Recently, Donner sent me this awesome electronic drum kit to test out. I think it's great for young drummers who want to begin learning the drums. It doesn't have many bells or whistles, but at this price, they're not needed. It's compact, simple, and ideal for a young drummer's first electronic drum set (and it's not as loud as a real kit).

My fiance bought this kit for me for Christmas...im not a drummer ...im a guitarist....l played for 2 hours had a blast....sounds like drums to me 👍
Sounds like drums to me is probably the best I can describe the sound of any drums right now.
I'm getting this for my bday. im also a guitarist. how has your experience been now that some time has past?
I'm a 70+ year old "Kid" and I have this exact kit. I live in a small apartment and this kit is perfect! I dont get the "too small" bit as most practice pads are smaller! He's right about the throne and you'll need a rug.
Hey you are 70+ year YOUNG.
Keep it up man!
Cheers mate you’ve got 20 years on me but also a flat dweller.
Rock on dude 🤙
a young child.... me a 25 year old thinking this was cool and affordable
Me too! I just want a cheap set to get into drums.
It is. I'm 37 and this kit is not only affordable, but quiet and saves you a lot of space. Wifey doesn't mind it at all, compared to my main set 😂.
@@izzystuart7798this is literally your best choice. I wish I had this option when I started. Get it and practice your butt off every day! Rock on! 👊
Im 41 and i just bought the ded-70 which is even smaller than this lol. Drums are drums if you just want to practice and play around
This was really helpful. Just bought this for my 10 year olds 11th birthday and it's still in box atm. Think he's gonna have fun with it! Thanks for the review
Glad I could help! That's awesome!
I just got the ded 80 for Christmas.....I love it
Awesome I hope it works well for you 👋🏻
Hello. Do you know if I can use a pad for the kick pedal (to use double pedal) instead of the switch?
Lets go! Hope it’s decent.
Can the high hat pedal be changed for double bass? My 11 year old is going to want to start jamming Pantera riffs with me as soon as possible lol.
It probably can but usually then you have to assign your ride as a hat hat or do without the hats. The pedal switch will also change the hi hat pad to a kick on a kit in this price range.
I'm curious if I can use this unit via USB/Midi to trigger my VST sounds (eg. Steven Slate) within my DAW?
hello bro, im asking the same !
I got one on lunch today, well the ded-70 anyways, when i get home this evening and set it up, ill let ya know how it interfaces with reapers midi controller functions if at all 👍
It does, use USB to connect it with the daw and use it’s sounds
how do you connect it?
You said ded 70, the video says ded 80... I thought one of these is for small kids?
I'm 6ft 2..im lookin for one for clone hero.. Which of these is good for that?
Absolute newbie here. When you say “too small”, do you mean that the rack makes the stuff be too close together? Would a custom made mounting system solve the “too small” problem? Or am I missing something all together?
The pads are quite small. I bought it for my son and I tried it out. Easy to hit the sides of the pads.
@@DeliriumPulseI got it and at first I thought the same, but it's actually helpful with speed and accuracy.
can it trigger samples?
Is there an output that fits a 1/4 Jack so I can record through my audio interface?
So the kicks have sound? You don't need to buy separate parts? Sorry I'm just trying to get into drumming. I'm good at digital drums, I'm trying to get an electric one because i live in an apartment and you guys know how that can be.
The kicks have sound? Not entirely sure of the question. But the kick pedals connect to the module and allow you to play bass drum and hi-hat with your feet. You don't need to buy anything extra.
@@NickCesarzDrums ah, thanks
Could you use this as a media controller with GGD?
Yes, it has USB functionality, but you'll probably have to program the mappings yourself.
How about the 2 zone pad? Or rimshot/slide sitck? Is it works?
It doesn’t really have rimshots sadly, I own one of these they are great for beginners
Is there a speaker built in if you don’t want to use headphones or do you need to purchase an amp separately? Thanks for your review.
You will have to buy an amp separately
Can the high hat pedal be converted to a 2nd bass drum pedal?
I don’t think so
I think what people do is use a real double kick pedal on an electronic drum but I’m not sure. Getting my kit in a couple days lol
@@logos8626 The kit I have is the DED 90. It doesn't have an actual bass drum or tower, just the pedal itself lol. However, 66Samus tells me it could possibly be done by connecting a pc using the app? I've yet to try it and may just connect a tower and use a double pedal. The kit itself sounds decent and is perfect for practicing in my room...

Is it suitable for 18 year beginner
I'd say age doesn't matter too much. You can use this at any age
I dare you to play Slayer-Raining blood
I can play up to the tempo change haha XD then it's over
Thanks, parent here
Box in a box TYPICAL HAAAHA
The fact that you can’t play in time completely negates the entire purpose of having a drum kit… I’d say wait and save $300 more and get an Alesis.
i ABSOLUTELY DISAGREE THIS DRUM IS FOR A 49 YEAR OLD MAN AND HE
It's only 60 usd
Where?
not under 300 anymore
yep i played it at my bros house it picks up every ghost note and fast fill fuckin insane sleeper kit! and the no choke cymbal is a lie. word is getting out. up goes the price
215 for me
8 months ago yeah, but its now $199 on amazon
@@t77snapshotdemn it's 280 for me
@@keetlemeetle311can you choke the cymbals?
No crash cymbal, worthless
It has a crash. I have this kit
He was saying you cannot crash the ride symbol. If you watched the video, you can clearly see/ hear the crash symbol.
I’m 50 and bought it z. Haven’t played in years.
