I took 16 tripple c's and ran a trail in my city (about 3 miles) at full speed at midnight with no light, i didnt stop once i just ran as fast as i could, after the experience i realized i could literally run anywhere any time. I was seeing visions like full on dreams. My friends who i was with saw me running and were absolutely blown away at the speed i had.

This is very accurate. I used dxm a ton when I was first kicked out and forced to become a dextromethorphan orphan...
I personally had an addiction to DXM for years, first starting in high school every weekend, then after moving out on my own I did it daily for months, almost over a year. DXM should not be done that much and in such excess, I was drinking 2-3 4 oz bottles every night. I gave myself serotonin syndrome multiple times, but not severe enough to go to the ER. What made me stop was multiple psychotic episodes, one so severe that I ended up running around naked at 1AM around my town thinking my girlfriend had disappeared. I was arrested from 2 of those episodes and had to deal with legal trouble as well. Since then, which was about 2014, I have never touched it and I am terrified to. Be careful with this stuff, legal doesn't mean safe.

I'm around 110 kg and took 900mg and had a complete out of body experience, as if my mind and body were traveling to other dimensions while I was an observer sitting inside my head. I was completely dissociated and detatched from my body. I remember having voices in my head telling me to kill myself to end my nightmare experience while I watched the clock stand still. The time literally stayed at 10:15PM for hours. Set and setting is VERY important with this drug.

Absolutely, I think this was one that is very similar to a right of passage ceremony type experience. I did it before 9/11 and that was the last time. I had just got to work release, and the experience made a massive impact on my adjustment to the post prison life, and no joke, I started a zine, found a special life long friend, and I left the old life behind, I left it behind so far behind I would end up in SWEDEN from Portland to Kennewick to Longview to Seattle to Sweden.

DXM literally changed my life from the second it hit me the first time. I believed I had died and was a new creature- a literal resurrection. I started believing all kinds of crazy shit like I was a prophet. It took it like a year to fully wear off and to this day I still have light episodes of crazy thinking 💭

I should have worded that better, what i mean is you should be educated about a substance before you ever decide to take said substance. As far as i know,there is nothing you can take that will make dxm safer to consume.not doing it at all is the safe way to do it

Honestly, I have a CYP2D6 deficiency, so the fact I enjoyed it at all says a lot about my mindset. I am more of an opioid fiend, but the biggest thing that got me to stop THAT is just all the negative impact it's had on my life. It's nice to THINK you can just get high and go handle your business, but once you start, you always want to be just a little higher.

I remember taking like 10 of the gel capsules and wanting to talk to someone and just share my crazy thoughts. But I had no one close at the time so I just started writing everything down. It was a decent trip but definitely left me with a sore jaw just from clenching the next day. I remember seeing my bedroom extend to different sizes and crunch in smaller.
I used to view DXM as such a moronic and immature choice of substance...but wow, I was soooooo wrong in pre-judging it! It is an extremely far out substance with very impressionable effects. I have had some profound experiences with DXM...especially when mixed with high doses of kratom. It's quite a load on the cardiovascular system, but the euphoric results are beyond what MDMA and other entactogens/empathogens have ever graced me with! Wild stuff!!!!
I think DXM cured my bigotry and helped me choose what college I wanted to attend based on the career path I wanted. I’m happily working in that career now, so it’s safe to say that the DXM decision-making skills are like no other substance I’ve ever taken lol

How much DXM do you need to take with kratom ?
Gotten to plateau sigma before. Craziest stuff man. I didn't know where I was but it seemed like some cold arctic place, I saw colorful creatures float in and out of the dimension. Some were friendly, taking on animal forms. Others seemed more creepy and sinister, so abnormal and surreal.
Method Music VandSelenite I remember repeated loops of edm music. With seeing rainbow colors through a Flys eyes. Through passing series of hexagons and squares I was seeing the colors through.
One time when I did a fourth plateau I had something similar to your experience with tundra landscapes and like Ice Age tribes which was pretty cool one of the few true CEVs or out of body experiences I have gotten from dextromethorphan usually I don't get any visuals whatsoever unless I add a significant dose of THC to the experience

