Come on man the first genesis didn't look dumb, persay that's a little harsh. it's a beautiful elegant simple design. However it and the Eqquis just lack personality, that they didn't find untill after the genesis rebrand. (Photoshop an older lexus Mercedes or Acura or buick grill in place of the Hyundai original...anyway the superman grill is debated, buy it gives genesis/Hyundai premium the brand identity and personality it needed (the new 2 bar lights don't hurt either). Simple elegant designs, but the soul of old school GTA cars, if the TAU 4.6 5.0 wer as bulletproof as th 1UZ or if there is enough aftermarket support to keep them from hitting the scrap heap. The well maintained ones are still running. 🤷🏿♂️
I just purchased a 2016 Equus Signature in Black for $12k. It was a local car in diplomat service and well maintained it’s entire life. I’m one happy camper. 😂
I own 2016 Equis Ultra. Absolutely love it. Amazing in every way. Sound system is stunning! 25 mpg at 75 mph on regular gas. Unbeatable value at current used car prices. Much more reliable than the money pit Mercedes, Audis, BMWs and Jaguars.
Awesome. I’m considering a 2014 Ultra, and these kinds of comments sway me towards getting one. My things I don’t like include the gas mileage, but I’ve seen two comments that say mid-high 20 mpg. Also, I’ve read that you can use regular gas, with a slight performance decrease, and given how much performance the car has, I don’t mind that. So yeah, I just might get the Equus I’m eyeing that’s about $15k. Unbeatable to almost any car you can get for the money.
I always recommend both of these luxury vehicles. I personally owned a Equus when they first came out and it was one of my favorite vehicles I ever owned. I had it for 7 years with no issues. I started buying Lexus vehicles after it but I will consider Genesis again.
I have a 2013 Equus Signature. The owner's manual says that I have 420hp with regular gas. Which I use exclusively. I need the extra 9 hp like a hole in the head. Also Sport mode, which you didn't mention changes the throttle and gearing algorithms and makes the car a monster. The air suspension, which is standard adjusts the shocks in real time while cornering. So it handles in the corners very well. Also I can raise the car 3 inches if going through deep water. The 17 speaker stereo, made by LEXICON is the same one that was used in the 2017 Rolls Royce drop head coupe. I've done professional sound work, If you set it up right, it definitely holds it own against anything. And as far as status is concerned many people admire the car and ask about it. It has heated and cooled seats. There is one glaring difference between my Equus and a Mercedes. The Mercedes is expensive to maintain and now not reliable. At least according to my Mercedes mechanic.
About 2 years ago a Teenager rear ended my 2012 Equus and totaled it...And with the insurance money I bought a another 2012 Equus... My plan was to get a 2014 ultimate... But the more I looked at the 14 and up I made my decision because 11,12 and 13 to me look that much better... The extra Chrome in the front and back of the car and the 19" Chrome rims that they purposely made to look just like the ones from the Bentley and are the best set of rims on a car to this day... Do yourself a favor and look how much the 2012 and 13 rims cost compared to the 14 in up rims... OK I'm done talking about my Equus that I love so much... One more thing...when using regular gas I really think we lose about 30 horsepower instead of 9 horsepower... I can definitely tell the difference when I got my girl filled up with the good stuff.
@@armandsmith1027 The reason I got a used 2013 Equus was also because of the chrome rims. I swear. i purchased it a year and a half ago. For kicks, I got the OEM hood ornament on Ebay. I’ve had two people ask me with expletives: “Is that a Bentley!?!” Yours and mine don’t have the Hyundai badges. Actually it has a different status than a Merc. Hyundai did not advertise this car. It is rare. It commands a lot of attention. Just goes to show you. I love mine. Very reliable.
@@markfreedman2470 Yes she is a wonderful rare car... I honestly believe that the 2012 and 2013 Equus will be a collector's car sometime in the future.
