I’m actually OK with giving critical feedback on things that cost money. People pay a lot of money in a lot of different ways to be in those lounges. I would have expected to be eating on real plates to. 👍🏾 Also agree about the wifi being free for business and first class. For kind of the same reasons as the lounges.
I agree--and their "criticism" is much different from other travel content creators. Others honestly do come across as spoiled but theirs does not. One creator who makes loootttssss of IG videos in a row once pointed out how disappointed/annoyed he was that he had to walk outside to get onto his plane. I commented that I'd love to trade places with him. I've also never had any food or drink in biz class that I would say wasn't good enough. As long as something doesn't taste bad or hasn't gone bad, I'm happy.
Kara felt the need to defend her critiquing as not being snobbish, but it’s completely unnecessary. Anyone who’s ever watched their channel knows she’s the sweetest and most down to earth person ever. It’s part of her job to give an honest critique of the services they receive.
Agreed. I don’t think you can truly rate the Virgin Atlantic experience without using the dedicated entrance/security line and Clubhouse at LHR. Otherwise you’re rating a Delta airport experience along with a VA Upper Class flight.
I just did that two weeks ago when I changed my fright from BA. I have flown many times on Virgin. The new seats on the A350 are a pleasant change. The flight doesnt blow me away. But leaving LHR is good with the clubhouse and the security checkin.
Virgin Atlantic is the best business class I’ve ever flown. The arrival lounge is great to wait in until check in time, the fact that you can shower after a long flight is amazing. The staff always is so nice and I love their seats. I think they are very comfortable. They used to have free wi-fi in business class but now for some reason they don’t offer it anymore. They also used to have a tea cart, the British style and before landing they would serve you tea, scones and sandwiches and it was the best experience ever. I hope they are going to bring it back.
My daughters grade 4 teacher used to be an airline attendant and she is absolutely incredible as a teacher I think because she’s so used to adults acting like children 😂
I just came back from this same exact flight yesterday - LHR to ATL THEN ATL to LHR in Upper Class! This is crazy that this just ended up on my feed. I had the same problem as Kara with the luggage and the ground staff. The Delta clubhouse when I went had a popcorn machine, guess it wasn't out when y'all visited. The LHR Virgin Clubhouse is *amazing* - no plastic, you order at your seat, they bring you anything and everything and it's absolutely beautiful. If you go to LHR please take a taxi to the *private* entrance (which has a separate security line!) - there aren't many videos on this and you can't film inside. I didn't eat anything on my flight but the flight attendants were ultra nice, and I loved the amenities kit and free pajamas (night flight). The newer Virgin suites close entirely so they're like little boxes (maybe like the ANA ones). I loved the Virgin seats - they do really feel private even thought they don't close entirely. I agree with Nate about the lighting - it changed as we woke up on my night flight which was comforting and relaxing. I even wrote that in the feedback form they sent me.
Hi Kara and Nate. I work as cabin crew for Virgin. I’m glad you had a nice flight and thought the crew were lovely. I also agree with you in regards to the WiFi. It should be free.
Of all the European and North American based airlines, Virgin as the best, hands down. I flew them a lot, once upon a time. If you flying form the UK, a chaffeaur with pick you up from home, put you check in the boot (trunk) and you won't see it again until you get ot your destination. The Club house is on another level for lounges. They also used to also offer Inflight Spa treatments. Not sure if they still do that or not. If the in the other direction across Europe to Asian destinations, I'd fly them all the time. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing.
The Clubhouse removed the Aveda hair wash area - one of the workers told me that loads of people booked it but weren't able to get to their appointments. They ended up replacing them with pelatons.
Love the hand sanitizer & jetlag part at the end ❤relatable haha 😊 BTW my 70 year old dad did ragbrai by himself after I showed him your video of it ! Shout out to Ray & thanks for the inspo!
