His first seven had multiple Super Bowls and was one of the greatest playoff QBs of all time, with lesser stats but great team performance and being one of the most clutch playoff QBs ever. He was one of the best playoff QB ever during these years, with multiple come back wins and top 10 in terms of playoff wins during this span (not countimg rhe next 14 years). His second seven years was probably his best statistically, the Marino era. No Super Bowl wins but multiple MVPs and some of the best stats in the NFL during that time. The third span was a bit of a hybrid, more Super Bowl victories than the previous 14 years, with passing yardage in the top 50 amongst QBs all time and multiple seasons of 30 or more TDs that would put him in the Top 10 all time (even more now, given the last two seasons were statistically great). Likely first ballot hall of famer for the second and third sections of his career, and a likely hall of famer during the first section.The fact that over half of Brady's Super Bowl wins came after this documentary is amazing, given that he was pretty much revered here. Still, the level of consistency Brady demonstrated throughout the career and the level of success achieved during his career. Being able to turn one of the greatest underdog stories into a career with his level of success and accolades is nothing short of amazing.

That team only drafted him because he was still there. They never saw anything in tom except to trade him away later. Proof is this is when Robert resigned Drew to a 10-year $100 million dollar contract. Patriots got super lucky with Tom.

One of the few opposing QB's I admired highly. He never was "cocky" , he tried to instill confidence that a win was possible no matter what to his team and he may not have had the best arm, speed or build, but he had the mind to see, read and react. It's his lack of smugness and work ethic that everyone should strive to have.

Tom Brady wasn't a late bloomer. He was always superb. Drew Henson was just the best QB in his HS class and the Big Ten was the dominant college football conference of the 90s. Lloyd Carr handled the situation logically. Brady got himself drafted in the 6th round by not going to Cal and being a 3+ year starter because he was so competitive and wanted to go to a Top 5 team and beat out some of the best HS QBs on the depth chart. I respect the fire, but he made it harder on himself, even though playing in the Big Ten prepared him perfectly for going against NFL defenses.

The two are still very close friends to this day. He sends Brady bottles of wine from his vineyard. Brady visits with the family when he comes thru. I saw an interview where Brady n Drew both spoke to that friendship they still have. Brady credits Drew for helping him prepare for certain matchups and pre snap reads in that first Superbowl run.

I watched this years ago and have recommended this documentary to people dozens of times since. I could easily say this is one of the best sports documentary I’ve ever seen. Incredibly insightful and well put together. I hated seeing what he did to the Atlanta Falcons in that infamous super bowl, but just damn you can’t help but respect his greatness. Great job 👍🏼
Most powerful part of the documentary was when Brady starts to cry when remembering draft day. The man had won three Super Bowls and the MVP award at that point and he was still in tears thinking about to draft day 10 years before. That chip on his shoulder will always be there and is what drives him to be the greatest.

Your chances of making the roster frankly isn't any higher as a late round pick than an undrafted free agent. The NFL scouting departments and combine still do not get the QB position; the other positions as well, but especially the QB position. What set Tom Brady apart was a few things, but his most important attributes are how he reacts to stress and the quickness that he processes that said stress. Yes, it can most commonly be referred to as "fight- or -flight" response. The only guy that I can really see doing that in college this past year is Tua. I think Burrow will bust, I think Herbert will bust, I think Love will bust. I've not take the time to look at all the other guys, but as far as those guys Tua is the only guy that is high quality in that area. He is missing some of the other things that made Brady , Brady.. but Tua is the best of the top 5 quarterback prospects this year

They really didn't know anything. Professional scouts looking at sprints, vertical jump and muscle mass for their QB. Now that's incredibly stupid metrics to measure a QB by. Who cares if he is skinny. In American sports, there is an obsession with measurables which is why the scouts mess up so often.

This is pretty funny. The draft is just televised job interview. As HR, it’s a given that all you would care about is measurable metrics. How else would you be able to keep your job if you pick based on your instinct? If you had to pick between 2 guys as someone in HR, one comes from a prestigious school and the other from an ordinary school but overcome his social economic status or some kind of disability to get there, there’s not much reason to pick the latter. You have to justify your choice to your boss to keep your own job. It’s a matter of luck, you get some right and some wrong. Some winners turned out to be a burst much in the same way, while some nameless undrafted players rise to hall of fame.

