Varric is not wrong. Cullen is very pretty. But my bet is between Cassandra and Leliana. Leliana is versed in both politics and combat. Cassandra is likewise, but as a warrior instead of a rogue.
@@Witzke231 Let's not forget Josephine. She is much younger than Leliana and Cassandra but she is also a noble like Cassandra and well versed in the game. She has a lot of potential. Vivienne warms to him, but she recognizes a very real danger most fans fail to appreciate: Cole can become a demon and kill unceremoniously. And even SHE warms up to Cole at the end, learning that there's a grey she never appreciated before, even if there's a danger companionship can't remove.

I'm glad there are more video game developers that remember that your party members are people who can form their own opinions about the world around them. Dorian-Cole is absolutely amazing! In fact, all of Dorian's banter is wonderful, his VA is so masterful. I LOVE Solas/Dorian, how they geek out over the Fade together, lol.
I like it when he makes references on different series when you go to talk to him in the tavern. "He teaches them to fight with a secret flaw, part of a glorious strategy."-Jade Empire "He was their enemy the whole time, but she made him forget, so he could change."-Knights of the Old Republic "There is no other man. He becomes the other man to do the things he can't."-Fight Club "He didn't kill his father. He was his father."-Star Wars "He was dead the whole time, he didn't know."-The Sixth Sense "They don't know, but it's made of people."-Soylent Green
Overlord0011 i loved the soylent green reference, i wasn't expecting it and i think i laughed for an hour. The fight club one didn't click and it should have.
Overlord0011 ""There is no other man. He becomes the other man to do the things he can't."-Fight Club" I always though he was talking about Blackwall there.
NU121493255 Nah, if you listen to the banter, you hear how *SPOILERS!* Cole never considered Blackwall as being Rainier, but as the one that killed Rainier.
+Iluvatar Erú or it shows just how smart they are. While I admit The Witness isn't as grand scale as some claim I think you underestimate Undertale a bit. I might be biased cause I love mediums that break the fourth wall but Undertale was inspired by one of the most respected RPGs of all time, Earthbound. It changed up the combat system to fit the universe and even broke it's own rules to show it's unique side. Hate it all you want but do not say the game is nothing but meme infestation when it is less filled with pop culture references than what inspired it. Not to mention the soundtrack is so damn good. The game had one creator who did the story, drew some characters and wrote all the music with little help. That is dedication and it did it's intended job.
***** First off the word is spelled metaphors not metaphores. If you are going to insult one of the most effective literary devices out there then at least spell it correctly. Secondly learn how to actually make a point cause you jumbled a bunch of crap to try and defend your opinion. Learn the definition of metaphor before insulting it. The word means a comparison without using the words like or as. What you claimed they were spouting as metaphors were in fact memes which if we look through the history of gaming the memes inspired shows the game made an impact. I mean Skyrim revolutionized dragons in combat for RPGs yet we also earned the arrow to the knee meme. So sure the game has a few memes like you're going to have a bad time. Does that detract from the game? No. What I'd love to know is why you think the fact the community has in jokes makes it a bad game. Portal has the cake is a lie and yet that game is hard for a lot of people who don't do great with puzzles but also provides witty NPC banter. So Toby Fox is the devil for making a good game that is fun to a lot of people? Wow I thought the point of games was to make you enjoy yourself and on occasion think. Undertale and Portal both display this. Portal makes you think outside the box to solve problems while Undertale makes you question RPG logic where most RPGs always have you killing the enemies to get better. Undertale makes you think about why we have that system and goes against the mold by giving you alternatives. It took a genre and gave it a concept that will affect the rest of that genre for years to come. If anything Toby Fox did he made people think. And that is what a good game should do. Make the gamer think about a concept or idea. Sorry but dude you need to learn about what makes a good game. Have your opinion but don't defend it so poorly and stay on point when you do try.
***** I love how you assume that I think memes are culturally enriching when I never implied that at all. I said they came out of games people consider groundbreaking. While Undertale was not the first to do what it did it brought the genre back to the playing field. People do enjoy games like it, Earthbound or Mother 3. Please ask any gamer with any cred within JRPG or western RPG realms and tell me they have not played Earthbound or at least know of it's historical significance in gaming. Toby Fox made a spiritual successor of sorts with a rather compelling story to it. When a game makes you feel like a total asshole for killing anything within it(minus Flowey cause hey he's a dick and everyone knows it) you know you did a good job.Oh yes because you are such a cultured snob to think anything not made before 2000 was any good. Gonna go cry about how today's gamers are all generalized as idiots? Sorry but dude I've been gaming since the 90's and I know a thing or two about what is good and what isn't. Also Skyrim's dragons though rather easy to fight as you leveled(except maybe the DLC dragon types for awhile) were revolutionary into making the ones in later RPGs what they are today. Sure it wasn't perfect but it stepped up the bar for the creature being an enemy on screen. Please actually give me real reasons as to why today's gamers are stupid because you haven't once proven that point or given me any real reason that games like Undertale are bad. I can accept hate for a game I love but will never understand blind rage over something without even bothering to try and realize why people like it. There are reasons Skyrim has lasted and is still having mods made for additional content and fun skins for things done all the time. Good games last while others fade away. But by all means explain yourself. Bet you are just another fake hipster gamer who doesn't know a thing about the history of video games.
Cole: "But you hate demons." Iron Bull: "Listen, Cole; you might be a weird, squirrely kid, but you're MY weird, squirrely kid." I'm beginning to believe that what Jason Nakao said was not only spot-on, but reflects almost a Sten-sort of distanced, but lovable, persona-- Ooooooh, right, Qunari! This just got better!
I JUST realized that Cole is talking about Merrill with the "If you don't get some sunshine you'll wilt" thing when Varric asks him how he is. ughhh I love listening to Cole and picking apart everything he says, I swear there are always more little references to find :P
Varric: In that story of yours, the fisherman watching the stars, dying alone.. You thought he gave up, right? Solas: Yes..? Varric: But he went on living! He lost everyone but he still got up every morning, he made a life. Even if it was alone. That's the world; everything you build it tears down, everything you got it takes, and it's gone forever. The only choices you get are to lie down and die or keep going. He kept going. That's as close to beating the world as anyone gets. Varric... That's awesome. He literally is one of the best characters in gaming. For all the knowledge Solas has, Varric is the true legend here. To some, he may seem simple. But honestly, that is one of the reasons why he is such a deep character. He understands life, and thus doesn't require so much complexion. I shall love him forever!
TRESPASSER SPOILERS: Given that the story is more or less about Solas himself (as he lost "his family and tribe" when he destroyed the "elven world" by creating the fade), Varric's comment becomes interesting. Solas, as revealed by the Fade mission, fears dying alone. For him not to try and restore the fade as it once was by tearing the Veil apart as he plans to do in trespasser is to give up and die. But as "intellectual" as Solas is, Varric is the one with the actual wisdom; nothing lasts forever but the certainty of change. But Solas will keep clinging to the past, and it will likely be his undoing.
Crazy that BioWare wrote, programmed, and coordinated the voice acting for 5 1/2 hours of banter that you’ll likely miss the majority of. The banter and its companions are easily the best part of the game. Props, BioWare. This video made me love the game so much more

