Make one on Israel Adesanya
@@georgeaghimien3234you keep commenting this on every video - completely disregarding whatever video you’re commenting on - and the more you do, the less I’m keen on actually making an Adesanya video.
@@clenchedteeth it will be very nice if you make one on Israel Adesanya since you make one on Pereira.
@@clenchedteeththank you for this. ... BJ Penn is the UFC Lightweight 🐐
GSP said he had a friend who broke down videos frame by frame to measure reaction time, reflexes and striking speed. He said BJ Penn was the fastest person in the UFC in all categories.
@billybussey he's retired
Yeah I saw that too it's insane
@@billybussey do you know what you are talking about?
Fastest *reaction time
The first round against gsp showed that when bj Penn was snapping his jab right after gsp jabbed and bj Penn was beating gsp to the punch even though gsp was jabbing first. Bj Penn has crazy reaction speed
BJ was one of the best fighters in UFC history, it was a pleasure growing up watching his fights. What a golden era.
He was a great fighter but not one of the best. 16W 14L lol
Bj Penn wasn’t just one of the best MMA fighters, but he was a Fighter! He was your favorite fighters…favorite fighter!
Well said 👏 respect
A man who helped shape the sport.
A true legend 🤘🤠
Dude won a World in Brazil! That's friggin amazing.
BJ Penn is my Favorite Fighter of all Time
And very polite in person.
Thank you for showing up, Mr. Penn.
Really cool to have met you in person.
Been watching since UFC 1......in shape BJ Penn best ive ever seen..
The Best of his Era. Hands down.
Man this is a great documentary. I absolutely loved watching BJ Penn in his prime. It was sad to watch the way it unraveled for him in the end. But in his prime he had such a killer instinct and was just a savage in the cage. He's definitely one of the greats and pioneers of the lightweight division that put it on the map.
Yeah man, Blow Job Penn was one of the best in the world back in the day. He was good for his generation, but as the skill level began to raise, it became apparent that he just couldn't compete. He would lose every single fight for nearly the last decade of his career and beating him held about as much weight as a guy beating Chick Magnet Punk.
The biggest shame is BJ was 10 years early and had he showed up 10 years later he would've made 10s of millions and unfortunately he stayed a few years too long ending with a 7 fight losing streak. He's still one of the greatest in my opinion.
@@closinginonclosure he also didnt fight in his weight class for majority of his downfall, probably the reason he went into a downfall
These documentaries are super well done, it's crazy
Thank you 🙏
Thank you BJ for you giving us a small piece of your mma greatness it had to be hard to go through the time when all these younger guys was coming up with so many different techniques but you held your own. Thank you my friend for giving so much ❤
BJ is definitely underrated.
P4P 🐐
what the shaved head has anything to do with his performance?@FUKZU
There will only be one BJ Penn. awesome documentary about the legend.
The morning after the Diego Sanchez fight, which coincidentally is both mine and BJ’s birthday, I sat down to watch the fight I recorded on Sky+ and was actually rooting for Diego. The fight starts and BJ immediately dropped Diego and I was just in awe of his performance the whole time. I had been thinking to try some training at that time as I had started watching MMA a few months before at UFC 101 when Anderson toyed with Forest and BJ beat up Florian.
I had just turned 15, I then bought BJ’s book and got hooked on the idea of jiujitsu, found a club and met my first bjj coach and mentor. I’m now 28, training and teaching jiujitsu for a living in a foreign country.
Thank you BJ for helping me find my passion, you’ll always be my favourite fighter.
What country??? What jiu-jitsu affliction???
That match with rory macdonald is what got me into watching the ufc
The version of BJ Penn that destroyed Joe Stevenson, Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian, and Diego Sanchez looked to be unbeatable at 155. Watching him at that time was seeing greatness, even after he lost to GSP in his bid to become the simultaneous double champ. But sadly, once he lost that drive, the train really went off the rails and the losses started piling up. Penn vs. Edgar 3 really solidified it for me. BJ's game plan, right down to that awkward upright boxing stance, was so confusing and ill-fated, but the fact that he kept coming back to lose badly was really hard to watch for anyone that saw how incredible he was during his prime. It doesn't take away from his successes, but those last few years were kind of depressing.
Someone listens to Joe Rogan lmao
@@krb0123 i forgot which fight it was but bj attempted a kick and his opponent caught it...bj spent the next 60 seconds hopping around on one leg burning cardio for nothing. he was gassed by the end of the round. at it was all downhill from there. early bj deserves praise....late carreer bj wasnt the same fighter.
Like many fighters do, He carried on past when he should have retired, takes nothing from him, He is a legend !
@@krb0123It's an uncontroversial opinion, especually to anyone who was watching throughout Penn's career. Did Joe, apart from also noticing these things, relay them in the same words verbatim or something?
@@krb0123especially (typo)
As a friend of BJ and having the opportunity of being in the background for a ton of these fights I'm forever grateful to the Penn family for their friendship and introducing me to a lot of the people that I still call friends and keep in touch with. Not every can say they were carried out by Mark Coleman after getting hit with a chair hahahaha.
