La sexorcisto was their pinnacle, no techno metal trash, just solid funk metal. One of the few albums from my childhood that still in my car today. I remember Rob Zombie in the background of Headbangers ball painting the set pieces. 🤘
“Techno metal trash”…obviously you were never into the Wax Trax catalog, which is a shame. A lot of early WZ came out of that sort of industrial metal. They even had KMFDM remixes ffs

I was lucky enough when a college town near me had a house of students win the MTV contest and I got to see them play there and met Rob and Sean -- Went on to see them play at a stadium show, man what a show! -- One of the loudest bands I have ever heard live. The show itself was so unique.
I was such a giant White Zombie fan and I can honestly say I have never cared for a single song the Rob released as a solo act. Not for lack of trying either. His movies are, a thing that exist - don't love them don't hate them. I do know that Devil Music Vol 1: LA Sexorcisto was one of the best god damn metal records ever written and definitely in the tippy top of its era/genre. Gonna go listen to that shit now matter of fact.
La Sexorsisto is my favorite album. I love how heavy Astro Creep is, but La Sexo has so much in it. I LOVE the drums, the groove, the guitar riffs and bass. Rob's voice is great too. I like his more aggressive voice a lot more than his more whinier voice.
I can remember getting a free White Zombie cassette tape outside the Elks Lodge in Queens, NYC after ECW wrestling night. Must've been like 97. What an awesome memory.
I respect your opinions regarding white zombie, but i really dont think that rob fell off after the band broke up, matter of fact he released some of his best songs in his solo carreer
In a Rolling Stone interview with Cortney Love, she mentioned two bands she was listening to, that I never heard of: Helmet and White Zombie. I bought ‘La Sexocisto’ the next, without knowing what type of music it was. It sounded mostly like heavy metal, which I am not a fan of. However, I was a big fan of this record. Such a great record. Rob going techno is where he lost me.
Dude that’s awesome Helmet is also amazing. Courtney could be awful but she was also cool af at times too. Like watch the Kurt Cobain-Nardwuar interview
I’m fine with bands staring at their feet the whole time as long as they sound good. I’d much rather that than a lead singer bouncing all over the stage out of breath trying to sing the lyrics
White Zombie and The Toadies was my first concert. I was probably 5th grade and I thought it was such an awesome show. I remember going to the baseball card shop in my town and buying both of their CDs used. I had to hide them from my mom because I know she wouldn't like the cover art and song titles. Still amazes me how much of an impact they made with only two major releases. Kind of sucks they hung it up so soon. Unfortunately I never got into Rob's solo stuff. I don't think it was bad necessarily just not White Zombie good.
My first concert was White Zombie and Pantera at Hampton Collesium in Virginia. I rode in the covered bed of a truck for over 100 miles south on I95. I was about 13 years old. That was the night I learned what a mosh pit really was. Lol

I first heard White Zombie in the snowboarding video Riders On The Storm in late 1992, which had 3 of their songs on it. They quickly became one of my favorite bands, even though I couldn't actually find the album anywhere or anything else about them. 13 year old me learned how to play guitar to those riffs, just from the crap VHS copy of the snowboarding video. I finally actually found the La Sexorcisto album the following summer. Then they started showing up on my favorite TV show, Beavis and Butt-head, and then on Headbanger's Ball. I was astonished that this band was now getting airplay on MTV. The 1995 album was a pretty big let down for me, as they started turning more electronic and less metal riff oriented. Never got to see them live.