I have a 2014 Equus in the Ultimate trim. I bought it with 180,000 km (110,000 miles to you Americans & Britons) in November 2020; it now has almost 240,000 km (150,000 miles), and I love it as much as I did when I first got it (perhaps more!) Even though, as it's a daily driver, it has lots of stone chips on the front bumper and scratches here and there, I find its appearance striking- stately, like a full size luxury sedan should be. On the inside, it's super comfortable and spacious enough for me, my wife, son, and dog (a Lab), with lots of trunk space too. There've been a few maintenance issues, but nothing too serious, at least yet (at this mileage, no warranty, of course). And by the way, the previous owner and I have only ever used regular fuel, and particularly in Sport mode, it still pulls impressively on highway on-ramps. It sold new in Canada for $72,000- I got it for just under $20,000, and that's a lot of car for the money :)
As an EQUUS owner, I am very happy. As a 2016 model year, there have been no problems and no electrical issues. The EQUUS lineage dates back to 1999 and were sold in other continents, but not in America. I don't see competition between Lexus and Hyundai as both name plates are respected in Asia, which is the largest car market. Europe and the U.S. are lovingly irrelevant in terms of determining the direction of which luxury maker will reign supreme. To me, what's more relevant, in terms of competition, are the Asian luxury makers versus European luxury models. It's a new world order. Deal with it, Ravi Peiris M.D.
Yea my friend I saw your previous post on the Patreon vid forgot to reply I apologize but yes it’s so interesting the sorts of cars other countries love. Like Buick in China is massively prestigious I really think that’s cool. Equus is unbelievable value congrats again sir
I think you're under-estimating the size of the North American market for Asian car manufacturers. The NA market is so big that Asian car manufacturers don't just export units to NA, but they each have a corporate divisions stationed and specializing in the US dedicated to the importance of this market in terms of sales and direction.
I have a 14 Equss and had it since 2015 got it off lease and love it. I have not had one since issue with the car, just doing normal maintence and at 101k miles on it now. I studied the car before it came out and figured they would enter the market like lexus did. Build a solid luxury car to enter the market and make it easy for tech to repair. To this day people still ask what it is.
I currently have the highest mileage equus in the states. 2014 ultimate with 246k miles. Still looks and drives brand new. Original engine, transmission and air suspension. I've done minor repairs. Does burn about 1.5 qts of oil every 3k miles which is common on mosy high mileage engines especially direct injected engines but nothing can compete with it for the price. Had it's first oil leak at 237k miles driver valve cover gasket. I love that nobody knows what this car is. I wish the transmission felt as aggressive as my SRT8 was but love this car.
I got my 13 Equus Signature a little over a year ago like mint 60x milage. Florida car too.. once I found out an older couple traded it in, I snagged it, $19,900..
The Hyundai Equus had a very short 5/6 year run in America, but it was actually in production for 17 years over seas. So it had a very long run before they discontinued it. But people have to remember just because an automaker discontinues a vehicle due to low sales doesn't mean it was a bad car mechanically or otherwise. All that means is either buyers started to lose interest, it didn't take off in sales as they hoped it would, or the automaker was ready to move on to something new. And that applies to all automakers. But people have to stop buying into just because they go online and hear "someone" bad mouth a car that means it's a bad car to buy. There are automakers like BMW and Land Rover who continue to make brand new cars with a whole list of "brand new" mechanical problems just as their previous generations had. But millions of people continue to go out and buy those cars (new or used) without question knowing the negative history of the automaker. Point is give the Eqqus a break. Cause it's nice separate yourself from the group and drive a big luxury car that not everyone else has out on the road, like an old beat up Lexus LS, an s-class or a broken down on the side of the road 7 series.
I own both ('11 460 & '12 Equus) and definitely prefer the Equus. Both are old though. Long past time for an upgrade! P.S. Never had to do more than an oil change on either!
@@Apoplectic_Spock Hey Spock did you end up selling the '11 460? Don't see a lot of them that aren't the base model for sale on the west coast. Wondering how the market was when you sold
@@MatthewBHoth LMBO funny you ask bro! My father-in-law flipped it thrice on the interstate about 5 months ago and it was totalled. He walked away with nothing but a sprained wrist. That car took damn good care of the fam while it lasted. Now I'm about to put the Equus on the market and doubt I'll get much out of it. But, I'm in CO now, so it's the truck life for me!
