Regency Murder Trial: Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch found not guilty

- Gerry Hutch has been found not guilty of the murder of David Byrne.
The prosecution had claimed that he was one of two gunmen who shot the Kinahan associate at a boxing event at the Regency Hotel in Dublin in February 2016.
The case against Mr Hutch boiled down to whether the judges believed the testimony of State-turned witness Jonathan Dowdall.
In the end, the judges were not convinced by Dowdall's testimony and could find nothing in the case to support his allegation that Mr Hutch was one of the hitmen.
Two others were convicted for their roles in helping with the getaway.

Justice. You couldn't believe a word out of Dowdall's mouth.
The fact that the states case rested on testimony from that clown was crazy.

They charged him of the murder prior to Dowdall turning.
That's the craziest thing about all of this. You have to wonder what kind of muppet signed off on proceeding with a murder charge on such flimsy evidence.
That doesnt make the monk an innocent man. Dowdall wasnt to be trusted but the monk is Irelands most well known gangster so id hardly call this justice.
So what really came out of this? You can’t trust the Shinners. Even the Monk can’t trust the Shinners.

How the DPP and the Gardai went to trial with this shows their incompetence they were pushed by the AG I reckon and government ,using dowdall was a big indicator for me of government influence
An absolute scandal.
This was not a bad strategic decision, it was an attempted miscarriage of justice.
Charges should ensue against those who are responsible.
Shocked the case was sent forward on Dowdalls word with no other evidence it seems.
100% . The case had more holes than a sieve. How it even got off to a start in the first place.

Apparently former President Trump is asking for the names of Gerry Hutch’s legal defence Team.
The state prosecutors need to be assessed. Don’t want to see anyone going to jail on false fake evidence
