After crashing on a friend's couch in NJ, we eventually got standby business class flights to Naples, Italy where we spent a very unexpected weekend with some great friends @heathandalyssa :) Then we continued the longest travel day ever to Tel Aviv, but Nate's bag didn't make it. With a head cold and no stuff, it was not the best way to start our trip. But it was definitely memorable!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! However, I do you believe you two are the perfect partners, since you bring out the best in each other. I have honestly never encountered a more positive person than Kara. On our trip to Europe his bag didn’t get to our destination and I was a mess, while he stayed completely calm and even calmed me down. Men are amazing at that!! I work at the airport in Rio and I have to say I was surprised this issue with the bag missing had never happened to you guys before with the amount you travel. It’s mind boggling, really. I don’t know if this shads any light, but what probably happened was somebody took it mistakenly as theirs and, as they realized it wasn’t, they gave it back to the airline in exchange for their actual bag. It happens a lot, and people mistake bags that are nothing alike theirs, or maybe it’s just a similar color. From the amount of times I’ve seen this happen, little were the times it was the same actual bag with maybe a different lock or little tag. But I’m very glad it was resolved in like 48hrs.
Been checking and rechecking and rechecking...and finally - YAY! Here you are! Great story, great outcome, great character. Can't wait to see the rest of your videos from this amazing country! I had the opportunity to visit with my parents when was just 12 years old, and have never forgotten the experience.

I traveled off and on from 1987 to 2001. On my first flight of my first trip from the States to Paris at the beginning of an 18 month trip around the world, my backpack went missing. I spent 3 days in Paris with only the clothes on my back and the contents of my day pack. It turned out that my pack hadn't been taken off the plane and continued on to Pakistan. I got it back but I definitely know what Nate was going through. Great video (as usual) and I'm glad it all worked out.