I have a 2014 Equus Signature with 240,500 miles on it. Has is a great car still looks and runs like new. Have had alternator , serpentine belt and rear air suspension bags, which PepBoys installed for me. Only other cost is regular maintenance.
Love the Equus. Always thought it was a budget LS. I like in a way, cars that fly under the radar. I don’t like always having the same thing as the next person, like you see a million NX’s and RX’s. If I were to ever be able to afford an S-class, I’d have to change the wheels or something to make it unique. I love the current G90, a lot due to it not being seen so much compared to a Bimmer or Merc. Not sure I love, love the redesign G90 just yet, but will wait and see. I’d definitely get an Equus or G90, if I could afford the maintenance. As much as I once used to love Lexus, and they are fine products, don’t get me wrong. I just love having something that’s cheaper for one, and that people will wonder what it is, since not many are on the road.
I am a Lexus Girl. Prior owner of a GS300 and SC400. Currently own 2001 LS430 (220K miles) and 2016 LS460 (31K miles). Looking to replace my LS430 and really want a SC430, but they stopped making them @ 2012, and the ones I found are very pricey. Looking at purchasing the Equus as my replacement daily driver. Looks good and drives smooth!!! 🤗
Great videos as usual… you’ve come a long way and the delivery is better each video! I like the G90 from a stylistic, equipment and value point of view as well BUT it’s not made as well as the Lexus LS at any level. Toyota/Lexus is epic and that’s why we own 2 Lexus Lx and GX and 2 Toyota Tundra and 4Runner products
@Thomas Harris What source says that the G90 is not made as well? I think Genesis won the JD Power 2020 based on the quality of 2018 and 2019 used models You might want to do some research
I LOVE MY EQUUS! I love that not everyone has one. I see Lexus , BMW, Mercedes everywhere everyday. I still to this day get asked "What brand is that?" "Who makes this?" "That a really nice car!" I was in Costco gas line across from me was a G90 and we both loved our cars. The guy said the same thing he gets complements on his car all the time. It's not about how much your car cost, it's about quality for what you paid for it. I was stationed in Germany nearly 5 years and I've been in so many German cars that it removed any appeal for them when I came back to the states. In Germany a Mercedes, BMW and Audi are literally TAXIS Cabs! And according to German's (their words not mine) the cars made outside of Germany are not the same as the ones they make for themselves. Last the low end Mercedes cars for the price people pay for them is crazy! You paid how much for that 4 cylinder?
Same here, with my Equus. It mostly flies under the radar, but occasionally I'll catch someone checking it out as I drive by or I'll get asked about it at a gas station. At the same time, it's low-key luxury. I don't want something ostentatious.
For new cars, I'd love a Genesis or a Lincoln. Both have great design language in their builds. But I'd probably only go with them if I decide to lease a car. Getting a used Genesis or Lincoln... well, my parents have a Hyundai Sonata... and with 130k miles, they're having some issues. Minor issues, but issues that Toyota/Lexus don't have. For now, I'll stick with my '08 LS460 with 122k miles.
@Ahihood Gavriel I have owned my 2011 Equus for 7 years. I bought it three years old. I had to replace a wheel bearing last year. Uses regular ( 87 octane) fuel and things like filters( cabin and air) and easily serviced yourself Its like they were trying to make the ownership easy and reasonably priced
It's all about value bro. Lexus did it when they came out with their products back then. Equus is doing that very same thing and they've gotten better at it. Great video as usual!😎
I own a 2008 LS460. I have to admit, it’s the absolute best Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham I have ever owned. Smooth, quiet and reliable. The car actually gets compliments from random people. The understated looks of this sedan have aged very well and with the addition of the Grom Audio V-Line operating through factory ML sound system, its infotainment is actually functionally better than what Lexus offers in their newest cars.
That 10K delta is justified for the LS460. Love what Hyundai has done and is doing. But, LS is too much boss for Equus. You’ve arrived…nobody questions when you pull up. 😎
Yea if prestige is important I would spend the $10k nobody cares about the Hyundai that’s a car you buy if you absolutely don’t care about what other people think
I’m at a crossroads and dilemma right now. Should I sell my 2007 LS460L that I gotta spend $4k Cash to fix mention already spending $2.4k just for a starter and air suspension or sell this thing for a Honda Accord or Camry around 2015 models?
