you so much, this bag is amazing 👏 😍
You explain so good and I can understand everything.
I will make it!
I like your job.
Comigo deu errado. Deu 29 conchas no final e estou sem saber a alça. Sua alça deu certo?
I did not tell that how to do row 29 until last row ( before strap making) just do the same pattern as row 28 (reduce stitch as well). Please see the detail in description. Thank you💖
Could you pls help to list the steps from row 28 till strap rows? I tried to reduce and it turned out odd looking. Thanks
Vivi, could you repost these last rows? I saw them in the description but I cannot find them anymore. Many thanks! I'm almost done ☺
@viviberricrochet Thank you!! The bag is amazing so far, almost done. Thank you!!