My experiences were like rapid fire, from one scene to the next in a matter of seconds. I won't list them all here, but I do remember moving passed a large willow tree that seemed to be breathing. When I closer too it, it turned towards me and took on the shape on an elephants. It was still a tree, just the shape. It had a face. It smiled and bowed as I passed by. Then I was rocketing off to more bizarre landscapes.
DXM is one of few substances that have given me proper hallucinations, as in seeing things that aren't there. And it's one of few substances that are more enjoyable in moderate doses - 1500mg had me totally incapacitated
Same man. One time I was just staring out my window and I thought a full blown party was going on in my front yard, people walking around and tables set up. I turned for one minute and looked back and it was all gone.
Me too, i was streaming the walking dead and true blood the same time. A few time? later the walking dead was playing on one wall of my room and true blood on one other. i could go into theses walls .. Then i made a mistake , by going to one while i was still in the other. At that moment there was a short circuit in the whole house and the electricity was gone for 30 minutes and others noticed it as well. That the electricity was gone

This stuff can cause mania faster than those other antidepressants usually can. It’s harder to interact socially as you take more so be mindful of the risks. Also combined with pot just about any gut instinct or connection could feel “true”

I've done a handful of what people consider "real" drugs like weed, shrooms, etc and I still have a great respect for this substance. I did DXM for my first time last Sunday. Yes, I am an adult. I am an avid psychonaut and wanted to know how it felt and how deep of a trip I could possibly get from this "high schooler drug". Honestly going into it, I just expected to feel a bit drunk and stoned. All I can say is *wow.* The effects are just so strange and unique and I found it really interesting. I did have quite a deep trip, I 3rd plat'd and it was my first time doing it. It turned me into a zombie for the following two days though, so I plan on only doing it on special occasions.

Had my first 3rd plat a few days ago. It was fucking awesome. I was in the past, present, and future at the same time. I was also listening to music and sad songs brought me to tears.
I took the photo at 25:35 it was spring 2006 and I uploaded it to erowid later. Glad to see it used. I particularly like how liberty is displayed on the dime; usually what 8 tablets gave me.
My 300mg trip involved an egodeath visualised by dozens of knives and swords stabbing me, while being narrated by some orc voice telling me how ugly and cold death is. Was playing shadow of mordor that day. Took me completely out of my suicidal state of mind. Also came to the conclusion that consciousness is spirit, that we get reborn until we're perfected and merge back with the spring.

Your ego tells you "my name is___ , im 27 years old , i live in x city in x state, i have one brother, i work at ___" things like that. Your ego gives you a sense of identity . Thats why people who are egotistical are very self absorbed and think highly of themselves compared to anyone else. If you have no ego, you have no identity
When you get ego death, your ego dissolves or goes away. You no longer have a sense of identity or self. You tend to forget your name, who you are, where you are, what you are doing, your friends and family, etc. You forget everything that allows you to identify your own self.
It can be very scary when it comes on, you may start forgetting who you qre, the fact that youre on a drug, what you do in life, where you are, things like that.
But once you completely fall over into ego death, you no longer are scared or anxious because you dont have the ability to understand feelings anymore. Youre nothing. Youve detached from reality and your self identity. Youre kind of just one with the world
Until youve personally experienced ego death, you can never truly understand what it is or what it feels like. Youve spent your entire life with a sense of self, so its impossible to think about living without having an identity or a life youve built attached to yourself.
I came to the exact same conclusion on a low dose of DXM combined with guided meditation. Completely changed my life.

This shit is super fucking awesome and extremely psychoactive feeling. I remember laying my bed on 1500mg. Watching my room go from a square into a circle. Watching my celling turn into a checker board and geometric patters rippiling through everything. I developed a dependency to DXM. Be careful. It's not addictive unless you're careless.
To anyone who is interested in DXM, I highly recomend you start with a small dose trip. first take like 30-60 mg to make sure you don't have that rapid metabolizer enzyme thingy (this makes you extremely sensitive to dxm. this can be extremely dangerous in large doses so start with a low dose to see if you have it or not.) After you can take like 300mg. You'll be robo walking at this dose and seeing some slight visuals. (assuming you're average weight if you're lighter then lower the dose, if you're heavier then up the dose)
first time doing DXM I took 600 milligrams at 145 pounds, and I have never been more messed up in my life. I was more messed up than the time I took 3.5 grams of shrooms without any prior shroom experience.

@@frieddumplings7618 I know, that is the point. 30-60mg is not supposed to have any psychoactive effects. the purpose of taking a tiny dose is to make sure that you don't have that enzyme thing that causes you to be extremely sensitive to the substance. pretty sure you can overdose if you take a regular trip dose while having that enzyme thing. not 100% sure though.
@@frieddumplings7618 It might let you know if you'll have any horrible side effects. I had a bottle of 30mg tablets, and decided that each day I would take one more tablet than the last to see how it effected me. I stopped after day 2 (just 60mg.)
Just 60mg of it made me dizzy, nauseous, have dry mouth, have no appetite, and just generally feel like total crap. It also felt like being drunk with all the bad effects and none of the good effects.
I overdosed on cold medicine when I was 14. I was at school, and felt like I really was going to die, so a few friends carried me to the nurse. My mom was called and she went with me to the hospital. My heart stopped, and they thought I was dead. I remember bits and pieces, and remember seeing my mom crying and telling her it's okay and that she did nothing wrong. Obviously they brought me back, because here I am. Unfortunately I did not learn my lesson and only had brief periods of sobriety before becoming an opiate addict, then alcoholic. It's been a long, awful journey. I still struggle, but I do feel like I'm finally able to fight the demons and do well for myself.