Gotta admit that Super Sexy Swinging Sounds is my favorite release of theirs though.
Yeah there was just something special about White Zombie. I don't know how many Ozzfest appearances where I had to sit through Rob but there were many.
White Zombie broke up during the Danzig tour. Rob quit the band and wanted out. His management convinced him that it would be a huge mistake to ditch the WZ brand and would take years to get another project to the same level, if it were to even happen at all. This happened because Sean and Rob broke up. Rob caught Sean "in the act" with Ivan de Prume. Turned out that Sean and Ivan had been having an affair for a long time behinds Rob's back. It's why Rob would go on to tour in a separate bus. He didn't want to be around his ex, but wanted to keep the band alive and make it even bigger. Due to the record deal, etc., he couldn't kick Sean out of the band. Rob had to live with it. Info came from Philo/Phildo, the drummer for Last Crack that was Ivan's replacement in WZ, and a couple of roadies that got in the conversation. Met him backstage at the San Antonio date at Sneakers. I was talking to him and curious what had happened since WZ were usually out and about after shows. Years before they were signed to Geffen the WZ bus broke down outside of San Antonio and the band ended up sleeping on the floor at my girlfriend's apartment. So, it's not like I was a stranger. Phil said everyone was so upset by the situation that they were staying on the bus and had asked for no contact. I then went on to get my albums signed by Danzig and crew. While I was walking to my car Phil stopped me and said that Rob said that he wouldn't come out, but that he'd sign my stuff. I gave my album to Phil, the glow-in-the-dark version of La Sexorcisto and the green vinyl God of Thunder EP. Phil took them on the bus and had them signed by the band.
Holy shit, if you’re not lying, that explains a lot. I’ve never seen Rob or Sean give an exact reason as to why they broke up; I just remember seeing in articles back in the 90s that it was “amicable” and that Sean instigated the breakup. That makes sense as to why Rob was so persistent in shoving Sheri in Sean’s face, probably to spite her. It also makes sense as to why Rob never wants to form White Zombie again; I can tell he’s a man with a big ego so I imagine he didn’t get over Sean’s betrayal for a longgg time. Too bad they couldn’t be like Fleetwood Mac and just make damn good music out of their broken relationships.
Caught them in late late 80s as openers for Milwaukee's Die Kreuzen , i think they were touring for Make Them Die Slowly. (Stache's, Columbus Ohio). Dug it, but couldn't grasp where they were headed till i heard Love Razor (G.O.T. Ep pre La Sexorcisto). That did it for me. Glad i stumbled onto this video. Brought back memories.
Rob says he hates anything the critics like. Critics can say vice versa about his film career as well 50% The Munsters (2022) 58% 3 From Hell (2019) 47% 31 (2016) 46% The Lords of Salem (2012) 40% The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (2009) 23% Halloween II (2009) 27% Halloween (2007) 55% The Devil's Rejects (2005) 20% House of 1000 Corpses (2003)
When White Zombie came to our town in the 90s church groups protested and threatened to bomb the theater. MTV covered it and it was a fairly big story. It was Viking Hall in Bristol Va in the early 90s. That’d make a cool video and story for you to do a video on.
Rob Zombie's birth name is "Robert Cummings!".. Rob Straker was his stage name prior to choosing "Rob Zombie!".. I was a big fan of WZ after first hearing them on Mtv (like most) around the time "La Sexorcisto" came out. Unfortunately I never got to see them live and the show I did plan on going to was their tour with Pantera and the Deftones, but wound up badly breaking my arm and stuck in limbo, not knowing if I'd need surgery or not and ya kinda can't go to a metal concert with your arm in a sling!...
Love White Zombie. Also, RZ solo. Now, I understand Rob's point about "no stage presence", but it's ironic(at least to me) that he wanted to deal with a scene that he found to be pretentious. Also, to me, Rob and the band had more in common with Twisted Sister than perhaps he believed or wanted to admit. His statement about always wanting to sell out is particularly hilarious because you don't know if it's truthful, or just his sense of humor!
@@wesleypipes5673 The Devil's Rejects was great i, Halloween was great ,Halloween 2 was okay more movies than I've made more albums that I've sold so I'd say he had a pretty good career, he's at least not working 9:00 to 5:00
Rob Zombie shamelessly jacked Al Jourgensen from Ministry's LOOK AND SOUND! Dreadlocks and the Cowboy hat was a pretty specific look..Rob. Not to mention fusing heavy electronics, heavy guitars, and Samples...hmm..where did he come up with that? MINISTRY
Always been a big fan of White Zombie. I love the style, imagery and of course the music. I have liked Robs music afterwards but La Sexorcisto and Astro have never been topped in my opinion. I'd love to see a reunion for a tour but that will never happen. They've never seen eye to eye since the breakup and haven't been in a room together either. I'm also guessing Sheri Moon wouldn't approve of a reconciliation with Yseult.
Chris Lee (Sean's hubby) wouldn't approve either. But that's a moot point because it ain't gonna happen even without their spouses in the picture. Sean and J both hate RZ and that's not gonna change and it is what it is. Meanwhile, J says he's never even watched a RZ movie, and never will. It's just bad blood after the band broke up.
So now we finally get the real story behind why this amazing band split up so soon! I never truly bought Rob's explanation for their split. It's sad cause they had their own unique sound & style. One that used many samples from movies, which as a movie buff, myself, I can appreciate.
Sean Yesult is the reason I went and saw them five times on the Lasexorsito Tour !!Sooo Hot 🔥.Dam she can play Bass!!!💯 Thus why they will never reunite. She can't stand Rob!!🤦
I fucking LOVE White Zombie. It broke my heart when they split and honesty, never been a fan of Rob's music post White Zombie. God of Thunder EP and La Sexorcisto are peak.
Every time I heard Thunder Kiss 65 it reminds me of staying up until like 2 or 3 am to watch ECW every Saturday night. You really couldn't have asked for a more fitting intro. Plus you just knew Paul E. sure as hell wasn't paying any licensing fees to use it, which just made the whole package even cooler.

