(Let them eat) MAGICAL TOASTY Bread!

- In this video I demonstrate how to make a light airy bread that turns into delightfully crispy toast to eat with butter, jam, avocado, etc. This is NOT a white sandwich bread, though I think it would taste good that way as well. It’s just much better toasted!
Here is a direct link to the pdf of the recipe:

Love watching you bake. What cookbook do you use. I am looking for cookbook with calculations already done.
Thanks for all your help.
I stopped using cookbooks and have been developing my own recipes now for a couple of years. My whole channel full of recipes are all in grams and free! Have you watched my video on converting to grams?
ua-cam.com/video/AXFqbD1pxPk/v-deo.html
The good news is that I have about 80 recipes here for you all in grams!
Where can i buy the clear 'plastic' bowl you use on your scale. Thanks for EVERYTHING!
Hi David. I’m glad you enjoy the videos! That bowl actually came with the scale and sits on it. I don’t often measure into it though. Here’s my scale. It’s so inexpensive and so dependable!

Thank you!
Thanks Ellen, I’m looking forward to making this! Hugs to your sweet dad, I love his appearances in your videos!
It’s really yummy!
Did your sponge recipe for wheat bread - turned out fantastic!!! What a difference - used the above bread machine - love it
I didn’t make a sponge. Glad you like the recipe!
Aren’t the Zojirushis the best!

Thank you!!!
My guilty pleasure is All of the Below Decks Series. (and a couple of the Housewives franchises. Yes, I admit it) I love your recipes. Thank you!
Ha!!!!
I loved seeing your lovely hair down. You look fabulous. Beautiful loaf! Looks delicious! Sounds pleasantly crunchy. Hi Mr. Walker. 😊
Thank you!❤️❤️❤️
easy peasy, thanks for the new video. looks so yummy. will need to give this a try. Thank you Ellen 🍞
Thanks Hope!
if you align the length of the parchment paper with the length of the loaf pan, it will fit the pan better.
The length? It’ll still be longer.
I'll try this bread next. My husband loves snacking on buttered toast! Thanks for another fun, informative video!! Adorable dad!
Thank youSari!
Yay, a new recipe to try- thank you for the video! Can't an't help but say that your hair looks super cute.
That’s so sweet! Thank you!!!
Well am in the middle of my first go at this bread, tested to see if it was ti dry or wet thought it was OK but had to use floured hands to get it out of the pan lol trouble is the bread machine is very old and doesn't stop when opening the lid to test, now on the proving stage so fingers crossed x
My dough wasn’t sticky. You probably needed more flour. Let me know how it turns out.
@@BreadMachineVideosWithEllenH I made another one as I realised a few mistakes I had made, one using the milk from the fridge and not using bicarb soda also used newer yeast this second time, also more acurate with the ingredients. It waws much better but didn't rise so much as yours. Hubby says I can use the first one for bread pudding lol @Bread Machine & Baking Videos with Ellen Hoffman I made another one as I reased a few mistakes I had made, one using the milk from the fridge and not using bicarb soda also used newer yeast thie second time, also more acurate with the ingredients. Ok!
Hiiii Ellen's dad!!! This recipe looks so good and I love breakfast for dinner. Gonna have to try this!
I hope you like it!
What a handsome dad
His personality is adorable
Thanks! He’s the best!
Hey, Ellen, so nice to see your smiling face☺️. I’ve been making KA’s version of English Muffin bread for years; honestly I’ve become a one-trick-pony and haven’t branched out much. But me and my Fella just love it so there’s that. Anyway, the recipe calls for a teaspoon of white vinegar, but the rest is the same. I don’t know what that does chemically but I can’t say it adds any kind of taste. Perhaps the size of the holes/texture. So I’ll add your version to my bag of tricks and even bake it in the oven. Now that S Az is getting cooler, I don’t mind turning it on as much.
Let me know how you like it.
I just put my ingredients in for the dough course. I wondered about the baking SODA so I looked at your written recipe both times you put it on comments and description. Perhaps it takes the place of the vinegar in mine which calls for baking POWDER. Golly, I hope my loaf pan is big enough…perhaps I should split the dough in two🧐
How big is your loaf pan? Any 9x5 or 10x4 will do.
Can I bake the same dough in a bread machine?
Yes! Use basic or white, medium crust. I usually announce that in the video. Hmmmm!
Hi Ellen! Sorry to be such a bother, but I have another question...... The following is a recipe that I've done the 'hands-on' way for a few years. It's for artisan bread and we really love it. After taking a look, do you suppose it would work in the 'dough cycle' and then baking in the oven in a Dutch Oven, the way I do it now?
CHEESE BREAD
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp instant yeast
16 oz cool water
1 cup cheddar cheese
Mix all dry.
-------------------------------------------
Cover and proof on the counter 12 hrs.
Then, degas and make into a 'rough' ball.
Put light on in the oven and proof in oven for 1 1/2 hrs
Preheat oven to 450
Heat dutch oven for 20 minutes
Place dough in dutch oven and bake for 35 minutes.
Please give me some advice if you have the time. Thanks for whatever help you can give me and I sincerely hope you and yours have a super Turkey Day!!!
David

Hi David. You’re not a bother!! I love my bread family and always enjoy be helping!
The only thing I can say is to try it. I don’t know why it wouldn’t work but it may have a slightly different texture.
@@BreadMachineVideosWithEllenH Thanks again, Ellen. Enjoy the holiday tomorrow.
David
Thank you! I just got my stuffing in the oven!!! It’s been no holidays since 2019 so this is exciting and overwhelming.
What kind of bread machine do you use
Hello Debra. I have three Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus bread machines. Pricey up front but will last a lifetime! Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus Breadmaker, 2 lb. loaf of bread, Stainless Steel/Black a.co/d/cPXVAyl
Love this, going to give it a go, can you tell what size bread tin it is please xx
10x5”
Recipe?
The recipe is in the description below as in all my videos. If you can’t find it, watch this video.
ua-cam.com/video/LBn-R07_N40/v-deo.html
Found it! TY-baking it now.👌
Excellent! Let me know how you like it!
Heavy cream?
I’d dilute it with half milk.
I don’t know if you have answered this but could you have left the bread alone and baked in bread maker?
Yes!
I haven’t tried it but it should be great!
All I have on my baking shelf is self-rising cornmeal. Can I use it to sprinkle on top of my loaf?
Hmmm. I have never heard of self rising cornmeal! Since you’re not mixing it in, maybe it wouldn’t hurt.
Could you give us the written recipe.
It’s all written out in the description below the video. I explained how to find it in the video!!!❤️
@@BreadMachineVideosWithEllenH It isn't in my description box. Just more and less.

By Ellen Hoffman
210 grams milk or Half and Half
110 grams water
500 grams King Arthur bread flour
15 grams sugar
6 grams salt
4 grams baking soda
8 grams SAF instant yeast
Coat pan with cornmeal.
Before baking, egg wash and sprinkle on cornmeal and kosher salt.
@@BreadMachineVideosWithEllenH Thank you for the ingredients. I think I have watched every one of your videos on you tube.
Is this only good for toast or is it ok for sandwiches or just eating buttered??
It’s ok just buttered but is at its best when toasted with butter or peanut butter!
I’d prefer rye or challah for sandwiches over this personally.
Thank you!!!
You’re welcome!