I really like this generation of the 460, I’d spring for the f sport and Lexus more proven track record +warranty, the equus is a good bargain though, s/n did you see Jerry Jones plow his ls 460 in to a Hyundai Sonata lol it’s a safe car 🤷🏾♂️😂
Hey man so Im having a hard time deciding between getting a 2014 ls 460 fsport and a 2015 rc 350 fsport. I know two completely different cars/circumstances but what would you suggest from your experience with the two would be best as a daily driver?
I have an LS460 not post face lift and it’s pretty nice. Both are very different cars. Your going to enjoy the RC more if you love taking it for a spin, but watch Top gears review on it first.
ES is everything you just described. G80 is all of that as well not as quiet as the ES but it does handle better than the ES. Just depends on what you value but as a street car, a brand new ES 300h is pretty unbeatable with 40 mpg city and highway. I would do a one pay lease on a new ES 300h
I haven't driven the Hyundai, but the 460, although it was a little staid, and its true that Lexus didn't step out too far in the design etc., was simply so well screwed or glued together, that you just knew you were driving something really great. If Hyundai emulated that design and build, that imitation is the best compliment you can give the Lexus. I know they are not exciting or carry the panache of the Mercedes etc. With that said they do in my mind just have a totality that I love. I've kept my LS 500 longer than I usually keep a car because I just still love the interior, and the car overall. I just feel in a Lexus that if I can get fuel I can drive around the world. The Lexus store and service is just unbelievable every time. I had an issue in Ft. Myers and the GM of the store called me on a Sunday to resolve. That is part of what I am buying. Hats off to Hyundai, but with Lexus the overall equation is hard to surpass.
Well said my friend yea people just don’t understand how amazing Lexus build quality really is, and of course the LS 500 annihilated the previous 460 in interior design and even fit and finish further. But yea it’s impressive how Genesis has matched them but then again a multi billion dollar company has the resources to make whatever they want I suppose
That generation of the LS acutely stated in 2007. The 2013-2017 models were a heavy refresh inside & out of the 2010-12 LS which already got a minor refresh over the 2007-2009 LS in the 2010 model year
I never gave the G90 a thought that I was so heavily on the Lexus LS 460 models only thing I want to know is is the G90 just as dependable as the LS 460 overtime? Love the in-depth video!
I feel like Hyundai/Genesis brand is starting to make some extremally attractive vehicles for the price point and quality vs Toyota/Lexus products. I think Toyota and Lexus maybe have been too conservative in their approach lately especially when it comes to new technologies compared to the Hyundai/Kia brand. Genesis, especially the G90 simply blows away any current Lexus model. Genesis finally has a signature look with wonderful interiors for their price point. They are truly surpassing Lexus as being the more prestigious and exciting to own. I think the days of when a Lexus vehicles were truly special has sort of past on by, and now Genesis has taken over that crown I've owned my 07 LS460 L for a little over a year now, and so far it's been very reliable, and it still runs so smooth at 143,000 miles. Everything still works and it feels so solid to drive. I guess I will say that time will tell if the Genesis brand can be as reliable as a Lexus. If they can manage to build luxury vehicles to last hundreds of thousands of miles and they still run like new, then they will be on to something truly special.
