Cosmonaut Variety Hour is really dumb...that's really all there is to it, he never really fact checks his videos and neither do his fans. This video is covering one of his videos named "Return of the Jedi: Why it Sucks" it may be a 5 year old video but honestly I don't care it's an awful video with mind numbingly stupid criticisms and I haven't seen anybody talk about this video so I decided to make one.....I'm sure someone has made a video about this but I couldn't find any so that's why I'm making this one.

Also the acting in the sequels is actually good it's the script is what's the problem I mean look at the prequels with George's Lucases dialouge and I have to admit daisy ridley is trying and she's only really bad in the rise of skywalker and that movie is defintly one of the worst but here's my list for all the star wars movies.

I used to appreciate CVH, although I didn't agree with his views on Raimi's Spider-Man that didn't push me back back from his content, until he said that the LOTR Trilogy is overrated and that was enough to change my mind towards him. No wonder why he always gets backlash he has no tastes.

Seems like a lot of this guys problems with the film derives from him not paying attention to the damn film.
Huh? Lando was part of the team that rescued Han, he saved Leia and Chewy from being imperial prisoners, and he helped save Luke from Cloud City even though he didn't even know him at the time. Chewy, Leia and Luke would have all vouched for Lando and explained the Empire put him in an awful situation.
I don't hate Cosmonaut. I like listening to him, and his video "Why 2017 Death Note sucks" is one of my favorites. But I also don't 100% like him. Some of his criticisim is a litle exagerated and he takes some things way too seriously. That's the problem with him. But in rest he is ok.

An actual critique I noticed recently is that Vader’s motives are kind of shifted from ROTJ and TESB. When he tries to turn Luke the first time, he talks about overthrowing the Emperor, and then they could both rule as father and son. But when the events of Jedi roll around, he’s right back to talking about him just joining the Emperor and turning to the dark side. Did the Emperor confront him and punish him for experiencing thoughts of rebelling against his master? If so, that could’ve been something interesting to see, wether in a scene or even just mentioned in brief dialogue. Oh well, this films still an 8/10 for me. Definitely not a 6/10 like Cosmonaut’s
I believe it’s because he failed to turn Luke in ESB. Vader probably thought that the Emperor would be able to do it more successfully than he did. I’m not sure though. That’s what I think at least.
Return of the Jedi is my favourite movie because it’s beautiful, awesome, cinematically funny and thematically pleasing, and the ending was beautiful as well as the Ewoks

@@Kraemerrr That's one way of seeing it, after all Vader does get progressively less angry and violent as the films go on. And he did suspiciously spare one of the officer's lives at the end of the film despite him excessively killing the others earlier.
I never saw him as wanting to overthrow the emperor in the first place. given he talks about how the Emperor knows what he was about to do on cloud city only for things to not pan out. But that's how I saw it.
Lastly, while it is true George Lucas didn't plan everything out exactly at the beginning per say. He did plan out a redemption arc for Vader to occur in the third movie when he wrote Empire's outline in 77. So the plot of the two films are deeply connected.
@@dancingvalkyrie plot is plenty consistent. Vader tried to get Luke to join him. He got shut down to the point Luke was willing to die to not join him. That’s quite a shakeup. Enough that he thinks he needs the Emperor’s help (and thus goes along with the plan) to turn Luke.
More simply, if the end of The Empire Strikes Back didn’t affect Vader at all, THAT would have been an inconsistency.
41:21 He doesn’t literally mean that’s the ONLY thing wrong with this movie. When he said the whole opening isn’t exciting, she didn’t literally mean that NOTHING exciting happened in it. You kept going back to that when he praised the rancor fight.

In 10:47 of the video. I'm glad Rogue One was the best and only Disney Star Wars film that was different, original, did something new and succeed it. I don't understand the hate for Rogue One, sure it has flaws and issues, but its so much better than the god awful, trash of the Sequel Trilogy and Solo.

Bruh wtf, I mean in my opinion, Return of the Jedi is my favorite from the originals. I mean I know obviously, The Empire Strikes Back is a goat but to me, Return of the Jedi was amazing. Addressing the subject of Han Solo at the beginning of the movie he is along 4 the ride only because he’s been out of the action 4 at least a year stuff has happened between Chewbacca who was in the same prison with Han n was able to bring him up to speed about Luke’s plan to rescue them which is more then I can say 4 Leia’s plan it would not b beyond reason that Chewy told Han about Lando being involved in the plan Toto get them out n this would b verified by Luke later when the Rebel Alliance gathers together Han is more at ease with Lando implying that he talked with others about Lando n that he found out what all Lando 4 the Alliance

It's entirely possible Luke saw the events that would happen in Jabba's Palace in ROTJ, seeing into the future and predicting it *accurately* seems to be a Skywalker Family trait, Anakin was able to Pod Race because of it & could predict his opponents moves before they happened, like Qui-Gon said, he could see his Mother's & Padmé's deaths, Luke saw the Torture of his friends on Bespin while he was training on Dagobah before it happened, & Leia was able to see that Ben would turn to the Dark Side & stopped her Jedi Training, and Luke also looked into the future while probing Ben's mind while Ben was possibly dreaming of that future Luke Saw.
Yeah I don't like the Sequels, but they cemented the fact that Skywalker's at least are so powerful in the force that they can look into the future & see the events that are most likely to play out very clearly, other Jedi like Yoda can do this too, but they aren't as naturally gifted in the force as the Skywalkers so the future isn't as clear to them as it seems to be for the Skywalkers.
So based on the current canon, yeah it's entirely plausible Luke saw the events in Jabba's palace & Barge as the most likely scenario that would play out, yes the future is always in motion, but the Skywalker's seem to be able to predict it pretty accurately compared to other force users.

