Thanks for such a good review. I have been trying to decide between the RXd 3000 and the BoS weight stack cable tower. My home gym is in a 2nd floor bedroom so I am dealing with a tight space. Weight is a consideration for what is allowed in there. I have a Nordictrack incline trainer, Sole elliptical trainer and adjustable dumbbells up there already and it is a small room. So a single tower is all I can really get up in there. The RXd looks good because it is taller , has band pegs, and has the 3x3 uprights which allows for more flexibility down the road for expansion and attachments. The BoS looks good because it allows for a better Lat Pulldown and Functional trainer experience as well as a potential belt squat option down the road (using Matt Porter’s attachments). I have never seen the attachments in person so not certain this should be a decision maker. The footprint seems better for me with BoS as it is about 2 foot square versus RXd 5 feet by 3 feet protruding out. I’d love to hear thoughts on the two compared from people who have them and have been through this decision process. Are the Matt Porter attachments great and do they make that big of a difference? Is the 3x3 wide and taller uprights more of a difference maker? Thanks
I just assembled my selectorized BoS tower last night ... I think this GetRx, for only $300 more, is a much better unit. No regrets though ... you gotta start somewhere and my BoS can keep me productive for quite a while. If I'm lucky enough to outgrow it it will be a cause for celebration.
Did you need to tighten most of your pulley bolts and everything? Most of the "pre-assembled" items I had were barely hand tight. That's fine, I just wish it would have told me in the instructions or at least an email letting me know.
Versatility is king for me, which is how I ended up with dual BoS towers. Being able to do either 2:1 or 1:1 on a single tower opens the door to so many different exercises if you like to tinker and try new movements. You can do lever arm movements (leg press, leverage squat, etc) with up to 420lbs of cable resistance, for example. Having said all that, if I was starting from scratch (and had the ceiling height) I would be extremely torn between two of these or the tornado rack. Being able to easily adjust the width of the pulleys and get them higher or lower than where the trolley can travel might outweigh the benefits of the dual cables. But either way I’m going with the equipment that lets me get the most out of it for my training over the equipment that looks and feels nicer but does less.
I feel like nothing compares in value to the BOS All-in-one trainer. Even being forced to work in their ecosystem will provide cost savings. I got the plate-loaded option and 2 standard J cups. Unbeatable value.
Ah so glad someone finally released a 3x3 pulley tower that would have been an upgrade from my titan tower. I’ve only been asking for a budget-ish option for a year. Oh well my Adonis came in and is assembled so I don’t care anymore since it took everyone too long.
Long run, what do you think will win out or is better... Ingtegrating everything on your rack, or going with a separate unit from your rack for cables, etc?
I have the Original model. Total POS. Cables catch and get stuck if you try and use at an angle. Was hoping rep would make a dual. I'm a physical therapist and I've been training for 3 1/2 decades. We all have very very slight discrepancies in arm and leg length, some more than others. I am a huge proponent of independent ISO arm/cable movements. This setup is amazing and you can easily come up with 50 plus exercises. I predominantly use this for arm day, the stack isn't heavy enough for pulldowns and rows, but adding a plate holder or 2 would do the trick.

Would love to see 5lb starting weights. The issue is since these are used for overhead lifts companies worry about people dropping heavy attachments on their heads.
I wish they would offer an upgrade option from last years model. same for their functional trainer. if not someone should offer a front 3X3 post with the old bolt connection points and the new top to bottom one inch holes. (My gripe is really with the 4 post functional trainer i purchased a few months ago)
@EnglundFam The RX3 Upright to Builder Upright Adapter mounts your RX3 Crossbars or Uprights to a Builder Upright.. THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION.. However if they reversed the design.. To mount your existing Builder Upright crossbar to the new RX3 Upright. The that would promote customer loyalty.. My own thought is to hire a local company to make two custom uprights that have the same 10mm bolt on connections.. but have the new 1 inch holes top to bottom.. Or modify my existing Uprights..
@GlucksGym when you say the Athena is a smoother system, are you referring to their trollies? If one were to replace the Athena trollies with the GetRxd tornado pivot arms, will that negate the smoothness of the Athena system?

@ probably already found you on Facebook marketplace.. what’s your offer? I found a set of 120’s with stand for 650 and a set of 125s includes the heavy handle and stand for $675. I live right by the rose bowl in Pasadena