Weird, if they were banned in Omaha how did I see White Zombie play there twice in 92 & 95? If they were banned it must've been after the Astrocreep tour, right before they broke up. In fact we ran into them at Denny's, where my buddy worked, after the show in 95.

The most recent Rob Zombie album is probably the closest he has come to doing more White Zombie type stuff. I just love the drums on La Sexorcisto. That dude killed it. 🎃
Facts!!!!! That was classic zombie sound🤙🏼🤘🏼☠️
drummer was huge Dave Lombardo fan
before knowing that I had always noticed the similarities between the two
@@rtf8056 that makes sense, some interview that J did he said basically they all went and saw Slayer live and that’s when they decided to change their sound. You can hear it on those walk downs in the riffs. I love that album.
@@SeanBlitzkrieg heoyeah
The whole album is great, but i have always loved the drums on that album the most.
One of the best concerts I've ever been to. And I've seen them all
I never knew Astro Creep sold more than La Sexorcisto. Saw these guys in Portland '93. Awesome show. Their encore was a cover of "Helter Skelter"
Saw White Zombie open up for Danzig in Seattle at the Moore Theatre...probably in 1993. I'd never heard of them but was blown away by their performance. The friend I went with and I still talk about watching them to this day. They were crazy good!
Tough for Danzig to follow them on stage I bet. Zombie blew them away!
I saw them w danzig in detroit at harpos. it was last night of them together EERIE and a roadie put mop heads on and came out to WZ encore and hit them w/ pies n shave cream
I find that hard to believe, tbh.
The tour with the big bullwinkle head ?
I saw them with Filter in Pensacola during their peak year, both bands were good!
Yeah, but Danzig was the head of a legendary band still sounding great. Zombie was a cheap Jorgensen knock-off who's so-called music belongs in music of the 90s bargain bins.
I’m happy we got what we got from them, it’s pretty great stuff.
Rob Zombie does put on a great show, there's no denying that
yeah everything but the singing sadly.
@@jansandman6983 yeah live he sounds awful.
@@tehf00n I went to louder than life '22 to see Kiss and Alice Cooper. Rob Zombie was also there that day and I didn't expect much but that dude was amazing. I was blown by the vocals to the point where I didn't know if it was a lip sync or not 💀
@@theodio0719 Well technically I saw White Zombie in the mid-90's so there was room for improvement in 30 years :d
He’s out of breath every three words.
He’s terrible live.
La sexorcisto was their pinnacle, no techno metal trash, just solid funk metal. One of the few albums from my childhood that still in my car today. I remember Rob Zombie in the background of Headbangers ball painting the set pieces. 🤘
It's always been weird to me that Astrocreep was more popular. Sexorcisto grooves like no other album period!
@@jonpresley1163 Facts!
“Techno metal trash”…obviously you were never into the Wax Trax catalog, which is a shame. A lot of early WZ came out of that sort of industrial metal. They even had KMFDM remixes ffs
Wikipedia states that Rob attended Pratt, not Parsons. He is even listed as an alumni at Pratt.
I am listed as an alumni at Pratt

