Israel is a great place to visit. i spent a month there in 2015 on a business trip and fell in love with the country. I stayed in Haifa, which I think is a very underestimated city. I didn't visit many of the Must-see sites, but that didn't matter. The highlights were working directly with Israelis and taking a couple trips from Haifa to Jerusalem and enjoying the country side scenery. When I visited the Western Wall, I didn't realize that men and women have separate areas, and almost walked into the women's side of the wall; fortunately a very kind guide directed me to the men's side. Keep up the great videos. Shalom
Thanks Oren, Israel needs to grasp that you are a national treasure. Your channel is really helping educate us all about Israel. Hope you can do some vids on archaeological sites like Shiloh, Jericho, Tel Dan, etc. Take care and keep up the great work.
As a working woman in the US who has a hard time getting days off. I visited Old Jerusalem, Yad Vashem and Massada. I also hike Ein Gedi ( I think that is how you spell it), so yay, you are telling me I targeted the right places in the time I was there. I am definitely going back to Israel to see more, I couldn't get enough. Unfortunately I can't retire there, because it is too expensive.
I've made several trips to Israel, and the problem I have is finding new places to visit. On my next visit, I hope to visit Or Yehuda. It's an obscure industrial town just north of Ben Gurion Airport, but it has the tomb of Yehuda (Judah) the son of Jacob and ancestor of David. It also has what looks like an interesting museum on Babylonian Jewry. Sometimes there are obscure sites in isolated areas, bypassed by package tours, which are just as interesting, or more interesting than the major sites.
I've been to Israel twice, once on a kibbutz for a year, in 1977, and 2 weeks in 2018. Had to cancel my third trip twice due to the virus. Looking forward to Israel opening up again soon for travel so I can visit again. Stay safe.
I can't imagine a visit to Israel with visiting Yad Vashem. As a Christian I was literally crying and shocked as I wasn't expecting what to see. I would say every tourist must visit there to understand the Jewish people more.
@@Travelingisraelinfo Thanks, I'm sure it will not only be educational but emotional as well. I remember seeing many older Jews in Melbourne, Australia a few years back with the tattooed numbers on their forearms. It was a wake up call to how cruel humans can be to each other.
Mitzpe Ramon - very exciting place to visit, with the cliff that looks like a camel, and back in the 80's there was a building telling a lot about the crater - One thing I will recommend is the tomb of Ben Gurion, at the border of the Negev - it may seem strange to visit the place but there is a kind of spiritual thing there, which is hard to describe. Also Timna Valley, with the Mushroom Rock, the pillars of Salomon and Solomons mines - when I was there, we walked through the place, which took us all day, but very exciting, we also found this kind of field, where there is a lot of rocks which is egg shaped, and ofc we did not take any of the rocks. - Masada, yes but be up there before the sun rice and watch the sun go up above the Jordanian mountains, you can litteraly see the sun move on the sky. - I must say, I really enjoy your video's and i'm longing back to my youth, where I was in Kibbutz for a while and later on back packed through Israel from north to south.
Hi, Oren - I agree with you on "must-see" travel sites. I think the Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv is an interesting attraction. I have just produced a photo booklet about it. Suzanne Molineaux
I've enjoyed each of your videos I've watched. Thanks you for the excellent ideas. I love seeing again, several of the places we visited. My daughter, Shauna, gave me a Christmas gift two years ago of a 10 day tour of Israel. We finally were able to book the tour for the end of November 2019 and returned to Canada December 1, 2019. I loved every minute of it all the way from Tel Aviv to Capernaum where Jesus taught in the synagogue, to the Daniel Hotel on the Dead Sea. One of the highlights was to visit a water fall in En Gedi where King David may have refreshed himself. Masada was on my 'bucket list" and I was not disappointed. Another BL was Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. I really need to come back to Israel for another visit. Most special to me was to visit the Garden Tomb.
My first video after lock down will be about Garden Tomb. And Qumran is a fascinating place. The reason I don't mention it often is that you need there a good guide. If you come there by yourself, you won't understand a thing.