@@wakawaka1976 no - but thats because i only used these dumbells for certain exercises and only added a few plates at a time. i have a an old rep fitness pr 3000 setup with all the old attachments ( dip/landmine/ pully/safetty straps and all that)- so the dumbells were just there for random stuff. its quick to adjust and I will say that these are by far the best adjustable dumbells out there in my opinion. they feel like regular old dumbells lol. if your interested in the ironmaster and old rack of mine with the attachments let me know - prolly cut you a sweet deal
100%. I have the BoS one and the lack of compatibility really holds it back. The weird tub sizing means you're completely limited to what they put out and since they don't make a basic seat with a leg holder, you can forget heavy lat pulldowns. Great for lots of other exercises though, but if you've got the choice, go for compatibility.
@@GetRxd I'm an inch taller than Gluck and I have a tall torso. I guess I'm not most people? This would more than likely eliminate the stretch for me with close grip handles. Very close to enough with the included single handle if you angle back a little, but not enough when sitting totally vertical. Too expensive. I can buy a seated leg extension/curl machine. a seated row machine, a Smith Machine with an upper and lower cable pulley attachment, a glute ham developer, and a belt squat machine from Temu for less than the price of the RX3000 Cable Tower, and I have.
Or modify my existing Uprights..
how would you compare this to a rack with a dialed motion cable setup?
Looks awesome! When is that is that CTM-1 Functional cable tower from Rogue coming?
@@MarkPMaguire great question. Hopefully soon. We'll definitely review it.
@GlucksGym when you say the Athena is a smoother system, are you referring to their trollies? If one were to replace the Athena trollies with the GetRxd tornado pivot arms, will that negate the smoothness of the Athena system?
Can you review more or Giant Fitness's equipment?
Was wondering about their Power Rack BD3X 3x3 with 1" hardware.
can you cover the revolt fitness cable attachment?
How does the FT of the rx3 system compare to Fringe or Vestas?
I wonder how does the upcoming BOS 3x3 single tower compares
Does this have the same issue as the BoS ones when using a single cable?
@@EdenHodgson which issue is that?
@@GlucksGym Cable twisting/tangling over time when only a single pulley is used
@@Alex-kb9rd Our cables are all routed straight up/down or straight forward/back, shouldn't have any issue with cable twisting/tangling.
Is the VTS review gonna make it in this year 😢
When you half listen and only catch the euphemisms 😅
Heard from someone at bells of steel that they are releasing a 3x3 cable tower with a set of attachments in first quarter next year. I wouldn’t buy this and just wait for theirs
looks like you cant add matt porters pull down attachment to the new kraken 3x3 because the pulleys are on top
We'll also have more attachments for our cable tower 3000 series coming out soon. Stay tuned : )
They've legit been saying soon for years lol
Functional trainer or a nice set of dumbbells?I have spin lock dumbbells right now.
if you live in the OC SD socal area I am thinking of selling my ironmaster quicklock dumbells with stand - and use that money to help with purchase a full rack / trainer like this or the tornado version.
@ probably already found you on Facebook marketplace.. what’s your offer? I found a set of 120’s with stand for 650 and a set of 125s includes the heavy handle and stand for $675. I live right by the rose bowl in Pasadena
@@wakawaka1976 i dont have them on marketplace yet - but those sound like a good deal especially for the 120 and stand. i only have the 75lb version with the stand - and I am all the way down here in san diego so even if I priced around 500-550 it wouldn't be worth the drive for you
@@SlickWillie did you just get sick of adjusting the weights all the time?
@@wakawaka1976 no - but thats because i only used these dumbells for certain exercises and only added a few plates at a time. i have a an old rep fitness pr 3000 setup with all the old attachments ( dip/landmine/ pully/safetty straps and all that)- so the dumbells were just there for random stuff. its quick to adjust and I will say that these are by far the best adjustable dumbells out there in my opinion. they feel like regular old dumbells lol. if your interested in the ironmaster and old rack of mine with the attachments let me know - prolly cut you a sweet deal
It looks like GetRx has a plate loaded option similar to BoS (cost is $444). If ceiling height is not a concern, would you choose this one?
Plate Loaded and Weight Stack options are both on our website now!
Why am I the only one who wants this to be taller?
The highest trolley point is 78" - should be good height for lat pulls for most people
@@GetRxd I'm an inch taller than Gluck and I have a tall torso. I guess I'm not most people? This would more than likely eliminate the stretch for me with close grip handles. Also if I can't use it for single arm pulldowns it eliminates one of the main reasons I would purchase the piece. It's a no go for me!
@@williamwallace2809 One of our engineers is 6'1" and we had him try with lat pulldown bar, chinning triangle for close grip lat pulldowns, and with single arm using the default handles it comes with. It was enough ROM for the lat pulldown bar and chinning triangle for sure. Very close to enough with the included single handle if you angle back a little, but not enough when sitting totally vertical. We had the lat pull seat at the lowest position and rather than using 2 links of carabiners as seen in gluck's video, you can do with just 1 carabiner link instead. Email us if you'd like to see the video!
11:15 hahaha
Algo.
Lat pull down while shoulders hiked up like earrings. 😆 I am watching with no sound. Can’t wake up the baby. And the cc isn’t working on my phone. Maybe you made a joke about it? If not, lighten the load, dude.
i'm always a fan of a nice rack
I thought bells uses 12 gauge, not 14.
Their listing says 14
@GlucksGym yeah, I saw that but your review says 12 and it's the same as their light commercial which is 12. I'm pretty sure that's a typo on their website. Could you confirm?
@@GlucksGym btw, you nailed it in comparing this to the bells towers. I have dual plate loaded bells towers and I'm looking to upgrade to something with a stack. This was on my radar for that very reason. Great job.
I've had my dual BoS cable towers since last year and I'm pretty sure they used to say they were 12 gauge steel back then in their website, maybe they moved to 14 gauge since then.
Mine (which is older) is 12 gauge. I verified with calipers. I won't assume it's a typo I've seen companies swap gauges before and I actually appreciate the honesty if that's the case. I will reach out to the owner of Bells. If it's a typo, they'll update the listing.
Yet another reason to not shop at Walmart.
Too expensive. I can buy a seated leg extension/curl machine. a seated row machine, a Smith Machine with an upper and lower cable pulley attachment, a glute ham developer, and a belt squat machine from Temu for less than the price of the RX3000 Cable Tower, and I have. Exercise equipment is getting ridiculously expensive. For instance, Rogue Fitness actually is selling an overbuilt power rack for sale for $9,995. You can pay much more for exercise equipment, but why would you want to when you can buy 5 exercise machines for the price of the one shown in the video?
11:20 💀💀
but surely all carbon steel is equal since it's 11 gauge- no way China would skimp on quality
Hmmmm... Nice rack 😅
IM GOD! #1
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