more human than human!
i saw them when they opened for Anthrax in '93 on the Sound of White Noise tour....Voivod was the first act...great show...
I saw them open for Anthrax on that tour in Cleveland. I don’t remember Voivod being on the bill though. I thought they blew anthrax off the stage. I saw them several times after that but that show was probably my favorite
@@whsmfs Voivod was only on the bill in Canada .
Got to see them a couple of times in late 80’s…shows were amazing! They’d always crash at my friend’s place…absolutely the nicest esp Rob.
I saw them open for Danzig on the Danzig 3 tour. I'd heard of them but never heard them. They really rocked Cain's Ballroom that night.
I've said it before, they don't need Rob to do a reunion. I'd pay good money to see the instrumental section of white zombie together again!
Rob can't sing live anyways. most people come to their concert to listen to White Zombie's heavy music not Rob's out of breath mumblings
Rob would probably prevent it from happening in court,if they tried.
Rob is an ass hat. I'd see the band without him
Me too me toooo! Man I love them to this day, damn
@@jansandman6983100%
Picking up La Sexorcisto as an aussie teen in the early 90"s was mind blowing still on heavy rotation daily
White zombie never fell. They were amazing up unto the end. Rob fell off after he went solo. White Zombie was and is still amazing to listen to.
I respect your opinions regarding white zombie, but i really dont think that rob fell off after the band broke up, matter of fact he released some of his best songs in his solo carreer
I saw White Zombie with Pantera back in 1996 in LA. Adam Sandler came out on stage and sang More Human with Rob. Amazing show
In a Rolling Stone interview with Cortney Love, she mentioned two bands she was listening to, that I never heard of: Helmet and White Zombie.
Never heard of helmet they have been around since the late 80s and 90s
I've always loved Helmet. Too bad that blonde vampire bitch mentioned them because now they seem a little bit tarnished.
Love The Toadies too!❤️
I was poor, but I got White Zombie and Toadies CDs too. Three hours of work per CD before tax, four hours after tax. 😅
My first concert was White Zombie and Pantera at Hampton Collesium in Virginia. I rode in the covered bed of a truck for over 100 miles south on I95. I was about 13 years old. That was the night I learned what a mosh pit really was. Lol
Saw that tour in NOLA. Pit was brutal.
i was soo into them bak then..saw em several times live, once with Pantera
So glad I caught that tour with Pantera (and I wanna say it was an Aragon Brawlroom show too). I like the solo stuff but White Zombie was special. Still searching for a nice J sig model Iceman.
I saw that tour Deftones opened around the time of their first record
Man White Zombie was amazing for 2 albums. It kills me they broke up, Rob Zombies solo stuff just isn't as good, to me. At least they gave us those 2 great albums.
The first Rob Zombie album is good
I agree, after Make Them Die Slowly their sound got a lot more commercial. La Sexorcisto and beyond werent much good
@@irishtexan100 it’s good & creative but sounds like it was recorded on a potato. Same with their 2nd but to a lesser extent IMO

