What a great side trail.
The fresh mussles must have been great.
And yes, you're on a bracht Vacation!
Sorry about the little creature in your tent. Didn't catch what is was. I guess they have different animals/birds overthere!
All the best! Kaat
Omg 🥲 the memories! Been there three times and longing to get back. Thx for sharing
Isn’t it just beautiful? I hope you get back there!
Is it just me, but one of your hiking companions sometimes reminds me of a young Woody Harrelson.
I could see that!
"Weka tooka shit in my tent" congratulations on being able to speak fluent Kiwi!
😅😅😅
Phenomenal job of capturing an amazing adventure … in the middle of a thru-hike!👏 I have to let that sink in 🤔✨
Thank you! Right? How surreal to have an adventure on an adventure!
Awesome video . Kayaking is so much fun. It is great to see how people are so friendly and are willing to help the hikers, they make the trip even more special
Absolutely- makes the journey even more special :)
You and Quadzilla have provided me with a good collection of side quests for my TA hike. Please keep doing you, you lovely weird hiking folk.
Glad you like them! (The side quests are better than a good portion of the trail, so definitely do some!)
Lauren you Rock

The sun goesup
You make The world a better place
@@0obusteroo720 aww thank you! That’s so kind
ITS A POOPING TENT
same as a regular tent, it just has poop in it. 😁
It was so gross haha. Luckily there was some cleaning spray in the kitchen area 😅
Ah. Such a wonderful time 😊
Yes it was!☺️
the little jelly things at 14 mins is what we typically call sea lice. Those are the larvae 😊
Ahh okay! I had no idea!
Wekas are like pesky chickens! Kayaking must be a weird transition: sitting all day using your upper body rather than walking and climbing all day. And stingray, come on. What a cool adventure.
Exactly- just like pesky chickens. This was such a cool place, and my arms were definitely feeling it after two days!
my word, those chaps look like kiwis the weka look like entertainment and this is a very enjoyable video.
Thank you, Lauren
Thanks! Haha they’re a silly bunch :)
Ahh so you just decided to take a little side trip to one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Brilliant idea !!
Oh those Wekas. One actually tried to steal my tent fly when I was drying it on the Queen Charlotte Track.
Hahah it sure was beautiful! And those wekas sure are cheeky!
Most people say sting-ray, but I say stin-gray. I feel my pronunciation makes them less dangerous.
Haha I like it
Gorgeous!
It sure was! I loved this little trip :)
Hi Lauren. How were the sandflies. Kayaked AT 1999. Savaged by them when the sun went down.
Not bad honestly- they were around but not any more than usual