Yea I mean both companies are great I find Lexus to be a very high quality car without taking too many risks. They’re just really satisfying out on the street. Interesting thing about the 07-12 LS models is how quiet the engine is. It’s 3 decibels quieter than the Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe. But I agree when it comes to next level motoring the G90 is pretty phenomenal and the brand is doing some amazing things right now
@@MeynMotorGroup I feel you Kevin, Lexus is still great and has been a mainstay for years, you can never go wrong with the brand. I didn't know the engine was quieter than a Rolls Phantom! That's pretty amazing. BTW the Equus is nice, but it looks too much like a S-Class rip off to me. The LS has a higher quality looking interior as well, more quality wood trim and accents. I remember years ago (pre-Covid days) I would attend auto shows locally that you could check out and sit in all the latest vehicles. The Equus was one of them, including the S-Class, 7-Series, Lex LS460, Audi A8, and I remember between them all and after sitting inside them all, the Audi A8 and Lexus LS of this generation had the nicest feeling quality interior, even over the S-Class in certain areas. The Audi having the highest quality feeling and looking interior by far, with the LS a close second place while the 7 Series and S-Class feeling way overpriced for the materials that you got. What separated them however, was in their technology, performance and features this is where the S-Class was king. The Equus was ok, but not as nice as the LS. After owning my LS460, I don't think I can ever go back to a basic sedan ever again. Or any other vehicle that doesn't have a V8 and is RWD and rides as smooth as my car. You get so pampered and used to all the creature comforts of an LS or any flagship vehicle for that matter that it makes everything else on the road less worthy to drive. I don't think I can ever sell my LS because of how loaded it is, and it's overall wonderful condition for it's age. Most other vehicles that are almost 15 years old look like trash and are beat to hell, but Lexus vehicles hold up so nicely for years and never truly feel completely stale. I needed an LS to own because of how horrible the infrastructure and road conditions are here in San Diego. Our streets are absolutely horrendous to drive on with potholes size of missile strikes, and are seriously, rough, uneven lopsided pavement that it's actually dangerous to drive on. So having an LS really helps to own because it takes bumps in strides, but it's not perfect and it can't take every pothole like a champ because of bad they are here. Sometimes I worry about breaking the control arms on my car that's how bad many of our streets are. Now I know why so many people own trucks and SUV's out in SD, to be able to handle the war torn streets of San Diego.
Yes Chris, I think the Genesis is a classy well put together car, as you stated, I just want to see if they will be as durable as Lexus. If they do that I will co-sign. I’ve owned some top of the line luxury vehicles and none have stood up to my Lexus’ as far as miles and durability. Even Benz and Bmw have been sub par in newer years. The dealerships at Lexus even shows more care for their products and owners than most….
Genesis has already "arrived" as it were. The EQUUS luxury lineage dates back to 1999 but those luxury vehicles weren't sold in the States or Canada, at least not until 2009 with the Genesis and 2011 with the EQUUS. With regards to Quality, Genesis definitely holds its own against the British and German marques in terms of resale value and long term reliability. While most viewers of this channel may never have held an international plane ticket 🎫🎟️ and travelled abroad to Europe or Asia, it's the Asian market (because of shifting economic and political dynamics) now that will determine which luxury marque(s) will reign supreme. Regarding road quality in San Diego, try driving through roads in the East Coast with the snow and salt and see how those conditions decimate roads. One last point: The EQUUS is not a rip off of the S class Mercedes. The styling of my EQUUS was guided by engineering specs such as drag and aerodynamics, similar to how the French Concorde and Soviet Tu144 looked similar in design. Ravi Peiris M.D.
@@MeynMotorGroup I would like to get your honest opinion about the Equus! I'm a part of a Equus facebook group and owners always say the suspension will go out sooner or later. In that case would you recommend getting new air suspension or replace with rmt struts to not have that problem again? Curious
Yea I would definitely get the Strutmaster conversion kit. Air suspension is fine while you’re under warranty but air ride is almost never worth it just a headache. A properly tuned traditional strut suspension is best imo. I used it on the project LS which I sold and the strutmaster kit literally mimicked the OEM Lexus ride. Best solution for around a grand and that’s what my master tech recommends as well
I recently bought a ls430 and I love it. Even went 430 miles on 1 fill up. Unfortunately I was rear ended on the highway tho so my mint ls looks ugly as shit until it's fixed. But I plan to keep it for a while, and wouldn't mind upgrading to one of these. Only thing I don't like about the equas is the grill. I also like the kia k900 and cadenza
I think you should have had a comparison of the Equus,Lexus, Jaguar,Audi, BMW,and Mercedes of the same years... For the ultimate bank for your buck comparison👍🏾
Unfortunately I’m one of the Lexus fanboys but I have a 460 with 300k on it and rides like new. I like the information on the equs. Seems like a nice car but aesthetically it may be the most boring looking car I have ever seen. The grill on the 2017 460 is not my favorite but 2018 and up they kill!