Your liver is pretty resilient and good at repairing itself. Not saying your liver will be at 100% capacity but I'm sure that if you have been clean since, your liver probably has repaired a lot of its function
DXM has always given me some of the greatest spiritual experiences. I would take DXM over any psychedelic.

Even though DXM is classified as a disassociative I'd also classify it as a psychedelic, especially in higher doses. Although it's not as powerful as shrooms or LSD.
Cult of the Sun If you do doses of like 1400mg+ and close your eyes in a dark room you'll have visuals that rival any psychedelic. Complete out of body experiences as well. If you add some nitrous with it, it's absolutely insane at those doses.

One of the most special drugs i've ever taken in my life, subtle yet strong, euphoric yet down to earth..
I took DXM, died, went to purgatory, which was my apartment, which I was trapped in because my entire life was dream I had, because I was actually in a coma in a hospital due to being in a car accident when I was a child. Everything was trying to get me to wake up from my coma, to come back to the real existence. Every youtube video was speaking to me directly...thinly veiled hallucinations uttering the words of the nurses and family members begging me to wake up. But to go wake up was to die in this dream purgatory, to give up, stop fighting and enter a cold, dark tunnel, to sleep and let the overdose take me through the darkness so I could wake up in a hospital bed.
Beings from another dimension that is present now, but invisible to us, and beyond time (capable of seeing us in all states and times at once) could become aware that I was an unexpected visitor to their plane, and temporarily able to pierce the veil into their dimension. They were aware of my presence and able to either bless me or decide against in. I received a golden blessing from a Chinese dragon entity there. This dimension was the place where gods, demons, spirits, angels, ghosts, some aliens and higher order energy beings exist, and it is right here, but we are separate and invisible to each other, usually.
Also, somehow, I was aware my desire to hide from the world and always wear a mask and never go to work created the COVID-19 pandemic. I manifested it. Sorry world.
Disassociated, detached, attaching meaning to everything, feeling I was definitely dead, time dilation, rabbit holes of thought, trying not to die/sleep, elevated heart rate, double vision, needing to chug a gallon of water, water-intoxication, ridiculous walking spasms/balance, panic, watery shit, unnecessary emergency room visit.

@@vaco7766 I don't think it increases our power to manifest, rather it makes us more sensitive to things we're unable to perceive in a normal state of self. Being a dissociative, it breaks us from the normal reality our mind manifests from the input of the senses. I wouldn't call it ego death, like on other psychedelics, as the sense of self is still very strong. It's more like temporary insanity, that you can actually be aware of your own insanity.
I used to be heavily addicted to DXM. Would take upwards of 1,200mg a day for years.... Seriously took a huge toll on my cardiovascular health, still dealing with chronic high blood pressure...

I've actually done that haha. I was homeless at the time and staying a at shelter. I had just gotten a job and started getting sick. I couldn't afford to call in so soon so I just thought maybe if I drank some cough syrup I'd be ok. I took a big gulp, threw the bottle on my bed and went to shower. When I came back to my bed I picked up the bottle to move it away and noticed that there was less then half of it left. I decided "fuck it, it might help." Downed the rest of the bottle then went to the tv room to hangout til lights out. About 10mins later it hits me HARD. Like 3rd plateau hard.
Drekloe honestly, man. I think it’s one of the reasons that I was finally able to get off the streets. I had a full on ego death that night and realized everything that I was mad or sad about was pointless. I started working 12-16hr shifts everyday (my job kept approving overtime) about a month and a half later, I got out of the shelter and into my own place. Been here for about 6 months now. Dxm has since lost its magic for me, unfortunately. So I don’t do it anymore, but I appreciate what’s it’s done for me.
I binged off dxm a couple days ago and I genuinely think I may have given myself a temporary form of seroton syndrome because after I had gotten out of my trip, I still felt a deep sense of anxiouness and dread, along with being extremely confused and having to deal with memory loss but it is slowly coming back and I'm starting to feel ok

52:12 I would like to add that a lot of Dextromethorphan containing products do have acetaminophen, which will kill you at a fairly average recreational dose. However, most of the products that have specific labels like DXM, Dextromethorphan, or Robitussin don't have acetaminophen. Just check the ingredients before you consume DXM. Also, don't do Dayquil, even though it was on the thumbnail.

