Very economical engine. Also very nice in combination with the 9G transmission. I am surprised, definetly enough Engine for an E-Class weighing about 1.65 tons.

Engine is fine for me, I live in Ireland, max allowed 120 kmh on motorway. Has similar power to my 2.0 Passat b8, actually this E class even faster so is perfectly adequate for my needs. Would prefer e220 but there is a nice e200 for sale near me...
And, did you buy it? :), i have one older from 2012, W212 E200CDI and i also think so its time to replace them maybe with another one, but this time i like to have some "upgrade" maybe to E220 or higher.
@@mh3273 Yes I bought it. Build quality is superb and you really feel special behind the wheel. Mine is hyacinth red metallic. Power is perfectly fine for everyday driving.

What would you guys say is it worth upgrading from a 2014 w212 to the newer models?
At the end it does the same, in the w213 just with more LEDs
yes the w212 has alot of maintenance issues so if its working good id sell it while its working and buy a w213 diesel eigther 220d or 300d depending on your performance needs
Im Vergleich mit meinem W212 E200CDI und seinen 136 PS wirkt der hier wie ein Rennauto :D

Yes it is, my sister bought e class 220d engine is so quiet
The 2,143l was harsh and unrefined...yes the 1.950l is impressive

@@AG-jh1ky 2.1 250 cdi had 204 hp, and 220d has 194 hp, 220 cdi had 177 hp so this new 2.0 diesle is much better

I believe the 2.1 has 3 versions, 136 hp base taxi engine to max 250 cdi (204 hp)
The 2.0 also comes in different versions, my estate has the ( 194 hp version) but I believe there’s also a 245 hp. Version. It’s quite confusing

It is a derivate of the OM654, so a MB production.

ja das stimmt schon, bei solche Auto Grösse soll mindestens 180 PS oder 200 PS haben, aber am Anfang Autobahn einfahrt war ja noch etwas bergauf, deswegen lange Elastizität Beschleunigung
@@TESTDRIVEFREAK mein Vater hatte mal einen A 200d als Überbrückungsdienstwagen und obwohl er wenn es geht immer 180-220 fährt hat er es mit dem nicht gemacht, weil der einfach zu lange braucht. Zum glück hat er jetzt nen c300de haha, da geht auch was

no this is all new mercedes engine from 2018
This engine is fully Merc, code OM654 D16. It is not Renault, while it is not necessary a bad thing, it is not. The problem maybe is the power for such a big car.

@@stefank9939 Nee das ist ne neue Version des OM654 also wirklich ein Mercedes-Motor... Aber außer in einer A-Klasse macht das keinen Sinn
@@stefank9939 Der erste 1.6l war von Renault. Der neue ist ein reiner MB Motor. Der Renault hatte maximal nur 136PS.

@@ThenameisOskar indeed but that is for purists, diehard mercedes fans. For normal people can be a dacia engine, all that matters is the badge. In the end we all go electric so it will not matter anymore the size or the power of the engine.

Eine E-Klasse sollte mal mindestens 200 ps unter der Haube haben. Ist ja peinlich mit den mickrigen 160 ps
Das war schon immer so, dass es Varianten unter 200 PS gab und die wurden am meisten gekauft. Deswegn musst du da irgendwo falsch liegen, wenn du das so behauptest.

ne :) Meinen hol ich in 4 wochen in stuttgart ab das ding ist nur zum Pendeln da :) 180 Tempomat und einen schönen sparsamen Verbrauch mit einer hammer Futuristischen ausstattung mehr soll das ding nicht können :D
