I LOVE witnessing Bill laugh like that. Not everyone can get him there. Conan. Andy here. Fred Armisen. But when Bill finally snaps and laughs uncontrollably it’s a sight. He looks like an entirely different man lol. And his unbridled joy is infectious.
I wish he had said it more seriously, even to the point of trying to be menacing. Instead he said it like he knew he was joking, which kind of undermines the whole bit of anti-roasting
The moment later on where Bill is laughing hysterically and Andy breaks for just a split second and says "Thanks Bill" is my favourite of this absolute masterpiece. "My old homie" ❤
Everyone with a well-known face basically has a "gimmick".. Seth Rogan can't help but laugh like he needs an inhaler after every "uhhurhurhurhur". Or like he's being choked out by a funny bully. Breaking the wall on a roast, by being "mediocrely funny".. is kinda funny imo. 😅 At least we can all agree, Bill Hader is awesome, and has Gilbert Godfried levels of contagious laughter. 🙌 I laugh every time something cracks him up. 😂
Not just Bill...Andy Samberg's 'nice roast' was one of the most original, and yes hilarious, roasts on any of these. And no one could have pulled it off but Andy.
This Andy Samberg roast of everyone was the best thing about the Comedy Central Roast Of James Franco. He went in. It's a pity you have to pay to watch it. Nice job, Comedy Central.
Samberg is the only one who could ever pull this off. One of the best roasts ever and anyone else who tries this angle will be humiliated in their failure.
@@MrJeffrey938 Given that he has shown to be vicious elsewhere and still chose to do his old-timey shtick but directed at others during a roast, I'm certain.
I loved this when it aired. I thought it was super clever to intentionally not be funny or that mean *as the joke*, AND that it was obvious that he was playing up the bad roast thing so it was actually funny. It *was* for the James Franco roast though, and well...not the only Comedy Central roast to age like milk on a 120° day.
@dylanwesley3964 yeah, if it was in the last 5 years, it would be more of an intervention, with a smaller group of people. Rather than a roast. I could see how it would be confusing, if one hadn't seen the original.
Bill Hader looks like a kid watching a performance at his birthday. He’s like “more more, do another one” 😂
Sarah absolutely cackling at the end of the clip as well.

@@zack4719yeah, but unlike you fuddy duddies Norm probably enjoyed it because he actually has a sense of humor.

Andy Samberg channeling his inner Jake Peralta.

An homage to Norm roasting Saget. Beautiful.
It was. Him and Norm liked each other pretty well. Love to see it.
Like a cauliflower!
Very different approaches, though. Norm roasted the roast. Andy pretended to roast himself.
This was way before Norm died. I don't think this had anything to do with Norm. It's just how Sandberg approached the roast
He literally made the same joke about Natasha Leggero that Norm made about Oprah on Letterman.
Norm Macdonald and Andy Samberg are the only ones who pulled off the anti roast and they were both masterpieces
Totally reminded me of Norm's Bob Saget roast!
Norm did it right. This wasn't funny