I love the story of one Jon Kitna. Class act guy all the way! ALL his teammates liked him. I met him one day while celebrating my friend Ed's birthday (linebacker CWU) at our favorite tavern. He showed up , out of the blue just to wish Ed a happy birthday, didn't drink , stayed just a few minutes. But I understood right away. HE CARED about his teammates. Even on Defense. Thats a real leader, a real man right there.
As a lifelong Pat's fan, I wish him the best, he gave us an amazing 20 years. Two decades of love and great memories. Six rings, and 9SB appearance's. Pat's were in the hunt every year. No matter how bad thing's got, he always had ice water in his veins and never gave up. He pulled off some true miracles. Im still going to be a Tom Brady fan even with his new team. I really hope he takes the Buc's to the Superbowl.

His first seven had multiple Super Bowls and was one of the greatest playoff QBs of all time, with lesser stats but great team performance and being one of the most clutch playoff QBs ever. He was one of the best playoff QB ever during these years, with multiple come back wins and top 10 in terms of playoff wins during this span (not countimg rhe next 14 years). His second seven years was probably his best statistically, the Marino era. No Super Bowl wins but multiple MVPs and some of the best stats in the NFL during that time. The third span was a bit of a hybrid, more Super Bowl victories than the previous 14 years, with passing yardage in the top 50 amongst QBs all time and multiple seasons of 30 or more TDs that would put him in the Top 10 all time (even more now, given the last two seasons were statistically great). Likely first ballot hall of famer for the second and third sections of his career, and a likely hall of famer during the first section.The fact that over half of Brady's Super Bowl wins came after this documentary is amazing, given that he was pretty much revered here. Still, the level of consistency Brady demonstrated throughout the career and the level of success achieved during his career. Being able to turn one of the greatest underdog stories into a career with his level of success and accolades is nothing short of amazing.

Tom Brady wasn't a late bloomer. He was always superb. Drew Henson was just the best QB in his HS class and the Big Ten was the dominant college football conference of the 90s. Lloyd Carr handled the situation logically. Brady got himself drafted in the 6th round by not going to Cal and being a 3+ year starter because he was so competitive and wanted to go to a Top 5 team and beat out some of the best HS QBs on the depth chart. I respect the fire, but he made it harder on himself, even though playing in the Big Ten prepared him perfectly for going against NFL defenses.

Most powerful part of the documentary was when Brady starts to cry when remembering draft day. The man had won three Super Bowls and the MVP award at that point and he was still in tears thinking about to draft day 10 years before. That chip on his shoulder will always be there and is what drives him to be the greatest.

Not sure why he was afraid of going undrafted. It's better to go undrafted and pick the best team to sign with than get drafted into an awful situation in the 5th, 6th or 7th round. Plenty of 5th, 6th, 7th round rookies get cut in their first training camp and preseason.

Your chances of making the roster frankly isn't any higher as a late round pick than an undrafted free agent. If he had gone undrafted, Brady would've been considered a priority UDFA with at least a few offers.

The NFL scouting departments and combine still do not get the QB position; the other positions as well, but especially the QB position.
What set Tom Brady apart was a few things, but his most important attributes are how he reacts to stress and the quickness that he processes that said stress. Yes, it can most commonly be referred to as "fight- or -flight" response.
The only guy that I can really see doing that in college this past year is Tua. I think Burrow will bust, I think Herbert will bust, I think Love will bust. I've not take the time to look at all the other guys, but as far as those guys Tua is the only guy that is high quality in that area.
He is missing some of the other things that made Brady , Brady.. but Tua is the best of the top 5 quarterback prospects this year

It annoys me Brady should be shown to every young kid in school to show even if most people do not believe in you if you want it you can make it happen. Did not have the natural ability of other quarterbacks but he mad himself the greatest of all time.

This is pretty funny. The draft is just televised job interview. As HR, it’s a given that all you would care about is measurable metrics. How else would you be able to keep your job if you pick based on your instinct? If you had to pick between 2 guys as someone in HR, one comes from a prestigious school and the other from an ordinary school but overcome his social economic status or some kind of disability to get there, there’s not much reason to pick the latter. You have to justify your choice to your boss to keep your own job. It’s a matter of luck, you get some right and some wrong. Some winners turned out to be a burst much in the same way, while some nameless undrafted players rise to hall of fame.
