      Is it possible for you, or someone in this thread, to tell me how I would continue this? The oval came out perfectly but it is not a big enough base for the purse I am making. Thank you in advance for any help offered.

    This my newest favorite channel! Thank you SO much for this! A friend makes plarn mats for the homeless and she gave me one for my new apartment to use as a rug in my kitchen… It is soft, very durable and so easy to wash and hangs to dry in no time! What a great way to reuse worthless plastic bags! So I have decided to start on an oval one for my bathroom and maybe a little larger oval one for my small loving room! I am so impressed with how they have so many great applications! You could even crochet two together for a thicker padded rug!

    I’m following a tote bag pattern with a diamond crocheted pattern on the sides . The pattern for the base ends with 120 stitches. I want to make the base like your video shows ( as it is better and nearer than the pattern I bought )..how many chain stitches do I need to finish with a total of 120.

      Ok i hope this helps, let me break it down. So 2nd row was 2dc in first and 2 DC in second stitch then you DC to the next corner and it's 2dc in each of the next five ok? Then when u get back to the first corner you do 2dc in rhe next 3 stitches making it also have DC in 5 stitches. Make sense? Then row three instead of 2dc then 2 DC. It's now 1dc then 2 then 1 then 2. Then 1dc in each stitch til you get to the other corner. It's 1dc 2dc, 5 times. Then you DC each stitch to the first corner and finish it up with 1dc 2dc, 3 times. Ok every row moving forward you're going to add one more 1dc. So the next row for example will be 1dc in the next 2 stitches then 2dc then 1 DC in next 2 stitches then 2dc. 1dc to next corner. Then 5 times you'll do 1dc 1dc 2dc. Finish the first corner up wirh 1dc 1dc 2dc three times. Next row will be 1dc 1dc 1dc 2dc twice, then other corner will be the same 5 times then you'll finish the original corner with 3 sets. Next row 1dc 1dc 1dc 1dc 2dc twice, other corner 5 times, finish up first corner 3 times. I hope that helps.

    How do i do row 4? How do i know when to increase?

    • @YoelaOlson
      @YoelaOlson 9 місяців тому +2

      The pattern is simple, you just have to keep adding an extra dc before the inc. So, row 3's corner was 1 dc 1 dc 2dc (or 2dc, inc, if you read patterns that way), and row 4's corner should be 1 dc 1dc 1dc 2dc (3dc, inc)

      R3 - (2dc, inc) *5
      R4 - (3dc, inc) *5
      R5 - (4dc, inc) *5
      R6 - (5dc, inc) *5
      R7 - (6dc, inc) *5
      Etc etc etc