It is a shame you did not review the arrival lounge, it really is superb. Hopefully you can fly on Virgin Atlantic out of Heathrow and experience the amazing lounge and the incredible private check in for Upper Class. Regarding the food, in my experience Virgin Atlantic rates amongst the highest quality in the sky, only surpassed by the incredible Asiana airlines cuisine (p.s. I am vegetarian and always pre-order my meals). Thanks for the video, you brought back memories of one of my favourite airlines. Sadly they no longer fly to Australia anymore. P.S. you forgot to review the onboard bar - it is really great. I have sat there to take my meals.
Since not all airlines have an arrival lounge, maybe make that a bonus category for extra points? Virgin looks awesome. My only critique from watching this is the mood lighting in the cabin. That seems like it would be hard on your eyes after a while... like looking through red ski goggles.
The lighting changes throughout the flight depending on whether it's a day or night flight! Kind of like one of those sun alarm clock things. The pink lighting I noticed was only when you get on the plane.
Awesome job as always Kara and Nate! I definitely think that next time you should try VS departing from LHR as that gives you not only access to Heathrow's swanky Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse (with its rooftop garden) but also the Upper Class Wing private check-in facility if you arrive into Heathrow by car (bypasses the main terminal for check-in and security). Also I learned that booking VS via Flying Blue miles cuts down on the taxes and fees that Virgin charges compared to Flying Club points
Love love love when Kara was rating the entertainment on board and when she zoomed in on the map it was Newfoundland!!! Yay!! Definitely a must do province for you all to do says your Newfie follower!! Lots of beautiful scenery, great people and the most amazing adventures to go on!!!
I love Virgin Atlantic. Wanted to fly with them again, but they wanted 5k for business class, while Delta was prized at 3k. So I chose Delta and will be flying in a few weeks.
My sister had an ESTA issue flying from Heathrow to Tampa with Delta, to the point where she couldn't fly and because she booked the ticket through a travel agent, there were no changes allowed. She forfeited the ticket. She was going through some personal stuff so I said I'd use points and got her an Upper Class ticket with AMEX > Virgin transfer (with a bonus!). I had flown the NEO in upper class and premium and it is an amazing product. She had never flown biz before. Unfortunately I didn't realise that they only operate the NEO on certain days of the week, so she got the old A330-300 product instead. She said it was really good, but man I wish she got to experience the NEO. Night and day difference.
I believe with so many products available and thousands of dollars on the table, critical reviews are totally appropriate. What's not okay is being rude to people, but little details are important for potential clients to know so thank you two!
I think more of a thing should be made of shoulder belts. They are a HUGE step up in safety and the only reason they aren’t across the board is cost. They’re so unlikely to be used, apart from turbulence, the additional cost of installation and maintenance isn’t worth it.
You should allow arrivals lounges to be rated on a 1/5 scale and consider them bonus points, i also think you could do the same if they have a dedicated terminal for first class like Lufthansa, or some middle eastern airlines because sometimes things are worth more than the scale allows for if its really above and beyond.
I have a set of the Virgin Salt & Pepper shakers because they were so cute! The Flight Attendant pointed out the message on the bottom when I mentioned I would love to have a set. 😂😊
It would be AMAZING if you showed the scores of all the flights so far next to each other at the end. Plus people will wanna go back and watch those videos to see why they scored so high or low. ❤
Virgin Atlantic was the very first airline that I ever flew (back in 2004). I remember sitting on the flight so excited to go to the UK and just taking in the music (dido) and just loving the lighting. I still come across some things that I kept from the amenities bags they hand out in economy. If I ever go and have the option to take them again, hands down, every time, I will. They are my favorite.
I did this exact journey coming home after Christmas - I was just in that lounge! For what it's worth, the Clubhouses are VERY nice. The Heathrow one is excellent (and NO plastic cutlery or paper plates and very, very free-flowing champagne).
Wow you have current low standards... Nah used to be chauffeured to and from. Curb side check in. Now it's just like taking a ferry to Ireland. Plastic seats with piss and vomit rolling around across the floor. With the flight attendant telling you to pick up your feet between rolls... You clearly have very substandard ideas of what travelling first class should be...
