I'm here and enjoying it thanks. Just spent up on may the 4th.
Thanks! It's days like May the 4th that make me glad I'm not a huge Lego Star Wars fan, I'd be broke for sure 😅
I think the 1x1x3 brick is part 14716. However, it hasn't come out in dark bluish gray. I like the train clips. I just picked up the blue 60052-1 at a garage sale over the weekend.
Yeah it hasn't been released in blue either, but I've added the part number to my wanted list to pick them up when I place orders. Nice find with the 60052! I found a random lot on eBay years ago that had most of the parts for the locomotive. I liked it so much I bought the full set used from overseas. Now I have a powered and dummy unit to pull trains together 😁
You can very easily (and cheaply) make 6x16 flat beds to put logs/vehicles/whatever goods you want on. Unless you go crazy on the detail it's cheap and looks good
I've found a few more solutions I like. I'm going to be building some of the wagons from the Maersk train set, just in a cheaper color 😅 just waiting on parts. I could do some vehicle carriers as well, that's a good idea
@@BatteryPoweredBricks makes a lot of sense. Also if it's 16 long you only need two sets of wheels not 4 and the larger 6x4 boogie plate which also brings down costs.
I've done it in the past and it ran reasonably well on powered up. Obviously if you are using 9v or 12v you'll get more power but unless you plan on running a huge train that shouldn't be an issue.
The maersk container trucks can indeed be done cheaply if you swap maersk blue for any colour.
In the past I've used containers at 4x8 (to match the old harbour sets from the 90s) which can also help with weight as it's less bricks...
This is all assuming you are building 6 wide. Obviously at 7 or 8 wide you can get more detail but the pup system doesn't like it so much in my experience.
I have trouble with my 6 wide trains catching on my motorized switching assemblies, I'd hate to see what 7 or 8 would do 😅. I'm just using the cheap corrugated panels to make containers for now. I didn't even worry about doors for them 😁
@@BatteryPoweredBricks same. I've used the old 90s design as its even lighter and you can put what you want inside
I came across FX Bricks, who have started to make the old 9V tracks again and even make some R104 switches and curves.
I can't wait to try some of their products out! I'm interested in their motors and train speed regulator as well... if it ever gets released 😅
I only watch your channel for trains
You're in luck, tons of train videos coming 😅
lego part 14716
Ah the 3 high 1x1 piece. I'll add it to my wanted list. Oddly enough it doesn't seem to have been released in blue or dark blueish gray yet