+congokong87 He was referring to what Vivienne thought of Morrigan
"PLEASE SPEAK UP! I CANNOT HEAR YOU OVER YOUR OUTFIT!"
I'm dead😂😂💀💀
Wait what time

Blackwall: "Hay, Cole! Say something interesting."
Cole: "Something interesting"
Blackwall: "Yes, I deserve that one"
Solas to Vivienne: Enchanter, any Pride Demon you met would just walk away, shaking it's head and laughing uncontrollably.
Ha!
Cole: "But you hate demons."
Iron Bull: "Listen, Cole; you might be a weird, squirrely kid, but you're MY weird, squirrely kid."
I'm beginning to believe that what Jason Nakao said was not only spot-on, but reflects almost a Sten-sort of distanced, but lovable, persona--
Ooooooh, right, Qunari! This just got better!
206Zelda honestly when bull said "but your My weird squirly kid" I started crying
Solas and Vivienne... Masters of passive aggressiveness.
Solas outplays even her.
Sera shouting "Two of you doesn't make this normal!" After Solas and Dorian spent several lines nerding out about magic nearly killed me.
the ignorant elven chav scared of people smarter than her a.k.a everyone
Jesus Christ....
Cole is so amazing with everyone.
He just wants to help.
cole is like a child in many ways.
Says the fucking brony
Of course you idiots wouldn't like Cole.
Jetstream Sam Woah calm down there mate.
He's wonderful !! Love him
Right! If Cole was here in real life I'd be best friends with him. Then again he'd be everyone's best friend.
I JUST realized that Cole is talking about Merrill with the "If you don't get some sunshine you'll wilt" thing when Varric asks him how he is. ughhh I love listening to Cole and picking apart everything he says, I swear there are always more little references to find :P
Bull: "I see all that time alone has given you a firm grip."
BULL!!! HAHAHA
"Hey... don't Top from the Bottom."
Cole: That won’t hurt me. It’s friendly fire!”
Me: Turns off friendly fire to protect best ghost boy.
Cole casually breaking the 4th wall.
Do you knwo the time stamp? Or at least who HES talking yo
@@sagetheperson3295 if I'm not mistaken he was talking to dorian
TRESPASSER SPOILERS:
Given that the story is more or less about Solas himself (as he lost "his family and tribe" when he destroyed the "elven world" by creating the fade), Varric's comment becomes interesting.
ZaZaCobra an eternity of lifetimes doesn’t equate to Varrics thirty odd years
Except that a good portion of the "eternity of lifetimes" was spent asleep. So that doesn't make as much of a difference as you think it does.
Cole is a beautiful cinnamon roll too good for this world, too pure
+Angel of the Fall I've seen him referred to as a cinnamon roll two times already. Why? Whatever it means, I agree wholeheartedly. X3
+Joshua Giordano hmm swiss roll, belgian swiss roll, covered in icing.
Well he is the literal personification of compassion and kindess
"Is that... good?"
Mossy He’s cute too...
I love how Bull and Solas get annoyed at Sera for stealing their kills.
IT would be funny if the Inquisitor could chip in with "Calm down. It's party EXP, guys."
nitehawk86 Yeah!
Now iron bull knows how I feel when he chains them away from me just about when I kill them
“You keep hurting because you think hurting is who you are, why would you do that?”
The way dorians voice breaks when he asked him to stop 😭
all those sexual innuendos between bull and dorian... LMAO IM DEAD...
I love it! 😁
And Sera's comment about it 🤣
"I'm not sure what's worse, the imagery or the accuracy."
I love that since neither Varric nor Blackwall want to talk about themselves, they start talking about sports. Classic dad behavior.
I love Solas giving Sera instructions on how to be a rebel against the Man...where on earth did he ever learn about that.
+Koda Jolly I wonder...........
+Koda Jolly After finishing the Trespasser DLC, I wish I didn't know.
Solas be like "you're such a scrub Sera. Allow me to teach you the technique of 'getting gud'."
+Ethan Stansmore Solas is a pompous sun bro
Crazy that BioWare wrote, programmed, and coordinated the voice acting for 5 1/2 hours of banter that you’ll likely miss the majority of. The banter and its companions are easily the best part of the game. Props, BioWare. This video made me love the game so much more
