@@gregorywilson4231 You, and almost everybody assume that any dictatorial or totalitarian system is "Fascist." Mussolini and Giovanni Gentile presented fascism as an economic theory. It is not alt-right. It is a social theory where the rights of the individual are subordinated to those of the State. They write: Liberalism denied the State in the name of the individual. Fascism reasserts the rights of the State as expressing the real essence of the individual. They invented it. It is not necessarily totalitarian.

"Fascism reasserts the rights of the State as expressing the real essence of the individual" ------ this is exact definition of the TOTALITARIAN SYSTEM.
States NEVER can express THE REAL essence of the individual. Don't be confuse by different names of the TOTALITARIANISM. Those names are : "SOCIALISM, COMMUNISM, MARXISM. FASCISM. There are ONLY TWO systems exists: FREE SOCIETY & TOTALITARIANISM. "Free Society has a CAPITALISM as an economical embodiment of the free society. (somebody is trying to fundamentally change it, by the way) Free society always put INDIVIDUALISM at the TOP. So, whenever you hear (or read) that the "STATE expresses individual needs the best" is a LIE. Entire history of the humanity shows that "Totalitarianism" has a centralized POLITICAL AND ECONOMICAL structure, which never been pleasant for population and always has been great for lying RULERS. @@deepcosmiclove

Mussolini actually worked for British intelligence service in 1917, they paid him 100 pounds per week (around 10k today) to write pro-British and warmongering propaganda in WW1. Once an agent, always an agent.

@gregorywilson4231 Fascism gets its name from the fasces (tied bundles of rods topped by an ax blade]) that were carried before the Emperors of Rome as a symbol of their authority. And today, there are two 6' tall bronze fasces flanking the rostrum in the U.S. House of Representatives in our own Rome II. In addition, the Mace of the House is paraded around the chamber before every session begins; that mace is a modern version of the aquila standard that Roman legions carried into battle and just like that ancient counterpart, the Mace of the House is also topped by an Eagle with outstretched wings! The mace is the ultimate symbol of power in the House of Representatives, since if a member of Congress refuses to follow rules of conduct, under the order of the Speaker the Sergeant at Arms will carry that mace and carry it before the offending member. And if they don't shut up, they will be physically expelled from the chamber. Rarely used, the last time the mace was presented thus was before Rep. Maxine Waters, who at least on that singular occasion did shut her mouth.

My uncle took a picture of Mussolini, his supposed right hand man, and mistress hanging upside down by their feet after their execution. He had laminated it between two pieces of airplane glass. He was to leave it to me after his death, however when I inquired, it was missing. He had told me that the Italians did not want Mussolini captured by the Americans, because of what he may reveal during an interrogation. They scoured the mountains and routed him out of a cave and executed him before ally’s could interrogate him. He and the other two where hung upside down by their feet in a show of Italian disgrace. I would liked to have donated this picture to a WWII museum.

A lot of Italians still love him because he tried to make a nation, and a strong one. What the Italian partisans didn’t like is that he got killed a lot of soldiers trying to take land, which he could not do alone. That usually happens when fail at the one thing you tried to do and Italians were there much pissed. After they cooled down they realized that this man tried his hardest to rebuild Rome, yes he failed but he tried to help the people by getting rid of the mafia and getting more farmland, more money for the state and a bigger navy, Air Force and army. The Italians were also pissed because they switch sides to the allies in World War I and were promised land. They did not get. So Benito Mussolini promised to rebuild the Roman Empire. Which ergo taking overland. The Italians knew that he just lost a lot of soldiers in the process of taking over no land. A lot of Italians still liked him.

Everyone still talks about Hitler and the Nazi's, but no one mentions Mussolini. Everyone want to pile on the generational guilt to the German people, but nobody says anything to the Italians. Mussolini wanted to be just like Hitler, and even used Hitler's invasion of Poland as inspiration for for an invasion of Greece. The difference was that Mussolini was a fool. Every time Hitler bailed him out with more troops and equipment, Mussolini still failed through arrogance and complacency. The best bit was that at no point did any of the Allies consider him or his troops "dangerous". Mussolini was an opportunist who though he could grab a slice of the cake while the Allies were busy fighting Hitler. He soon found out that he had bitten off more than he could chew.

Luckily for Gibson, she didn't attempt to kill the president of the United States. Mussolini felt pity for Gibson, and simply returned her to her well to do family in Ireland. Had Gibson shot the president of the U.S., or God forbid Stalin, well let's just say things wouldn't have turned out so well for her. Gibson's family in Ireland had her placed in a mental hospital.