Palpatine screaming and shocked from Vader betrayal proves that palpatine in TROS isn’t canon. George Lucas knew he made a mistake adding a scream for Luke in ESB for the special editions when he fell. He realized it contradicted his character motivation and changed it back. This is why the backstory to palpatine coming back makes zero sense. He clearly didn’t have a backup plan to return from the dead successfully. Or else he would be gleefully laughing to his death in ROTJ knowing he isn’t defeated.

I mean he’s literally like so ATST’s get destroyed by boulders or something like that, and counts that as a sin. When all he’s doing is just reiterating what’s going on on screen 🤣. Pretty good video. Only thing I didn't agree with was your comment about Boba Fett in the new show. I agree, the exeuction of BoBF could've been a lot better, but I actually like how they handled him in the show. He had a pretty solid arc in my opinion.
First off there’s nothing to suggest that all of this was Luke’s plan if anything it strikes me as Leia tried to go in early to get Han out n she got caught in the act of rescuing Han Luke already had Lando, C-3PO n R2-D2 inside especially with R2 carrying Luke’s lightsaber it was Leia who jumped the gun on the plan

Return of The Jedi is best Star Wars and has no flaws. Ewoks are fucking awesome and bad ass. Empire Strikes Back is great but massively overrated. Empire Strikes Back is not perfect.
Here are the flaws in Empire Strikes Back that hold it back:
The Asteroid sequence is boring.
The movie can be a bit too slow at times. It needed more action.
The movie is very uneventful and feels like a setup movie rather than focusing on what’s going on currently in the moment and feels very inconsequential.
If you watched A New Hope and skipped to Return of The Jedi you wouldn’t miss a thing.
The lightsaber fight is a huge improvement but it’s very predictable. Even when I was a kid I knew Luke was going to get his ass kicked.

The prequels had a solid outline/plan, the problem with the prequels were the execution. The sequels had no plan whatsoever and it's riddled with more issues than just bad dialogue. The things I'll say that's good in the sequels is that the visuals/production look nice and the music for TFA and TJL was good but that's about it. The story is recycled from the original trilogy with a different paint job and the two movies were just a pissing contest between two directors. Has the prequels ever tried to deconstruct Star Wars as much as TLJ?

9 is the worst movie, no doubt. The prequels have some of the worst and inconsistent dialogue. The originals are only lacking cause they're getting out of date, but 4,5,6 is the most cohesive. 4 is the most boring cause the stakes are weaker, especially knowing the Death Star is just back the next movie lol.
Ehhh. I think Episode 1 and Episode 2 are the worst Star Wars movies. I'll take all three Sequels over those first two Prequels. And I'll take Episode 7 over Episode 3.

He had his character arc in ESB, cosmonaut saying he should’ve died there isn’t shallow writing, it’s actually good. His character has his narrative climax at that point, that’s when killing a character is not only fine, but good.

A lot of the responses to Cosmonaut's critiques just sound like coping over someone pointing out what is really wrong with a "classic" film like ROTJ. Things like Luke's plan against Jabba or the gross misuse of Leia and Han or the fucking ewoks just can't be ignored or defended. When you compare ROTJ to ESB, the flaws become so obvious when you're not being a fanboy.

Also, While Luke's plan against Jabba does have some holes, they are very exaggerated given that knowing the details behind said plan isn't necessary and the same can be said about the other two movies as well. The trench run and Hoth Battle have loads of holes in them (and I'd argue more too). As for Han, I feel there is not much they could have done with him up to that point other then come up with ideas to win and fight. Leia I will admit I feel didn't contribute as much as she could have but that's just me, plus Leia was always the weak link in the OT Star Wars cast (at least for me). But still, I wouldn't call that miss-used.
And lastly, the Ewoks are fine. Ewok hate is just a trend nerds like to jump on just to make themselves look cool. The previous two movies had lots of weird cutesy characters too, and they were there to push the story forward and make a statement on how high technology isn't always necessary to achieve your goals.
And besides, Empire had things like The Empire's plan on Hoth, the underwhelming scenes inside the asteroid (the Han and Leia stuff in Empire is overrated in my opinion), and small moments (Not big like Episode 8) where Luke can be a little out of character. Luke Skywalker should not be saying lines like "Good Luck" or "You're Lucky".
