dBrand should sponsor this video - a sacrifice like this made to ease their customer's worries is a video that should be worth a new replacement dBrand skin of your choice, seriously!
It looked really hard to take off, I would like to remind people be very careful taking it off putting pressure on your screen for the M1 Macbook as the displays break quite easily. So if you put a skin on make sure it's one you want on for a long time LOL
I damaged my black carbon fiber dbrand skin on the lid of my i9 MBP. A hair dryer and about 5 minutes and it was off. I cleaned the remaining sticky residue off with some rubbing alcohol and my MBP looks brand new. Pulling the skin off without heat is stressful as it's made to definitely stick and potentially bend the lid enough to break the screen. A little heat and no problem.
The exact video I was looking for before purchasing a skin for my device as well. Just curious, wouldn't like a heat gun make it easier to remove it? Great effort though, I can see the pain in sacrificing the skin
Hey Dayo, what cavalier mic were you using to record this video? Was it wireless? The quality was so good, even when you stepped out the frame lol Just curious
My first skin from dbrand was for my Nexus 6 back in 2014. I used it to provide grip since I hate cases. Nowadays it's for the grip and also for looks. I have a black swarm skin on the front and bottom of my XPS 9300. I couldn't bring myself to put one on the track pad though.
So I've been recommended by a friend to use 3m vinyl skins on my newly bought PlayStation and laptop(and I ordered and installed them), both have delicate glossy material. He claimed and I also have also have heard other people say that those high quality vinyl if removed with proper care don't leave any stickiness or residue and actually protects the console and keep it in pristine shape. However I have seen some UA-camrs like Ckwrap etc complain about residue left on the cars, while people removing their 3m Dbrand vinyl wraps from their laptopa and iPads do it without a single mark left on the device. I'm kinda confused. Could someone give me a better picture?
Don’t normally comment on videos but I love the dedication to the video and removing the skin!! Great video bro this helped me in my decision if I wanna get a skin
Yes, it will damage your laptop. How? When you are trying to peel off, you are holding your laptop hard and due to the pressure you are damaging the screen glass. Some are lucky that everything is fine.

I actually just removed a skin from my palm rest that was on for about a year and a half.....and I see discolouration around the edge of my device. I have a space grey 2020 MacBook Pro for reference. Im pretty sad about this tbh
I would assume not, perhaps a better combination would be to put in a skin and then a case because dirt and dust tends to get inside cases and scratch the device anyways. So skin to protect against scratches and cases to protect against drops and bumps. I got a spigen case for my phone and the thing has fallen from a 3rd story building, not a single blemish on my all crystal phone. But dirt has gotten inside of it and there are little micro scratches (which I don't care but I know some people do)
the heat of the laptop isn't coming from the display or top case, but way more on the back casing, it would have been smarter to try just to peel this one cos maybe this is where you could have noticed some issues.. but do not be sad your video will pay for a new one I hope ^^, it would be cool to know if you removed the bottom skin , what did u noticed ? thx man .
It depends on the skin. Some material is slippery than others. For example, as much as I love the Marble, it just makes tit slippery. Carbon Fiber or Leather? Much more grip. Compared to the device without the skin, ANY skin I find to be more grip. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any anymore questions for clarification.
I'm an active user of custom skins, I was just curious if I can replace/update the skins on my products. Does this in any way affect the surface of my products as in leaving any sticky residue or marks due to replacing (removing and installing another skin]

@@alexanderkrasnovsky from my memory no. I currently have another skin on and cannot check. I’ve used them for many years and can’t say any aluminum product has caused any transitioning or staining even at high temps (such as leaving it in a car on a sunny day or left on the counter in direct sunlight)
watching Dayo go through so much stress and sadness just to remove the dbrand skin already made me not want to take off mine, i feel you bro :’)
thank you for your sacrifice 🙏🏽
Read this comment first and thought he broke his MacBook.

Ok I’m sold! Thank you for this video. I’m about to order my skin for my iPad Pro and the Magic Keyboard. Dbrand! Give this man free skins for life!

Man, thank you for sacrificing your awesome skin for us. For what it's worth, this video was really helpful!

You should warm the sticker with a hair dryer for a sec. It works for all stickers.
Your sacrifice is much appreciate bro!👊🏾
Thank you for sacrificing your skin. This is exactly I was looking for. Very Helpful!

A heat gun or a brow drier would definitely make it come off waaaay easier with little to no residue at all.
This is very helpful. Thank you. But I’ve never seen someone so indecisive in my life. 😆 sorry for your loss, maybe be more sure next time! Lol
Underrated Channel! I loved this video.
Any person that has dealt with skateboard grip tape knows how to deal with this.

How easy is to install the skin ? I looked a. Video how to install, but is it hard ? I’m thinking of getting it for my Mac air
Ok but what did you replace the skin with???
Leather Skin

Thanks for the sub!
It hurts me watching pulling the skin of like that. It could destroy something inside the screen
would have been easier using hot air before peeling off, or that's not recommended?
Using hot air or a blow dryer could help

Was the colour transition visible where there was skin and where there wasn't?
