Just love my S23 Ultra in every way. All the hype is realized and there to enjoy. I skipped the Exynos S22 Ultra last year as I heard a few crazy reports that the S23 Ultra would be Snapdragon only here in the UK. Thank heaven for crazy reports. 😊😊👍👍

It was a big jump, literally and figuratively, from my old S9. Samsung gave me a great trade in value and the S23 is such a beast all around. No regrets so far.
I had a Galaxy S10 for 3 years, it was an excelent phone, but it was time to upgrade, got the Galaxy S23 Ultra, it took some time to get used to a bigger phone, but it is worth it, it is an awesome phone.
The joy and satisfaction of watching this on my s23 ultra is unmatched🔥🔥
I'm glad I didn't hear at the end: "If you want the best in a phone and a phone that can do everything, get the S23 Ultra. Meanwhile, I'll go back to my iPhone that can do only half of what the S23 Ultra can do because ecosystem or something." That was refreshing.

Yeah it's always interesting to see how dedicated iPhone users make dedicated content on these Samsung flagship phones since you know for a fact they aren't switching away from their iPhones (some of them state this up front), and the primary reason for making the content is simply to get a lot of views

@Shane Symonds EXACTLY 💯 👏🏾 👌🏽 Great Review 👍🏽, you hit the nail on the head, that's why i stop watching majority of UA-cam reviewers they were too pro Apple, their biases against Samsung and other Android makers was showing lol.
Their phones are nice hardware but the whole Samsung phones do more is untrue. There’s a whole lot more of things that an iPhone can do that a Samsung phone can’t at all. Beside it having a pen what more can it do? It can do split screen multitasking lol. The iPhone does so many more deep level advanced things. Core audio, true audio input support on all fronts (Samsung phones have awful audio input support/can’t read external mics properly)
Samsung phones can’t record 4K60fps 10 bit Dolby vision video, Samsung phones can’t edit video anywhere near the level of performance an iPhone can, and with such horrible external audio input support you can’t have any assurances if wanting to edit anything on the phone. iPhone has way more deep pro features. Samsung phones have windows multitasking and ppl call that doing more lol. Ecosystem is one thing, but that’s not what makes iPhone superior, even though it does have a far superior ecosystem along with software that does not exist on android.
Let’s also not forget Samsung has been the one company that has shamelessly copied everything apple does right down to making literal iPhone clones with the first galaxy. They’ve copied air drop now, have tried to copy continuity, I mean what haven’t they copied from apple? 90% of their entire mobile business is based on copying apple lol.
Its not just the new processor that helps improve battery life on the S23 Ultra.
It also has a more power efficient screen and a bigger heatsink to cool the processor...that contributes more to the improved battery.

@@niphanif nope. The screen doesn't get as warm as previous generation amoled displays. It is definitely converting more if the electrical energy to light than heat.
I used to be the upgrade every year guy but only for the Note series so I held on to my Note 20 Ultra once Samsung killed the Note. Wasn't tempted by any of the new releases until the S23 Ultra dropped. Got it about a week ago and coming from the Note 20, this is a major upgrade. The overall feel of the phone is awesome and the battery life is truly amazing. Haven't had the opportunity to use the cameras in picturesque settings yet but looking forward to when I do. I'm really loving this phone. Samsung hit it out of the park with this one!

@Shane Symonds I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the battery life is great! I have gotten up to 11 hours of screen on time. With QHD+ 120hz turned on, apps running in the background, watching a lot of UA-cam videos, etc. The cameras are so good. I love the cameras.

@Kent Wong Well, I don't max out my display brightness, I leave it on Auto-brightness. I try not to fully charge or fully drain my phone. Everything else I leave on. I max out my refresh rate, max out screen resolution. It'll probably be good to stay on WiFi as much as possible and use dark mode. But I think it all boils down to how I use my phone. You may have to use your phone the way you do to get that type of screen on time. Now, I say up to 11, but that's collective screen on time. My actual screen on time be about 6-7 and a half almost 8.

I am verry happy with my S23 Ultra. Is it perfect? No, not 1 smartphone is perfect. But it is 1 or maybe the best smartphone theire is. The software is great and better now, the batterylife is finally good now. Stabilization by video is also better now. I love it. Its smooth.
I think the Note 10+ was about the best form factor out of all of them.

@@ShaneSymonds I was always an iPhone user, last one was iPhone 6+. I got tired of buying almost the same phone over and over again.
Samsung to me makes the best phones, I moved away from Notes and now on Fold 4. Not going back to a regular phone.

This phone is really amazing. My last big samsung flagship phone was the galaxy S4. I have been too keen in buying another flagship for the next 10 years. But boy oh boy this knocks it out of the park

Right now I'm watching this video on my s23 ultra which is at 80% battery with 2hr 20 mins of screen on time and feeling pretty good about it.
Mine S23 Ultra battery dropped kinda fast.... Within 10mins UA-cam from 85% dropped to 81% its acceptable?

Great review! Yes, there are improvements for the better on the S23 Ultra compared to the S22 Ultra. The battery life, the fluidity, the photo quality and the speaker sound are all a notch higher than the older Flagship. No regrets trading in my older S22 Ultra for this.

Casetify phone cases are ridiculously expensive. Over $100 Aussie dollars is just insane.
I never get any scratches on my iPhone…yes i am an iPhone fan. Currently own an iphone 14 pro max. I have owned various Samsung and google phones . My least favorite has always been Samsung for a good number of reasons . Every Samsung phone i owned slowed down and really poor battery life within 4 months of ownership compared to any iphone i have owned. This review showed great battery.. hint..every android based phone shows great when new. Give it 4 months and then we can talk…
Now though this new s23ultra seems like Samsung may have finally got it right. If i could afford it i would be tempted to buy it and run it through its paces against my Iphone 14 pro max. I prefer to test myself as most of these reviewers are bias and even i know how to compare and make either Iphone or Samsung phone look the best. This here review is well done. I will check back on reviews at approximately the 4 month mark. So far overall impression from an Iphone owner is quite good for the S23 Ultra.

