- I find the Hexatrek’s biggest ball, the ballon d’alsace! I also almost lose my drone to a bird of prey and magically heal a knee injury! Oh and I passed 300kms.

I used to be a weekend warrior backpacker/day hiker, but some recent health issues have prevented me from enjoying the trail as much. Your videos encourage me to do what I can and enjoy it without letting myself get discouraged.

I think I missed this one. When we were at the Grand Ballon, there was so much fog that we didn't see the top and had no view.
In France you can always ask people to fill your waterbottle at their home. And in the mountains, water is often drinkable.
Flying the drone is very stressful, I think so anyway. That's why I don't take it anymore... and I also had to climb a tree to retrieve my drone!
I hope your knee is better...

Yeah several people have filled my bottles :) and the water in the alps is excellent.
Flying the drone is getting less stressful but the first few times were 😬

Ugh, random muscle aches are so annoying! My partner and I hiked a part of the GR34 recently, and one day I had this... Not so much cramp or spasm, but more like a muscle in my calf had just hardened up or something. And it was a very strange, burning sort of sensation and nothing I did helped. Until I stopped and decided to try a bit of deep tissue massage (or as far as I can call it that, considering I'm not a pro massage therapist 😝) using the top of one of my walking sticks. I put it between my calf and upper leg, then used my one hand to pull my lower leg towards me to hold the walking stick in there without tensing my leg, and then with my other hand I just moved the walking stick around a bit like a joystick. May sound weird, I guess it's easier to show it than explain it, but it was such a relief and I felt much better after I'd done that for a few minutes. I know it's been a while by now since you filmed this, but I hope your knee (nor other body parts) hasn't been giving you issues anymore!
Just the worst! Thank you haha I’ve used the trekking pole trick as well, it’s very helpful! Thankfully the knee hasn’t given me any problems lately. And hopefully it stays that way!

The Blue Devil is a monument for a mountain unit from the French army in world war I. Germans destroyed it when they occupied France in 1940. A French artist rebuild it in 1960.
Your filter was clogged, at least last year these types of filters were much faster than everything else.
Hopefully your knee didn't bother you since.
Great video, worth watching every minute, way better than others from the AT where they just complain all the time. Of course it's hard for you to be dirty as you are more a classy hiker than hiker trash ^^. You even carry the BA footprint, a simple nylon cloth but the price matches the tent somehow.

The filter is not clogged, just slow. It was brand new and had only filtered clear water.

Haha everyone is saying I look clean somehow but I don’t smell it 😂 the BA footprint is so I can use it as a tarp tent as well. It clips in to provide more options.