BJ was fighting Rodrigo Gracie in the main event when it happened. I was in the back with Mark Coleman, Wes Sims, Pat Miletich and Tony Frykland. A brawl broke out in the stands so we ran out to break it up, on the video a chair comes flying and nails me in the side of the head. I don't remember much after that but you see Mark Coleman push through the crowd, lift my fat ass up and carried me to the back lol.
I've got tons; Right before BJ fought Renzo Gracie at K-1 we get an alert over our earpieces that Rickson Gracie is outside wanting to get in. Most of us thought it was BS cause we'd have known, but nope, he really was outside lol. The security guards were getting rough with him and we ran out and escorted him in, we told the security guards that we just saved their lives.
Another is taking Bruce Buffer, Larry Landless, John Hackleman, Frank Shamrock and Matt Lindland to the bar....that was the oddest group ever seen, they ended up going to a karaoke bar after and stayed there til noon the next day. They def needed to be helped back to their rooms.
MMA legend!!
Wonderful documentary 👏
A+
BJ Penn was and will always be one of the goats. Forget about his record, just follow his journey and you will realize how PHENOMENAL he really was. Skill wise he had it all naturally but when he was ON he was ON. The run through of stevenson, florian, sherk and sanchez was just pure destruction by perfection. There was nothing like a BJ Penn with a FULL Gas Tank... His losses were split decisions where most were questionabble. He was never really stopped. Only dude to fight welterweight, lightweight and Ligh Heavyweight. dude vwas a beast
Baby J was what Connor is now-days. You just wanted to hear and see what he was going to do next. He drew so many ppl in from so many walks of lives. That right there is legendary!
This put a smile on my face. I'm a big fan and remember the ups and downs. BJ you are the best.
He was a total stud, bat shit crazy but a total stud. I miss guys like BJ, they just don't make them like him anymore.
Who the fuck said he was underrated?! These new MMA fans be trippin.
You answered your own question
These new fans only know the current fighters. They don't take the time to go back and look at the legends who helped paved the way for today's athletes.
Hell yeah finally some BJ Penn content
Marinovich BJ is a world beater! My fav figther of all time. Never lost the 1st rd in his prime
1 of my first fav fighters for sure. In his prime he just had that aura
BJ Penn was the Shaquille O’Neal of MMA. One of the most naturally gifted and talented athletic freaks of nature in their respective sports that never reached their full potential due to their lack of effort put into training and dedicating themselves fully. Prime BJ would put up a good fight with any lightweight or even welterweight in MMA history.
bj is one of the best of all time in my opinion him gsp silva all made me fall in love with ufc i still have penns action figure got the pleasure to workout at the ufc gym in huntington beach where they have a fire mural of him🤞🏽 goat
Bj Penn appearance as like regular athlete but a warrior inside that's how I like him
So many fights against bigger opponents! True Warrior! I attended a seminar with him and he's just a nice regular guy willing to share knowledge with everyday guy like me.
All and All he's a HALL OF FAMER.
Bj was like Anderson Silva. A natural fighter that understood movement and had on point reaction time
Loved this video. BJ was one of the fighters I loved to watch. This video brought back so many memories.
Still remember him jumping out of the pool at chest high. That was insane. Still also remember going to buffalo wild wings to watch his PPV and there was a $5 cover fee as if we was going to the club lol.
I REALLY miss watching BJ... The guy was and still is a PURE fighter and I commend him for not going the PED route when everyone else was doing it, even as age became a factor...
A true champion and a noble man...🙏
BJ Penn in his prime was something special to watch, he was a true pioneer of the sport and a absolute legend & a inspiration to some many young upcoming fighters. 🫡 BJ you were special.
Penn/Pulver TUF def my favorite. BJ was straight comedy. Laughed every episode. ❤
Baby Jay is an absolute legend! He has always been my favorite fighter. I honestly don't feel like he gets the credit he deserves. He deserves the same legend status as GSP
Such an animal , one of the GOAT'S.
Love your stuff. Keep 'em coming.
I've followed BJ's career from the early days to (sadly) the parking lot fights. I remember the night he beat Diego, who was considered the next big thing. The thought was he had totally cleaned out the 155 division. Unfortunately that was his peak and after that came the losses to Frankie and he was never as dominant and good again. For sure one of the greatest to ever do it.
the third Hughes fight seemed to be the end for both guys' careers
I love the cut with the beats… then you cut to Penn rolling tuff in his dented up ford ranger! That’s awesome.
BJ would have been the first simultaneous double Champ in UFC history if he won the rematch with GSP. 8 years before Mcgregor did it.
BJ is the OG BMF and he paved the way for guys like Max
BJ Penn & Max Halloway 2 UFC Alltime Greats from a small State like Hawaii ! Is Hawaii Boys get action because how we raised on these islands 💯🤙🏼
Brilliant channel, really enjoying it 😊
Prime Penn was one of the most versatile fighters back in the day. Solid boxing, heavy hands and high level black belt.
