I had a Roadtrip with the facelift model combined with this engine. From southern germany to the most gorgeous places of tuscany. Made around 3000km. And I can state that the engine in combination with that amazingly geared 9 Speed Gearbox is just incredible. You can relax at 160 km/h whilst 9th gear is only at aprox. 1800rpm. The engine has a beautiful torque wave too. You‘ll never feel underpowered at any circumstances. I really thought that there will never be an adequate replacement for the legendary 2,1 L Mercedes Diesel Engines. But here you go, southern german engineering at it‘s finest. Made in Sindelfingen.
How reliable is this engine in time? Do you know maybe "problems" with this type of engine? I know some problems at mercedes with the add blue on some engines.
it is more then previous model with same engine on this same channel !! previous model have lower consumption and with touring version which are bigger
My tuned 220hp preLCI 220d was eating 7,4l on 160kmh in 9th gear on 1800rpm and 6,7l in 8th gear in SPORT on 2200 rpm ! Tested like 20-30 times, on 160 they consume 0,5l less fuel in 8th gear which is insane logic.
@@Dr1ftop1a so where is the problem ??!! let them build bigger engine into car!! previous gen E class with same engine have lower consumption on heavier E class touring
@@Dr1ftop1a bigger engine with less horse power!! that ones was normal 15-20+ years ago but they sayed it consume too much and now we have same problem but with lower litres engines
Indeed we have E200cdi from 2005, and we get much lower consumption.. This is garbage, I expected much more. I thought we would be at 3-5L/100km now. I get 5.5L@120kmph and around 7L@170-180kmph
We did it on very flat road from munich to deggendorf on a92 autobahn, you can check the sea level on google earth. Where do you live? I can check if your highway is very flat or very little uphill like 1% degree etc
@@TESTDRIVEFREAK I do a circular route and so end up at the same altitude as I started from. I live around Manchester in the UK. My car is only 1 week old and has 500 miles on it so maybe the engine is still tight.
Yes new engine consume bit more fuel until about 1200 mile or 2000 km. Do it on very flat road and then reset fuel consumption meter and drive about 1 mile then you can see how much fuel, but dont accelerate or braking and respeed etc.
consumption is actually terrible high from 160 up to 200km/h!! if you watch your previous video with E class from 2019 and touring version there consumption are 2 liter lower at 200km/h
The fuel consumption test was on rainy weather, with wet road maybe it effect more fuel, because of water on car body weigth bit more and wipers does break the aerodynamic lot that you can hear wipers making air sound at higher speed, and wet road with tyre need maybe more power to hold constant speed with cruise control, it can effect up to 1 or 2liter at higher speed
Also es wurde nicht viel geändert an dieses Auto gewechselt wurde Rückleuchten vorderleuchten und das Navigationssystem anders etwas gebaut mehr anderes nicht
It is all because of the environmental regulations, the put a lot of money for technical bullshit to please Greta Thunberg instead spending money on the interior materials.
Mercedes exterior division should be fired......such a wiered looking car......ugly rear......side wise it looks like Matel is falling off on the rear..... front light 🤮 It's even uglier than w210. Where r the guys who designed w124/211/212????

I was absolutely thrilled how clearly you can see the power domes on the bonnet, it looks like you're driving an AMG when you look ahead
Your videos are such good ASMR
I love your test videos, no talking, you show interior, exterior, speed, fuel consumption and its very simple! Good job! 👍🏻
It's really amazing 9,4 l at 180 km/h. More impressive than the 8,2 sec in 0-100 acceleration. I know, it was raining....good review!!!!

Even a moderate engine can do an amazing job.I wonder how it would feel to drive one of these on a long journey.
Comfortable and with good fuel consumption.
I just ordered the e220 sport 2021. These are super comfortable and fuel consumption is mind blowing. Easy 70mpg on motorways.
I'm from Saudi Arabia and I love your channel 👍🏻❤️
Thank you very much, i am glad that you love my channel 😊
How are you surviving in Saudi occupied Arabia with you name???.......it's amazing .
you are doing a very useful review,
less word, more work,
Can't you do a cabin sound test in the consumption test,
just a suggestion,
Thank you
cabin sound is so good for this car :)
Face lift E looks better than full change S class... : )

World best car 🥰👌
Super 220d
BMW and Audi are very happy with this new E class ☹️
Beautiful car idk why people hate this facelift soo much
I like it to and the new s class
Interior and exterior have no character anymore. Whether you are buying S or A class you get the same stuff, just less power and less tech
@@manbiteslife3110 Hasn't that always been the case?

I like this car.
I think this car suits the 3 litre diesel better. This engine seems better in the smaller C220 cdi.
Bon votier model Mercedes Benz.
The interior of this is better than that of BMW and Audi
Might be looking like that but touching thoses Mercedes interiors exposes the contrary.
What a nice car to be in.
Merci 👀👀✌
Круто!Спасибо!!!
E class Facelift , Nice video thank you very mutch
Damn, I wish the outlook will be better...
At finally some European car