Honeslty dxm is the oy drug that has blown my mind a par with dmt. These two have shaped my reality. And i used to be heavily addicted to it. But i feel like it opened my eyes
I've known people whose outlook on life changed completely after a single tab of weak to mild acid. I've taken up to two tabs of said weak to mild acid, and even in conjunction with cannabis, the effects have never been comparable to those I've felt on DXM. Acid just feels to exterior, while DXM is just so much more of an internal experience. I've never had the urge to try it with friends because I just know I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much as when I'm alone. As a lonely, creatively repressed, musically addicted, depressed autistic individual, I wholly recommend every single person in the world to try to reach upper plateau 3, and only then world peace will become a reality

I took this stuff a couple days ago and oh boy was it interresting. I did almost everything wrong that you can do wrong when taking a drug, I didnt research beforehand, I didnt know the dose i was taking and I didnt really even know what to expect. Long story short, I spent the whole night sitting in a porta potty, shitting out water and enjoying it. I dont regret it but i sure as hell wouldnt do it again.
Why is it never stressed enough that DXM can cause a serotonin syndrome on its own without mixing. Especially the "yeah I take 900mg for a hole experience every weekend" people are endangered because the serotonin builds up over time and it gets more and more psychotic.

I used to take this when sick from opioid withdrawal. It worked every time.
The first time I used dxm "recreationally" I was very uneducated on drugs in general but especially DXM, it did feel like time was stopping to me and I wasn't enjoying it, I thought I was going to die because I had an anxiety attack and thought my heart was gonna explode lol I'm not a fan of dissociatives
imlee888. Dxm is a tough drug to use recreationaly. It's effects vary GREATLY, from person to person, dose to dose, and even from one use to another. I've had some ok times with it, and some times where I couldn't wait to come down. In my opinion it's just too unpredictable to use recreationaly.

Psilocybin mushrooms are way healthier than any other recreational drug. They actually help grow new brain cells and improve psychological health afterward. Whereas most recreational drugs tend to have the opposite effect.

Acapello DXM and psilocybin are two very different drugs. They do both share a similarity in acting on serotonin receptors in the brain but that's about it. DXM has many different effects, some of which are not particularly healthy. I've seen studies regarding the neuroprotective aspects of DXM but not regarding any neurogenesis. One isn't a substitute for the other, and psilocybin is certainly less toxic.

undeadpresident I will thoroughly research my claim, but before I do, I will leave this anecdote here: I felt the same memory restorative effects from dxm that I felt from psilocybin and it feels like multiple pathways besides serotonin play a role and dxms cognitive effects.
psychedelics produce much more meaningful experiences yes, but the hallucinations i experienced from dxm were far more intricate and complex than any classical hallucinogen
R1b Maybe you haven‘t tried the right doses of the classical psychedelics to get something comparable to your DXM experiences. I haven‘t tried either, but from what I‘ve heard, the complexity of the hallucinations in a breakthrough DMT experience is not something that can be had with DXM.
DXM plus psilocin or LSD is like seeing snowflakes and other fractals in the foreground and wall warping, twisting, and movies both under the eyes and on walls. It could extend to several layers of moving imagery probably due to the nystagmus. It's also extremely intense. Far more intense than DMT both bodily and sensation wise. I can't recommend it because it's excessively serotonergic and has too many side effects, but DXM's potency in that regard is far stronger than that of ketamine. And I'm talking about one tab plus one bottle, or a quarter of mushrooms plus a bottle of gels 4 hours later. Absolutely divine. Alternates between orgasmic and getting stuck in anxiety. Separates out levels of consciousness (e.g. three trains of thought and perception) as much as it separates foreground, midground, and background. It is very difficult to communicate and move around, but has DMT and psilocin-like effects for an 8 hour period or longer where you're able to move around. One should not exceed 600mg if attempting this combination. The acid has to be real and the mushrooms must be well tolerated in the gut. It's not very comfortable most of the time but when it is comfortable, it's like being completely absorbed in whatever music or other stimulus and potentially disconnected from social interactions. Absolutely one of the most memorable experiences, but 50/50 risk/benefit ratio at best. One requires a sitter, and potentially medication. If thought loops from psychedelics are overly intense, DXM slows them down without reducing their intensity and makes even thoughts difficult to process. It may be more of a mix of the negatives than the positives, but with the right people and emergency medication (benzo, antihypertensive, ginger root), it rivals ayahuasca.
I cannot at all recommend this combination to anyone in light of differences of health, medication, mindset, setting, impaired perception, and the risk that one might exceed the dose their body is able to handle. But compared to ketamine plus a psychedelic, the ketamine is more of a near death + out of body experience, whereas DM plus a psychedelic (excluding "research chemicals") is more of a much more immersive and all encompassing psychedelic experience with nasty side effects--but so is ayahuasca. There's an elevation in vital signs and it's not a good idea with any condition such as hypertension or diabetes. The perception of the side effects on this combination is just like the perception of medical emergencies while sober. Without someone with knowledge, first aid experience, and access to medical care, the combination maybe more irresponsible than redeeming. The psychedelic rather than the DM would be wiser to increase in dose, although it should be considered that the combination in a 1 tab:1 bottle ratio is 3-4x stronger than either on its own.
I've trip sat this combination and adequate nutrition, hydration, and control over temperature, rigidity, and blood pressure, as with large doses of DXM or LSD alone, are required. I am not advising taking this combination, obtaining illegal drugs or drugs illegally, or enabling yourself to experience high doses of drugs via additive antihypertensives, analgesics, and benzodiazepines.
Ill advised but under $15 and extremely intense
I'd also add that this combination, especially with THC tends to elicit flashbacks and tends to fill wherever you are with a sort of purple haze and a sensation you're walking through fluorescent gases.

