Efficiency is quite impressive - an engine to drive at 140km/h for lowest fuel consumption with nice comfort and low rev, so low noise level. Perfect engine for Austria or Switzerland, even great in Germany or Netherlands. And it is NOT a Renault engine! I would buy this car for relaxed business trips with speeder set at 140 km/h
On my previous W211 (which had a 5g tronic) I used to clean the intake manifold along everything around it once every 4 oil changes and everything was pretty clean with the throttle body absolutely shinning. On my current w212 which has a 7G-Tronic gearbox, I do the same thing but once every 2 oil changes, which is every 20k kilometers. The difference in oily carbon buildup is significantly higher and the reason is the gearbox. The more gears you have, the lower the rpm, and that's gonna allow higher deposits to build up on a shorter period of time. There are probably a lot more factors that contribute to that that I don't know about but that's the main thing that allows the car to have better fuel economy and be reliable for longer due to the lower revs which mean the engine's turning far less frequent while cruising at the same speed. I can't imagine how much quicker the deposits are gonna build up with a 9 speed transmission. If you keep a close eye on your vehicle and perform a regular service without waiting for lights to pop up on your dashboard, your car's gonna last for a long time. The W211 which I still own to this day, hit 915k kilometers and it still runs and purrs like a kitten but I kept it serviced accordingly. It's also got the original DPF which still works perfectly fine, which is also quite impressive.
Funny how a lot of guys say that a 1.6 is embarassing ! its a lot more funny that the 1.6L accelerates faster than the 2.0 xD mine is coming in 4 weeks :D best car for rental use !
220d is more stronger and powerful than 200d, but not much difference. 200d was good too :) it was good/normal sound, not so much noise. try to test drive first, then you can decide to buy
e300de/300e is maybe possible soon but we will see where and when we have time, Octavia RS maybe soon or next year, if its availabe, and S90 t8 is very rare here in germany

@@TESTDRIVEFREAK not really interested in the sedan, I just wanted to see the new exterior lights on the new SQ5 lol. But it’s alright, awesome channel still.
It's actually Mercedes own engine this time. They replaced the 2.0 diesel with 150hp with a new 1.6 diesel with 160hp which will probably phase through to all 200d models. Displacement isn't everything, surely the extra 10hp and 40Nm are of more importance...
@@Edvard.Munchkin Well the only thing that could suffer is the low end off boost torque (below 1300-1400 rpm). And it's a torque converter automatic so it doesn't matter at all I guess since it will never be lugged down to notice. BTW this is NOT a Renault engine, this is the OM654 1.6. Based on the OM654 2.0 liter engine, but with a smaller Bore and shorter Stroke. Pretty much everything else is the same

Unbelievably low consumption and great performance for a heavy car like e series 👏 engineering wonder
Because there are 9 forward gears, it provides lower fuel power as it keeps the revs low.

Engineering masterpiece.. Fantastic long travel car for the ones who drives like responsible adult human beings. ;)
Thats was how a video should be made of a car introduction !
Fast and economic for such a big car and small engine. For taxi and rental it's a deal.

Finally a relevant test
By the way - very professional and great video. Thanks! 😊
Very gud perfomance for 1.6 dizel engine.
0-100 km/h 8.4 secund
0-200 km/h 36.3 secund 👍
Scund dizel very gud brozer
Pity you did fuel consumption test in sport mode. Probably would have been slightly better in C or E
Do you remember how works standard led? Is it aceptable visibility or poor?
Looks like great alternative to 2.0 liter engine
Hello
big difference with the 220D? (class e 2021)
Noise? driving pleasure?
Thank you

Do i need Android Auto or Apple Car Play to make full screen in navigation mode?
Why sport mode?
Nice video!! 🔥
Is that 1.6 is renault engine like the old ones?
No, I am 99% sure the 1.6 Renault engines only came up until -2018. After that 1.6 are Mercedes engine
Did you know that you made the fuel consumption test in sport mode not in comfort?
sport mode doesn't affect consumption, in comfort it just wants the highest gear and sometimes you consume less in sport
Top speed 240?
can u make a test drive with an e300de/e300e or an octavia rs iv, s90 t8

Does Audi or BMW have this size engine for their A6 or 5 series??
Not for Audi, BMW 5 series have 1.6L - 170ps gasoline engine for some countries but nowhere near as efficient like this.

In Portugal for 2liter diesel you pay around 240€ of tax, for a 1.6liter you pay around 140€...the choice is obvious...
E 200d 1.6 E 220d 2.0d
We pay in Turkey for one year for 2.0 390$ for 1.6 125$
We buy mercedes 1.6 diesel for 120.000$, 2.0 diesel for 179.000 usd 😊so you are very lucky.
How about a video of the new Audi SQ5? Thanks. (Preferably an white exterior color :)