Beavis and butthead got me into white zombie and all other varieties of heavy metal when I was a kid.
I remember watching their music video commentary of welcome to planet MF and loving and discovering white zombie for the first time.
This is why the fans like myself of BnB need the king turd collection more than that crappy censored mike judge collection. 😂
Same here. Even their dislike of hair bands still kept the bands alive. I know Kip Winger might disagree, but I never heard of Winger before BnB.
B & B made white zombie. Welcome to planet mother fucker
@@dont_follow5777 Even their trolling of bands like, Accept and king diamond got me into those bands too. 😂
Beavis and Butthead introduced me to Ministry. Loved B&B and King Of The Hill.
I discovered so many bands on BnB. Monster Magnet, Quicksand, , Nudeswirl, Entombed, Kyuss, Morbid Angel, etc. In some ways it was a better resource than Alternative Nation or Headbanger's Ball
I had the hugest crush on Sean, man. Hell, I still do!
When I was 16, my dad and I were installing a cd player in my car. When it came time to test the cd player, he went sifting through my cd's and found my La Sexorcisto cd. He promptly lectured me about devil worship and took the cd. Then he popped in an Ozzy Osbourne cd and tuned the player.....30 years later its still a head scratcher.
To this day, La Sexorcisto is one of the most legendary albums of all time.
This is a FACT not an OPINION
They weren't banned in Omaha, saw them several times there and they were always welcome.
Man Astro Creep was one of the best albums that came out of that era. I think it’s the best example of what Rob was trying to achieve, musically and artistically. He’ll always be one of my fave artists, although I’m not a huge fan of his later stuff outside of WZ.
Watered down Ministry, let's be honest
@@kingcarrot6355 I’ve been hearing that since the 90s. I like Ministry too, but honestly Astro Creep doesn’t sound anything like Ministry. They just happen to look exactly like each other ha. Also, nothing wrong with sounding a little more commercial. Even Rob has never denied wanting to “sell out.”
@@zombieparrot2606 I like White Zombie as well, don't get me wrong.
But I don't consider Rob to be original in any sense - They way he promoted himself on Headbangers Ball was beyond cringe
What are the differences between rob zombie and white zombie? They sound pretty much the same to me.
La sexorcisto was far better, none of that techno metal trash.
Ha! I saw them live Twice on the same Lasexorcisto tour 93/94 Once in a small club then suddenly they were playing arena's.
I didnt have mtv as a kid, i heard black sunshine in the radio and i was hooked. Ive bought astro creep 2000 at least 5x because i had worn it out. Really wish they get back together and tour, but band dosnt have any relationship with rob after a recent interiew with with band celebrating 30 year anniversary of el sexocisto.
I would be so hype for a white zombie tour! I would def go!
Astro-Creep is my favorite album ever. Weird to say considering White Zombie doesn't even make my top 5 bands of all time.
Saw Rob in August with a 15 minute version of ThunderKiss 65 which included a full version of Blitzkrieg Bop

Yeah there was just something special about White Zombie. I don't know how many Ozzfest appearances where I had to sit through Rob but there were many.
@@WinterInTheForest that something special was everyone in the band not named rob
I didn't know White Zombie's history, very cool... I'm more into NIN and Ministry, I've never hrard WZ's earlier albums. I'll check it out.
When White Zombie came to our town in the 90s church groups protested and threatened to bomb the theater. MTV covered it and it was a fairly big story. It was Viking Hall in Bristol Va in the early 90s. That’d make a cool video and story for you to do a video on.
Will you ever do a video about the feud between Rob Zombie and Al Jourgensen?
This was amazing! Thank you. Even with their success White Zombie still feels underrated.

You should've gone. A lot of dudes coming out of that Pantera pit could've used some advice on how to care for a broken arm.
I rewatched beginning so many times saying wtf
I was in love with Sean during the 90's. I still get warm when I see pix of her back in the day.
Way of the Warrior + White Zombie = Awesome intro to a band through a sweet fighting game
Saw them in '95. The Ramones opened. Great show. Still listen to White Zombie, good times.

Just saw Rob Zombie live for the first time finally. Best fucking show ive ever been to, especially since he played a lot of White Zombie!! ♡♡♡♡
I saw them at the Medusa nightclub in Chicago, early 90's. Good stuff
So now we finally get the real story behind why this amazing band split up so soon! I never truly bought Rob's explanation for their split. It's sad cause they had their own unique sound & style. One that used many samples from movies, which as a movie buff, myself, I can appreciate.