Was addicted to this stuff when I was in the navy. I guess it always flew under the radar and they didn’t test for it because I never got caught but this stuff is dangerous af. It’s very uncomfortable experience and a road you don’t wanna go down. Heart rate is insane, out of body experience feels like you might die but don’t care. Please do not abuse this. It’s a dark dark road, come down and the day after is horrific.
I remember when I had only 150mg of it (they were mucinex DM and each one had 30mg and 600mg glaude wain which I didn’t want to have too much of) and walking down the stairs was insane because it felt like I weighed 1000 pounds and I just remember the hallway the stairs are in stretching and twisting. Also, I would put a towel over my eyes and open them so I see darkness and little swirls completely took over my vision and I felt like I was ascending out of my body. Let me remind you this was only 150mg

My favorite trip on this stuff was when I wanted to watch a movie with my dad. World War Z, go watch it. Anyway I laid on the floor in front of the TV as the trip began to peak. The only way I know how to describe the feeling is everything reached the same plane, and there was nothing beyond human understanding. Everything was connected. Me, my dad, the Tv and the room we were in were connected and almost the same thing

For some Reason i'm real sensitive to Dxm my first time i did it (it was about 400 mg) i competly lost my Mind and was tripping balls for an entire day and couldn't walk and think straight for a couple of days after it. I did it again and only took 150 mg (which is very low) but i stilled tripped balls. Many years ago I had a number of experiences with this... I found that sitting in a pitch dark room while I was in the experience led to extremely life like imagery mixed with kaleidoscopic-esque structures such as gears. Two reasons I would not recommend this substance is that it has a narcotic quality and if the user abuses it they will experience significant impairment with levels of functioning even the days or weeks after. The second reason I don't recommend it is that, while this substance did have some sort of insights, they were almost always delusions. If you use this substance frequently, you will become delusional. The visuals were very memorable though but there wasn't the psychedelic aspect in that the visuals weren't interacting with me on a emotional level. From what I remember DXM is a pretty emotionless substance. I feel like I have had a different experience than most people though because from the handful of experiences I had with it sitting in a dark room, it was the most visual substance I have ever taken, but I am telling you not to. It isn't worth how far it takes you away from yourself. The visuals in my experience were definitely open-eyed and complex.

When done with the proper time in between trips, obvious other factors such as safety precautions. It is a great time. But, be weary if you do try it, it's unpredictable, each trip is dramatically different and just a slight dose difference can be the deciding factor of good time or absolute horror(In more than one way). Safe trips. XD

The DXM FAQ was my bible in my early drug years. And DXM was my drug of choice (in large part because it was all that was available).. I have a lot of fond memories of taking it, but when I remember it thoroughly there were many near fatal overdoses and combinations as well. Much of it I was an addicted depressed wreck and DXM in high 2nd and low third as well as sigma were my feel better zones if I wasnt exactly the most functional. That was 10 to 15years ago and a of other drugs have been my DOC and usage over the years but in the last 5 I developed Schizoaffective and now when I take DXM its very disphoric and easily induces panic attacks. It used to feel so good now it feels so bad and frankly Im glad its no longer addictive. Im now cleaner and happier and healthier theses days.. But DXM will always hold a sacred place in my heart.
