It's so nice when somebody who's is close to a project like to simplify X for instance can play and demo the gear like Danielle can. It helps my ears focus on the actual sound without any distractions around me like not so good guitar playing? Daniel Schwartz your guitar playing is beautiful. I'm going to demo one of these the first chance I get, they sound really amazing in this video.
I sold all my electric guitar gear a few years ago after being burnt out from playing too many Sunday services per month. This unit has me wanting to get back into it again. That is saying something.
I bought the simplifier x ten days ago and had my first gig with it going straight into the PA last Friday evening. Setting up the tone from the two channels is much easier than the number of knobs and switches could let you guess. The sound quality is amazing and the dynamic response is absolutely perfect. The only thing that could be improved is the reverb. It's too big and takes away your attack and presence; the effect quality is good, but no matter how you set the known it will always be too much or nothing. It's good if you play surf or ambient music, but if you play rock and blues like I do, you better use a good reverb pedal through the effects loop. Apart from the reverb (but it's a matter of personal taste) everything in this device is excellent, definitely the best I ever played (20+ years of Marshall stacks, boutique combos and many tube preamps from the early Marshall jmp1,ADA, AMT SS11, etc). Well done, DSM Humboldt! 🎉
Another engineering masterpiece! I’m a very happy user of the mkii, I use it live all the time. But the ability to run two amps together is too tempting!
I love my Simplifier Dlx! I can't quite decide if this upgrade makes sense for me, but I dig the new layout. I currently run the DLX as a mono two-channel amp into a stereo fx loop + stereo cab sims, so I don't gain anything in functionality there. The Aux routing is the most tempting new feature, since I could output a drum machine into the stereo XLR path without putting it in the FX loop+cab sim path. Hmm...
Bacan ver a Daniel en el exito, lo conocia desde el foro de plexilandia como el usuario j201 y siempre aportaba caleta, sobretodo en la emulacion de mesa boogie. Felicidades crack 🍻🍺🍻🍺
Great presentation. I just ordered an X after a lot of research! Do you have any plans for an upgrade of the bass version? (eg with a quality compressor instead of a reverb). Cheers
I have both the Simplifier MK2 and the Bass Station and love them both. Great tone on both. My only complaint with the MK2 is that there is no option to blend the effects return with the main signal. I am looking forward to an updated Bass Station that has a selection of amps and cabinets like the MK2 does; this would be more useful, imho, than the mic placement controls. Despite this niggles, the Simplifiers have outstanding tone and you can feel the all-analog circuitry, which plays well, for example, with analog fuzz pedals to push the Simplifiers' transistors.
I got the simplifier and I love the amps and the tone and how well it's built. The only thing I don't like is the built in reverb. I might be nitpicking, but I found it muddy and not sitting well in a mix. I use the fx loop to add external reverb instead. I'd be more than happy if this box stuck to just the amps and without adding any other effects.
The final evolution of the Simplifier is one that allows you to run Wet/Dry/Wet with only a single pedal, currently im using mk2 for setting the dry tone and then running it in parallel with a simplifier mk 1 for full wet stereo. Love your products.
Excelentes productos, felicitaciones. Ah, tengo ese mismo Turbo Overdrive de arriba a la izquierda, desde inicios de los 90’s. Junto con un flanger económico fueron mis únicos pedales en todas las tocatas de esos años.
Please make one with a Marshall Super Bass on one side and a Diezel Vh4 on the other with Mesa cabs ;) Amazing work fellas and really cool to see this coming out of Chile!
Amazing! As soon as it becomes available in Europe, I'll buy it! For the next upgrade, why not draw inspiration from the legendary Slo-100? 😍(even the clean tone of the Slo-100 is amazing, considering a pedalboard to connect). Or the Mesa Boogie Lonestar by Andy Timmons? Or even Guthrie Govan's Victory Amp?
Hey DSM, one thing you may want to do in such videos is explain why the Simplifier is preferable to other “amp in a box” offerings, such as the ReVolt, among others. It is always good to focus on your own product for the most part, but sometimes, explaining the differences is HIGHLY beneficial. I would like to know how the Simplifier replicates the interaction between the preamp and power amp sections, and how that differs from other offerings by different manufactures. You often speak of the Simplifier being a “zero watt amp”, explain that to the audience a bit more, so we know for sure why it is better. Just a thought…
You're right, but we've left that perspective to UA-camrs (Those videos will come, for sure). We only focus on our products when presenting them, but we're very conscious of what sets our products apart. One key point is that we pay special attention to the power amp simulation, while competitors often go straight from preamp modeling to IRs or cabs, bypassing one of the most important parts of this equation: the power amp behavior.
@@dsmhumboldt When I finally get one, maybe I’ll take the dive and UA-cam about it. I am dead set on getting a Simplifier X ASAP, I truly think “This is the way”.
Hi DSM guys! I have the dlx version and i see that it has pretty much the same set of options and switches. i use the dlx as a full parallel stereo pair with a loop. i want to know if the x will improve the sound of my pedal chain? i think many people would like to see a comparison of the dlx and x with the same option values in each usage pattern. This would allow us to remove many questions.
I have stereo time based effects, but hoped to use mode 2 to switch between lead and normal amp settings. Assuming I can dial the cab sim settings to work with both amp channels, will my time effects will work in stereo? (With one channel always using the A speaker settings and one always using B, regardless of amp selected?)
Any consideration of making a product that combines the MKii and Bass Station? That way, a guitar player and bass player can jam together? Excellent work! Love this idea
i've tried so many multi effectors and amp sim pedals to get this "analog" amp tones. from boss gt-1000core, hotone ampero II, strymon iridium, quad cortex, uafx dream65, uafx ruby and revivaldrive compact + uafx ox stomp now. trust me, you cannot get this "natural real amp tone" from any of the listed devices at all. i played once a week with real amp (VOX and Laney) so it keeps me reminding the real amp tone regularly. let's see if my simplifier x shows me same tone of this demo. maybe it will take two weeks from now. i'll leave a comment here.
Love it. The question is, do I buy now, or wait for their X MkII Extra Whizzy model in a few weeks' time? (Joking.....) 😉 When are they due in the UK please?
Hahaha! The first units should be hitting the UK next week. We don't update our products very often. If people consider the Simplifier X as the natural replacement for the DLX (which it is not), they might want to consider that there have been three years since its launch. This unit also is not a replacement for the MK-II, since the X takes its concept from the MK-II but it's full stereo, an entirely different approach. We haven't discontinued any of the products we've released; in fact, we are still producing the Simplifier Classic, which turns 5 this year!
There are many dealers in the USA where you can purchase it right now: Sweetwater, Chicago Music Exchange, Zzounds, among many others. Please see the list here: www.simplifieramp.com/where-to-buy-1
To me sounds a bit strange that you've put the loop between the power amp sim and the cab sim instead of putting the loop between the preamp and the power amp like the real amp heads. With the loop between the preamp and the power amp the possibilities of putting the Simplifier in the chain are many many more (i.e.: using the Simplifier pre with real power amp and cabs... or using a different preamp with the Simplifier power amp and cab sim section.... or both those solutions in a full parallel configuration)
I turned it off cause I'd rather wait for a proper demo by some that knows how to present a UA-cam video. A press release showing features and a few pics would have been much much better.
Unfortunately, we do not include a power supply. It draws a very small amount of current (around 150 mA), so any good pedalboard power supply will work perfectly

No será posible ya que su chasis se fábrica con aluminio anodizado (color blanco no disponible).