LS is amazing nothing really to complain about some don’t like the infotainment but I personally love it. LS500 is one of the best looking sedans made I agree
No Ls460 with 400k miles rides like new lol. Definitely you gonna be put a lot of money in it to maintain it especially 07-10 models were problematic. I own 09 ls460 and they do have problems . The G90 is a better car than the 13-17 ls460
@OABUSSMINDGH well not everybody drives their LS like a maniac, its very easy to get these cars to 400k miles with nothing but regular maintenance and maybe a motor mount.
I own the LS 460 and it has been a good car. It's delivered Lexus/Toyota reliability and I may keep the car to 200 or 300k. The Hyundai seems to really have upped its game, but curious to see if they will rival Toyota in longevity.
I have the equus it’s way better than the ls and I’ve had time with both! And I like that I don’t have something everyone knows about, I get so many compliments on my car! And I wanted this car for years lol! And I swing my shit and do donuts and figure 8’s lol it’s fun!
yay, another LS video... lol dang the Lexus looks 100x better but is really falling short here on performance which I'm not gonna lie is disappointing. My 08 LS460 only has 6 HP less so at that point its like what's the point? I don't really NEED that much fancy technology in the interior and quite frankly I've seen a mod that is a wild upgrade to the infotainment system where you can watch youtube and do like everything for just $500. Granted you won't have tv's in the back, but it's whatever. Could just buy an ipad attachment for my 3 year old and he wouldn't even care lol it is a gorgeous car inside and out though. Totally agree with you on the status thing & I think that Hyundai is ugly tbh and would never buy one but I will admit they are coming in hot with the genesis and that g90 you mentioned. I saw a genesis coupe at the gas station recently and it was a v6 twin turbo with less horsepower than my car but it looked really beautiful, like I was impressed. I gotta say though I do disagree with you when you say no one buys these cars to go fast. I mostly work from home and often don't have to drive much so idrc about gas (though I despise our current administration), I did buy this car knowing it had power and with every intention of using it. See I believe I can have my cake and eat it too, so it's not uncommon you will smell burnt rubber after I park my vehicle cause I often drive it like it's a sports car almost lol don't care, it has learned my style and in slapshift it is very very satisfying getting down on it. Very responsive. & at the same time I can put my 3 year old in his car seat in the back & drive normal.. ALSO this car WILL get upwards of 30MPG on the highway. Even upwards of 27MPG going 80 on interstate, so to me it is the best of both worlds
I REALLY hope car manufactures makes a big sedan EV. I know Cadillac as a concept of one that looks BEAUTIFUL. I don't want/need a SUV or one of those silly looking micro SUVs. Love me a big lane hogging land yacht.
In 2010, I landed at the Inchon International Airport in Seoul and the Equus was one of the first cars I noticed. One of my neighbors had one and he was always dusting it off daily. Many of the businesses used that instead of the S Class for executive limos. .... saying all that to say, the Koreans were really proud of that car
Yup they are super proud, they were super pleased with the first generation Genesis model, where their goal was to build a luxury car with the quality of a 7 series, size of a 5 series, and price of a 3 series. That first Genesis was so epic and great to drive and I loved the 4.6 V8. These cars are so underrated in the States but they are world class vehicles and they have every right to be proud
I tend to root for the underdog and I’ve always been a fan of Hyundai dabbling their toes into the luxury car market. Considering my financial situation, I would choose the Equus. But hey, everyone has a different view. Having a larger budget opens more doors
Too bad inside for the 2007 2009 2008 Models melts inside Bet you didn’t know this ask a mechanic like I saw on you tube plus otter suspension problem as well as the arm so stay away from the models 2007 to 2010
I am getting rid of my 201k mile 09 CTSV for one of these. The LS460, Genesis and Equus are on my list. The Equus is an amazing car and I maybe joining the Koreans. My fast days are over 😂😂
@jay willis You need to check another dealer as that is twice what I have heard it costs The parts to fix it are $1800 for all 4 You can take it to an independent mechanic and it cost you less than 3 grand OR..you can switch to a passive suspension set up( there is a video here on you tube) and the cost will be even less
I have 2014 Equus , bought air bags for rear of car from manufacture in Florida, paid $300 for the pair and had Pep Boys install them for $100 about 2 years ago still going strong.