Great video. Respect to BJ, I wouldn’t be a ufc fan without him. Legendary and he would be as big as Connor if he was fighting today. One of the few fighters that could lose a fight and still seem to get bigger.
Wow! He is a legend champion and martial arts warrior! He's always been one of my favourite fighters! In my humble opinion one of the greatest! It's a shame the people underrated him and he was not acknowledged for what he achieved until he retired and what Joe Rogan said it's the hights a fighter reached that they should be judged on..and Bj Penn took it to some of the highest levels!
Legend. So exciting to watch
My ABSOLUTE all-time favorite!!!
Great documentaries bro keep it up
Thank you 🙏
You're doing awesome work with these documentaries
Thank you 🙏
Awesome...
Enjoy your chillax days and congrats on your HOF Sir....💯💐😎🤙🏽🙏🏽❣️
The only guy I've seen jumps out off the pool onto concrete 🔥...!!
Hawaiian made his mark no doubt!!! BJ to be 1 of the best fighters to come out of Hawaii!!
BJ Penn is a true legend in MMA, known for his remarkable accomplishments inside the octagon. His dedication to the sport and his relentless pursuit of excellence have left an indelible mark on the MMA world.
What's equally inspiring is his unwavering love for Hawaii, his home and a place close to his heart. Penn's connection to Hawaii transcends the sport; it's a testament to his deep roots and pride in his heritage.
I'd also like to extend a sincere thank you to the Clenched Teeth channel for providing a platform to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of extraordinary individuals like BJ Penn in the world of mixed martial arts.
Best regards,
KC
Well done content, informative and entertaining 👏
He was my idle ! He was my first favorite fighter in mma ! I was so happy when they inducted him in hall of fame !
*Idol
Legend
Hughes, Saint Pierre and BJ Penn all at Welterweight at the same time is like when Sugar Ray , Thomas Hearns & Roberto Duran was all at Welterweight at the same time !
i just want to say that I've been watching for a while and god damn dude, pat yourself on the back, other than some off sounding narrators, this narrator is great btw, your videos are phenomenal for your channel size, I don't even watch UFC but I love the background and career documentaries of them, and you've got me interested in MMA, thank you and keep up the amazing work
AMAZING video
BJ Penn is a Savage one of the greatest fighters of all
Very good documentary 👍🏻
awesome content
Great video
Thanks brother!
BJ Penn will forever be my GOAT 🐐
BJ’s most dangerous adversary was himself. Thing is, he did what he did in his career without great cardio and discipline. Just imagine a BJ Penn with the discipline of a GSP throughout his career??😳
Man it hurt watching the end of his career
This channel is one of the reasons I watch UA-cam on my TV. Lol great content
Truly honored 🙏 thank you!
Great content
BJ PENN THE LEGEND
The real top G of MMA this guy
Remembering a legend
Phenom!
I love this man!
Loved BJ Penn!
Legend 🌎🏆👊
One of my favorites
Birds fly , fishes swim, I fight- Bj Penn🐐🔥
Baddest quote right there
Sick video! Prime BJ was ridiculous
BRO I BEEN WATCHIN UR SHIT NON STOP! great work bro
Love to hear! Thank you brother!
He was good when the bar in the spirt was set lower overall. As soon as the first early iteration of the modern mixed martial artist began to blossom, Blow Job Penn wasn't able to compete. He rode out nearly the last decade of his fighting career without a sigle win. The guy was even getting slept in bar fights, and that's not a joke, unfortunately.
His grappling was next level the way he could dominate high level wrestlers was crazy
Bj penn one of the best of best in mma ✌🏻💯
Your best video so far
Really nailed it on the head with everything.
Thank you for this 🙏
For the time that BJ Penn was dominant he was a fucking Savage I literally wish his reign would have lasted longer
Great work ! I have watched all you’re videos . Can you do Anthony Pettis?
That's a pretty crazy statement when you just lost a fight. I went to the club and he went to the hospital.. Whoever is going to the hospital in that scenario should definitely have lost the fight..
So proud of BJ....always loved him...SUPER proud of his political stances and ambition...BJ for Governor, and throw that crooked governor in jail for Maui
Great natural talent the only thing he has missing was cardio. If BJ had a gas tank he would of dominated GSP and who knows how high his potential would of reached, that’s scary.
If he hadn’t lost, he would have won.
At 155 in his prime he had great cardio, he smashed Sanchez for 5 rounds, who at the time also had great cardio
He had great cardio with GSP. GSP just used it as a weapon and had more
* would have
In his prime nobody had better cardio.
Legend.🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When he wasn't fighting gsp I loved this guy
BJ Penn will always be the man
Bj choking out Hughs at UFC 46 was the first event I bought, money well spent despite a fubar main event.
Great Fighter Big heart ♥️
R. Grace, Penn, GSP my top 3 of all time..