The hubby and I love your channel. Love your videos, your straight talk and you make us so excited to visit and see the holy land. God Bless, I think you're doing great work. Your extremely well informed video about the "10 things people didn't know about the Arab-Israeli conflict" was spot on. 🇸🇪👋🇮🇱 Yay! A new video. Really interesting and great one, there seems to be a lot of things to explore in your country. It would be fun to know a little more of different ethnicities in Israel. I read somewhere there's a huge French speaking community in Tel Aviv, for example. And also, what about the Ladino and Yiddish languages? Does the government encourage minority languages or are they more inclined to try to conform most to the Hebrew language? Sorry for the many questions but your videos kickstart many thoughts. 😁

Ben Gurion? I made my first visit to Israel as a teen way back in 1969. We got off the plane on the tarmac, walked inside straight to customs, then a short walk to baggage claim. Now, as in the case of all modern airports, you have to walk two miles or more around the terminal. I am convinced that those who design the modern airports never travel by air themselves. I would recommend a day or two in Beer Sheva. I know. Everyone says there is nothing in Beer Sheva. Not true. It's close to Tel Sheva National Park, which is the site of the biblical Beer Sheva. Within the city is a small, but nice art museum. You can go through it in less than an hour, but it is within walking distance of the local shuk, the outdoor market, which is an experience in itself. From there stop off at Arabica for a nice lunch, if it is open. (Google maps says it is closed, but I am sure you can find another nice place to eat.) Beer Sheva is also the closest city to Sde Boker, where you can visit the home and grave of David Ben-Gurion.
I visited in 2017..for me the old town is a definite must see but lying just outside the Damascus Gate is in my opinion, another must see site especially if you are interested in Jesus...the garden tomb is a lovely oasis of calm in comparison to a busy old town...it is the second possible site of the tomb where Jesus lay and was later resurrected. I think its a far better candidate for this.. The air is electric around there..
Before the world lockdown due to pandemic was able to visit jerusalem and bethlehem for 2day trip last february 2020.... its hard because its weekend in israel and what ive learn is as a tourist you need to visit the city during regular days not weekend... i was not able go inside dome of the rock just see it from outside due to friday holy day for islam and i think israli poilce doesnt allow non islam to go inside..and tower of david and in bethlehem other sites too... but i wish i can visit israel again....and explore more...
Another wonderful video! We will schedule a tour with you once Covid allows us to return to Israel 🇮🇱❤️ (ps we bought your guides on Amazon and they are great, too. Colorful, detailed, and an asset when planning a visit.)
Thanks for asking for suggestions. I wonder if you could walk us through the public transportation options in Jerusalem and explain how to pay for a ride including how to navigate kiosks if necessary.
Another nice video. By the way - how is Israel doing pandemic wise? Are sites opening up now. I've really enjoyed your books i purchased and would love to start seriously planning a trip now. Peace.
If I had to think of a must stay place in the Negev, it would be Sde Boker and not Mitzpe Ramon and this for several reasons. 1. From my experience, a lot of tourists coming to Israel are even more impressed by the Zin valley scenery at Ben Gurion's grave and around than they are by the Ramon Crater. 2. Sde Boker is very central in the Negev Highland area so it is very convenient as a base to discover the Negev. It is just half an hour from Mitzpe Ramon, but it is also 20 minutes from the Big Crater which in my opinion is no less spectacular than the Ramon Crater, if only because it is smaller and therefore more concentrated in colors and depth. You can also visit more out of the beaten path areas like Nitzana area at the border with Egypt with it's dunes and agriculture. If you stay in Mitzpe Ramon, there is a good chance this is the only place you will see. If you are in Sde Boker area, it opens a lot more possibilities. 3. Sde Boker has more to offer in terms of attractions. It is right in the middle of the three Nabatean cities (Avdat, Shivta - a must see and Mamshit). You also have modern history with Ben Gurion's hut and grave and if you are lucky and find it open, one of my favorite places - Mitzpe Revivim. And everything the area has to offer, by far the highest number of marked hiking trails, natural water springs (Ein Avdat and Ein Akev). 4. On top of it's specifities, it also offers everything you can find anywhere in the desert: cycling, horse riding, night safaris, scorpion safaris, stargazing, jeep tours, bedouin hospitality, camel riding, wine and cheese tasting, birdwatching (with a new center opening soon), camel rides... I would say that Mitzpe Ramon is a good choice if you only have a short time and want a small taste of the Negev. But if you really want to experience the Negev in it's diversity, Sde Boker is a much better choice.