Mismatch? On the contrary. The Equus was the precursor to G90, flagship of Genesis, which is kicking Lexus’, Acura’s and Infiniti’s asses right now. Sure, it copied the LS, then passed it.
The Equus failed in North America (which worked out well for me, since it depreciated a ton and I got mine for just $20K (Canadian). But they sold a billion of them in Korea and, I believe, China.
When you say the genesis g90 outperforms them both, what is that all in terms of? Everything or just certain things like tech? I don’t care so much about tech as much as I do how comfortable the seats and ride quality is myself. Do you think the genesis and equus will hold up as nicely as the Lexus or similarly?
Comparisons need to stop. There is a reason toyota( yes lexus is a luxury toyota) is number 1. I dont care about the cosmetics I care about reliability and Lexus( toyota) is the best option. Drove cars from all manufactures and nothing beat the toyota. We have an 09 ls460 awd and love it. I can add what I want as far as cosmetics, but, reliaibilty I get in and am confident in this car and know it will take me anywhere with little to know issues

Thank you for sharing my friend that’s awesome
Eu comprei uma simples Honda Biz 110i e fiquei 7 anos e não tive nenhum problema!
Does it Bluetooth music and have you had issues I’m thinking of buying a 2013 signature silver wish it was blck
Ah you got the 5 liter then
I have a 2014 Equus in the Ultimate trim.
Deal with it,
Ravi Peiris M.D.
Yea my friend I saw your previous post on the Patreon vid forgot to reply I apologize but yes it’s so interesting the sorts of cars other countries love. Like Buick in China is massively prestigious I really think that’s cool. Equus is unbelievable value congrats again sir
A fellow equestrian! (get it? ;) ) I love mine too.
The equs is nice but that LS460 is king of the road. And they last forever! Great in depth video👍🙌
I would still get a warranty due to the complexity and electronics of both since that’s not something a person can work on quite easily 👍
@exhaust sports Auto. You are absolutely right!! 👍

@Thomas Harris
What source says that the G90 is not made as well?
I think Genesis won the JD Power 2020 based on the quality of 2018 and 2019 used models
You might want to do some research
Can’t go wrong with the LS it’s amazing nothing to complain about
Hyundai & Genesis good for 10 years. issue with engine and transmision. good maybe till 120 miles , but Lexus is for life 200-350 miles no issues .
The V8 genesis has is just as reliable. Genesis beat out Toyota in 2021/2022 as the most dependable car brand

The Equus is great!
Definitely!

I would def go LS to daily. RC is fun tho but better to have 4 doors as a daily

You’ve driven the g80 and the es 350 (2019+). Which one has the edge in smoothness, refinement, and quietness?
ES is everything you just described. G80 is all of that as well not as quiet as the ES but it does handle better than the ES. Just depends on what you value but as a street car, a brand new ES 300h is pretty unbeatable with 40 mpg city and highway. I would do a one pay lease on a new ES 300h
@@MeynMotorGroup perfect. Just purchased a 2019 lexus es 350 ultra lux with 47k miles. Rides so much better than my hyundai sonata LOL

I think the days of when a Lexus vehicles were truly special has sort of past on by, and now Genesis has taken over that crown
I've owned my 07 LS460 L for a little over a year now, and so far it's been very reliable, and it still runs so smooth at 143,000 miles.
@@MeynMotorGroup 🤝😎

@@MeynMotorGroup I would like to get your honest opinion about the Equus! I'm a part of a Equus facebook group and owners always say the suspension will go out sooner or later. Yea I would definitely get the Strutmaster conversion kit.
Air suspension is fine while you’re under warranty but air ride is almost never worth it just a headache.
A properly tuned traditional strut suspension is best imo.

