Just watched Rory hitting a 7 iron on a par three. From the camera view it looked like his right shoulder was slightly lower. That looked similar to a driver swing. He faded it right over the green. Loved your analysis.
I want to say thank you for explaining how to place your clubs right above your knee. I took that to the range and I have never hit my irons that flush in the 15 years I have played this game. Keep bringing this great content
Question for you Ed…Forward lean on irons, more for high loft less for shallow loft, means not always having the shaft pointing at the belt buckle. Is this ok? Or do you place the ball in your stance so that you always point to the buckle?
That is correct on the different forward leans. It’s a good question on how to address the ball I like starting every club at the belt, buckle and learning that impact is different but many people, especially newer players. It helps to establish that forward lean address. The only issue with having the handle forwarded address is it causes many peopleto take the club too far to the inside on the take away. I hope that answers your question.
Interesting point about Rory’s 65 in rd 1. He did put two drives in the water and it sounded like his irons were sharp. Trying to strike the balance I suppose. Seems like the tradeoff paid off.
Nice, I took notes and will add to my full swing practice regime. Question. When practicing on mats, how can you put the alignment sticks in the ground? I'm assume one will need to purahce some alignment training aid that hols them. (More places are switching to mats vs grass which really sucks, on the range, I've noticed).
I saw someone use an empty ball bucket turned upside down, and sliding the alignment stick into that. I haven't tried it yet. I was going to ask if you swing above or below the alignment stick, as 3 feet behind I think I'd likely hit it.
Lol. He's no 2 in the world he doesn't "struggle with irons" His driving is the best in the world so maybe his iron play doesn't seem quite as stellar but it's still miles better than 99.99% of the golf world.

Awesome!
I love the content you provide. Thank you. Fore!! 😎⛳
7:16 As soon as Coach Ed picked up 2 clubs, I was waiting for this to happen. 😂😂
Are you saying with driver & FWs to swing flatter, around, no so much up & down like an iron? What about hybrids?

@@edschwent1630 Thanks very much Ed. Good explanation. Really enjoying your instruction. 👍
How would you compare with hybrid… iron and driver.

oh yes, good idea!@@richardwm2
Oh if only we (me) COULD learn to have a single feel for every club and have similar outcomes ,the joy golf would be for us ( me) 😬👍🏼✌️
Shouldn't the light stick tool take care of this?

But for him , he is or was struggling even if those struggles would be the best shots of my life 😂
He is having a lot of misses to the left and to the right even when driving, and is he flipping?
He was just thinking about seeing Amanda Bazionus after he got done 😂
@@jessecooper9795I don’t know who that is but googled the name and think you meant Balionis not Bazionus ? ✌️
@vicpnut1 can't get in trouble for anything when the name is spelled wrong lol. Yes, it was intentional
@@jessecooper9795 oops my bad 🤦🏼♂️…i honestly had no clue who she was lol
@vicpnut1 it's all good lol. We just know Rors wasn't just talking about his driver when he said "I hit that" 🤣