Hello Oren, I love ur videos , Im reading right now your booklets, they´re quite interesting. By reading, I fell in love with Tel-A-Vi . I´m planning my trip to Israel, wanted to go this year but I do not think it´ll be safer to travel and open to visitors. Now , I hope that I can go October 2021. God knows best. Take care
The airport is a worthy and well chosen contender... overprized shops, bad falaffel, unfriendly staff at the burger bar - but special in it´s own right. That´s for sure :-D
You didn't mention Beit Shean or Megiddo. I found both of them more interesting than Masada. And as far as Ben Gurion, it is much different from the first time I came to Israel, 28 years ago, where you debarked the plane on the tarmac, and took a bus to the terminal. At that time, there were no lines. Even 20 years ago, it was more of a mass of people, pushing their way to customs officials. I've been pleased to note Israelis now obey no smoking signs (mostly) and are able to queue up. Also, a fun thing to do is go to a rikudei am harkada. It is incredible to see a thousand people all dancing the same choreography.
Todah Rabah (תודה רבה) Oren! Very interesting as always. The only problem in having a 'city without a break' is that Shabbat is not observed, and we know from history that when this happens, it doesn't go well for Israel. Please, if ever you have the opportunity, could you make a video about the tomb of St. George which I understand is also located in Israel, but apparently right next to a mosque or something? Is this really the resting place of the saint? Shanah Tova (שָׁנָה טוֹבָה) to you and your family. 👍 ✡️ ❤️ 🇮🇱
I love must see list but I take from each one that is good for my wishes. I love your videos. You need to do a patron site and a email address for contact.
You asked for something specific - what about doing a video looking at Haifa, and Akko? - by the way, when I first arrived in Israel, I arrived by boat into Haifa :-))) so Ben Gurion airport was not the first thing I experienced in Israel :-)))))))

I would say that Mitzpe Ramon is a good choice if you only have a short time and want a small taste of the Negev. But if you really want to experience the Negev in it's diversity, Sde Boker is a much better choice.
I will make many videos about the places you mentioned in the next months

I´m planning my trip to Israel, wanted to go this year but I do not think it´ll be safer to travel and open to visitors. Now , I hope that I can go October 2021. God knows best. Take care
Glad you like them!
The airport is a worthy and well chosen contender... overprized shops, bad falaffel, unfriendly staff at the burger bar - but special in it´s own right. That´s for sure :-D
Good on you
Excellent
Forgot the Baha’i gardens and Baha’i welcome Center under the bridge in Haifa
I love Beit Shean and Megiddo, but Masada is a much bigger symbol
Thanks bro.
Would like to see the canels near Ramla..
I can not wait to visit Israel but it is not open for tourists yet ☹️
Todah Rabah (תודה רבה) Oren! Very interesting as always. The only problem in having a 'city without a break' is that Shabbat is not observed, and we know from history that when this happens, it doesn't go well for Israel. Please, if ever you have the opportunity, could you make a video about the tomb of St. George which I understand is also located in Israel, but apparently right next to a mosque or something? Is this really the resting place of the saint? Shanah Tova (שָׁנָה טוֹבָה) to you and your family. 👍 ✡️ ❤️ 🇮🇱
Come on! Wade through Hezekiah's Tunnel and give us a guide through the original Jebusite/King David's City. I'll love to know your thoughts.
I will. Now parts of it are closed
I am impressed more i wat to see you morethan israel
Bethlehem would be on my list.
Do you give tours in Hebrew or just English?
Do you ever cover the City of David? Tel Dan?
I will make a video tour in the City of David after lockdown
❤
I hope it doesn't take too long to be able to visit Israel from America again.
I love must see list but I take from each one that is good for my wishes. I love your videos. You need to do a patron site and a email address for contact.
Please, do a video on the strictly Jewish sites.
You asked for something specific - what about doing a video looking at Haifa, and Akko? - by the way, when I first arrived in Israel, I arrived by boat into Haifa :-))) so Ben Gurion airport was not the first thing I experienced in Israel :-)))))))
Are you allowed to take pictures in the Israel museum?
Not in the shrine of the book but othere than that you can
Yad Vashem is not on the list...Why ?
Once the lockdown is over I will make a whole video exactly about that. Yad VaShem is not what most people think it is..
@@Travelingisraelinfo Ok, it will be interesting
I really want to go but is Israel open for tourism right now during the pandemic?!
Don't come now. Wait until the pandemic is over.
Sorry Oren...don't know why I wrote Doron !