yay, another LS video... lol dang the Lexus looks 100x better but is really falling short here on performance which I'm not gonna lie is disappointing.

Os engenheiros da Hyundai são inteligentes, se inspiraram logo no Mercedes Classe S 😊
Equus is so underrated
Both nice. But still apples to oranges . Lexus rocks
460 all day u see my profile pic how im riding and what im goin for
The ls460 is everything the equus wants to be
Some people be defending these cars like it’s their own children.
I thought the LS 500 was the flagship
LS 460 2013 to 2017 the Best
@@ahihoodgavriel2844 And that's the reason why I have been trying to get this make and model for years.
I recognize laguna Niguel
Comparing a Hyundai to a Lexus? Lol
@Ben
Do you recall when people said that about Lexus compared to Mercedes?(some still do by the way)
460 looks a lot better
Lexus LS 460 have severe brake accumalator problems,
I tend to root for the underdog and I’ve always been a fan of Hyundai dabbling their toes into the luxury car market. Considering my financial situation, I would choose the Equus. But hey, everyone has a different view. Having a larger budget opens more doors
Equus depreciation, low resale.Lexus is money well spent.
They’re both used and they’ve both depreciated the same amount well nearly the same you get the idea
@RK
About the same resale...look at the difference when new
Too bad inside for the 2007 2009 2008
Models melts inside
Bet you didn’t know this ask a mechanic like I saw on you tube plus otter suspension problem
as well as the arm so stay away from the models 2007 to 2010
I am getting rid of my 201k mile 09 CTSV for one of these. The LS460, Genesis and Equus are on my list. The Equus is an amazing car and I maybe joining the Koreans. My fast days are over 😂😂
That’s incredible well done my friend
Looke for LS 460 from 2013 to 2017
the Equus will ruin you when the air ride suspension fails dealer just quoted me almost 9 grand on my 2014 signature with only 47 thousand miles.
@jay willis
You need to check another dealer as that is twice what I have heard it costs
The parts to fix it are $1800 for all 4
You can take it to an independent mechanic and it cost you less than 3 grand
OR..you can switch to a passive suspension set up( there is a video here on you tube) and the cost will be even less
@@turnne i got the fronts replaced for 600 parts and 600 labor RMT
@@mrZargon1 so $1200 all in for new front air struts?
@@turnne yes rebuilt from RMT they told me they are selling units to the dealers
I have 2014 Equus , bought air bags for rear of car from manufacture in Florida, paid $300 for the pair and had Pep Boys install them for $100 about 2 years ago still going strong.
👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Go with Lexus much better reliability in the later years!!! Initial quality is good on genius but after that it goes down hill!!!
Yo bro
Hey bro thanks for dropping in
Equus is a fake 460 look at the shape
Honestly this is a complete mis match 😂 The Equis didn’t sell and failed like this video
Thank you my friend humbled to have your support, God Bless
Mismatch? On the contrary. The Equus was the precursor to G90, flagship of Genesis, which is kicking Lexus’, Acura’s and Infiniti’s asses right now. Sure, it copied the LS, then passed it.
@Jim Hamilton
The Lexus didnt sell that well either. The Mercedes S class outsold it 3 to 1 and at a MUCH higher price than the Lexus
@@ibeeline9431 the G90 better than the LS so yeah Genesis winning rn
The Equus failed in North America (which worked out well for me, since it depreciated a ton and I got mine for just $20K (Canadian). But they sold a billion of them in Korea and, I believe, China.
When you say the genesis g90 outperforms them both, what is that all in terms of? Everything or just certain things like tech? I don’t care so much about tech as much as I do how comfortable the seats and ride quality is myself. Do you think the genesis and equus will hold up as nicely as the Lexus or similarly?
Yea I was referring to everything
@They hate him because he told the truth
I drive a 2011 Equus and have only replaced a wheel bearing in the 7 years I have owned it
Comparisons need to stop.
Comparisons don’t just stop because you have a Lexus. The world doesn’t revolve and respond to you and your 09 Lexus
@Kevin Scott. You do realize Genesis has beat Lexus in the last JD power update on ownership satisfaction after 5 years ..right?