I get mines Monday and I can't wait. I'm still going to keep my 12 Pro Max but I feel like I'm going to enjoy this one more.
I switch from the 12 Pro to the S23+ so I’m in a similar boat. It takes a while to get used to the differences between IOS and Galaxy
But I like the S23+’s display and camera astronomically more

You didn't mention that the screen is about 20% more efficient which being the heaviest battery drain by far would be the main reason for better battery life
The curve difference is subtle but very noticeable in daily usage. I never, and I mean NEVER, have the issue of hitting erroneous keys on the keyboard near the edge like I did on the past devices when trying to type one-handed and reaching for the keys on the far side of the phone. I'd still be fine with it totally flat, but this amount of a curve is not an issue at all. Plus far less color distortion in videos at the apex of the curve.
Agreed, I felt a little silly at first dedicating an entire portion of the video towards it but it’s enough of a difference in daily usage like you said which are the things I am always eager to share in these reviews rather than benchmarks and spec sheet changes
@@ShaneSymonds so many reviews just glossed over it saying it was "a little easier to hold" or other similarly dismissive comment, but it's *_so_* much more than that. Definitely was worth covering it in more detail for those still on the fence, since even haters of curved displays will find that this new very subtle curve poses no usability issues unlike Samsung's past curved displays.

Hello how to charge battery to new s23 ultra phone pls

My S23 Ultra been with me since before the release part of Pre order which means Month and half now .. well unfortunately I noticed either I call it Micro scratches or full scratch or dent such as picking up the phone upside down and scratch it at the same time .. and I noticed small dent on the side I was very frustrated because I don't remember If I did that from daily use .. took it to Samsung and after days they said it's user fault and to fix that small dent on the side must replace the screen unless if it's covered with a case which I did of course ,, so take good care of your S23 Ultra because it's easy to scratch break etc .. and the second issue I noticed is battery during 5G , maybe because 5G not good in my block or near my home coverage that's why it takes a lot of battery for that .. I switched to 4G and same and I noticed also when using 5G battery for example on Instagram or Snapchat or Twitter reaches up to 11% , while on Wi-Fi same Apps reaches up to 5%-6% of Battery .
Overall coming from Galaxy S8 to S23 Ultra which is years difference is night and day of course and worth the upgrade the sound with Dolby Speaker , the speed processing and camera so great , no update will ever fix the dent that I apparently caused on the side of the phone , but I hope they Improve the battery when using 5G Service where it don't take much of battery comparing when using Wi-Fi.

Do you think it's noticeable the 8gb ram s23 ultra over the 12gb ram s23 ultra? Is it worth it to get one over the other
You probably won’t notice a major difference, but for what’s it’s worth I just checked the RAM on my 12GB model and it’s sitting at 6.6GB RAM being used. There is something called “RAM Plus” which also uses some of your phones storage as virtual memory if needed, so you’re probably fine with 8

I only managed to get 6hrs and 30 mins max of screen on time with about one day of overall usage with my S23 ultra
just set it on battery saver lol, lasts me a day
I love mine. Easily the best phone i've owned.
The Note 10+ used to last about 2 days 23 hours on one charge. I still prefer the more sleek design of the Note series than the S Ultra series. They should bring back the Note IMO. Many of us like the curved screen for gaming and watching media.
Interesting to hear the other side of it because I’d prefer my screen to be completely visible to me (that’s the reason I showed a gaming clip in this video) and when watching content on previous curved Samsung screens I’d always tap the corners of the screen by accident when holding it landscape. So the middle ground solution here of slightly curved screen and extra room to hold the phone on the edges is appreciated from me!

There’s not a massive difference in my personal use and testing. It was insignificant enough for me to not mention it in the video. Colors look nicer on the S23 Ultra (grass is greener, etc) but that could just be post processing for all I know.

Dear Shane ,love the comments you are doing on the Samsung s23ultra one question I have is on the front of the screen how does the phone reacts to having a tempered glass screen protector with say 9h strength which is a strong plastic would this work good with optic screen phone open with finger and then putting a full leather case back and front for carrying phone 👍👍

@@sulem1234 I use my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra for taking calls and texting and that's why my phone can last 4 days battery life. Try factory reset in your phone and the phone will learn your phone battery usage.
Always use a screen protector. Can't stand micro scratches.

In the uk everyone you look at have an iPhone don’t know anyone yet who has switched. I have used both android and ios both good again personal preference. I do like this phone and currently have the 14 pro max but can switch at anytime with the contract l am on but when you have two iPads the Apple Watch and AirPods it makes the switch hard as would then have to try and sell all my Apple products this damn ecosystem is like a cult once your in you can’t get out.

It's a great phone, but anyone watching this thinking you will hetb3 days battery life unless you only use it to see the time every now an then you have no chance of 3 days, it will last you a day none gaming but if you don't charge that night it won't last you very long the next day, if you play games you will get a few hours

upgraded from the S22 U to the S23 Ultra and have to say it's definitely unnecessary. Best overall phone out as the S22 U was last year.

@@Lawz1993 Never had battery issues with the S22 Ultra. Gave it to my wife and it's still going strong. This one does better though.
I also got an upgrade from the s22 ultra and battery wise the 23 ultra is leaps and bounds better with a faster processor.

Forget about all those overpriced Sam, Xiaomi,apples . Just go with the OnePlus 11 amazing beast with fantastic battery life .. importantly never break your pocket..
