Hey there! Fellow '05 Honda Accord EX w/NAVI owner here! The Accord originally belonged to my ex-fiance. We married in 2018 and since then I've replaced tons of stuff. She bought the Accord when it had 90K miles. The original owner lied about the car not being in an accident (never reported to insurance, and I found out by taking panels/parts off). I've since replaced and rattle can sprayed the following: rear bumper, swapped front bumper to 2007 front bumper, right side front panel, and the hood. Then rattle can sprayed and clearcoated them all myself. A lot of people were surprised it was rattle canned. LOL I then installed fog lights, hydraulic struts to the hood, lip spoiler (rattle canned), and converted headlights to HID retrofit w/DRL lights. Replaced all inside bulbs to LED, replaced power steering pump and lines (they were leaking), replaced spark plugs and ignition coils, EGR, valve seals, VTEC solenoid seals, air intake tube, front/rear/right side engine mounts, stitched leather steering wheel, throttle body, oil, transmission fluids, o2 sensors, radiator, tires, starter,..and the list just goes on. It sounds like I've invested tons of money but I dare say no more than $1,500 was spent. I think the biggest and most frustrating issue I've come across was isolating & fixing the "P0171, P0420, and P0507" codes. After all that was fixed, it was a pure joy taking the car out on a road trip last year. The car now has 215K miles and puts out 19 city/29 highway MPG. Which is way better than what my Toyota Tundra puts out (16/19). I will drive the Accord till it croaks. But my wife on the other hand rather let it go and buy a new Lexus. Sheesh! LOL
It is burning oil since it is a high mileage vehicle (already has 272,800 since this AM). But I was able to remedy it by using Seafoam, applying it in the crankcase, intake valve and even in the gas tank. And so far, no oil burning and it’s running really well! I’m thinking about buying one right now
Was replacing the power steering simple? Was it just the hose? It seems most 05 Accord have that issue
Planning on getting one with that many miles haha
how much did you par for it?
I bought it used at Honda dealer for $5,500 a few years ago(2016). They were selling it to me around $10K but I didn’t budge for my offer.
Hey cool car,, do you have any oil consumption?