As an absolute virgin Atlantic fanatic you HAVE to fly out of Heathrow to experience the private road/entrance and the escort service. Also the clubhouse, Nate you would love the aesthetic and lighting in there. It is one of my favourite places on earth. 😂 ( if you are there you HAVE to check out the viewing terrace in the lounge not as good as the delta one but still up there) when I saw it for the first time my mind was 🤯. Also love the vid and you were on the best plane the A350❤
After watching a lot of TrekTrendy lately, I can say you were a bit generous in this video 😁 I mean for 13k, Emirates, Qatar, Singapore to name a few, beat VirginAtlantic by a mile
I love these videos! Gives people a view into a world that most people will not be a part of! And no, I don't think you guys are being elitist/tone-deaf/etc by doing this! Clearly you two are still grounded and appreciate the common man! Also I understand Kara's concern about the luggage, people want their personal property to be valued by others, no matter who they are!
The ground experience flying from London is over the top. Hopefully you’ll get to try it and can rate it even higher. Will gladly take Virgin anytime in Upper Class.
Fly from Heathrow next time and you get private check in which you can drive up to - it’s awesome and the clubhouse is also insane. You get a free massage or haircut before take off.
I've flown Virgin Atlantic twice. SFO to LAX and LAX to BOS. It was in economy class...and I have to mention, they had just entered the US market maybe 6 months before my flights. They were beyond bad on both. Entertainment didn't work on either flight. On the LAX to BOS flight, the food options were not good and expensive. and the seats...this to me is the worst....were covered in this hard white plastic (just like your business class seating area). So someone who's 6 ft with long legs had to jam their knees up against this hard plastic. No doubt my experience would have been better in a different class, but that wasn't an option. I should have flown JetBlue direct from SFO to BOS. Love that Delta lounge!! Of course it's the best, ATL is their headquarters. As for the arrivals lounge? That IS cool and could be a game changer on these long haul flights!! When I got to Shannon, Ireland back in 2008 from Dallas....10+ hours of flying....I was BURNT. Luckily there was a car waiting and I got to sleep for the 3 hour drive to Cork.
💕~Kara & Nate~💕 Aww I love 🫶 you guys so much! Me and my fiancé found you guys about a week ago and we’ve been binge watching you ever since! We both said that you guys look so happy and so in love! I’m just a small town girl from GA and have only been to like 9-10 states and live vicariously thru y’all!! My fiancé has been all over the world as well. I can’t wait to travel more and hopefully I can this year! But I just wanted to say it’s so awesome watching your channel, and how you two just make my day. The whale videos are my absolute favorite and I cried so hard watching them. There needs to be so much more awareness for them! Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives! Kara you are so beautiful too and y’all make me laugh so hard! I hope you have a Happy New Year and we can’t wait to follow along your journeys you go on! ❤❤
Great review, I am travelling from Manchester to Orlando upper class next year and will be doing a vlog. I agree that you should not have to pay for WiFi if upper x
Loved the video, and Kara's accent (I'm a Brit). What I would say is that comparing Virgin Upper Class to other business class may not be a direct comparison. Virgin does not have first class, so this is the "best" cabin they have. I would suggest it sits somewhere between business and first, especially if you get the new cabin.
That is one of the best delta lounges. The only other one in its realm that I have been in is Seattle. The view of the mountain there is amazing (when it isn’t cloudy).
Again awesome vid!! Small thingy, the audio is about 20% left of center. I dont see others mentioning it, so im probably nitpicking. But other then that, LUv it as always!
*@Daily Drop* You still made out on the ticket prices. 💯 I have a flight leaving this Friday on Qatar Airways (business class) to SE Asia for 60 days. Two tickets cost me $15,500. 😛I will use my Venture X miles for my next trip. 😉
I have flown Virgin Upper Class twice. Not my favorite. They lower the amount of oxygen into the cabin to the post that I get nauseous and have a headache every time. This has been confirmed by crew members as the cause. Glad you enjoyed it though.
I hope you get to try Zurich airport's business lounge. Also outside deck with great views of runway but with the beautiful Swiss mountains as a backdrop. Spent 5 hours there last year. Loved it. Great video.
You should definitely keep a live tracking of all the ratings and update it at the end of each video. Nice to hear 86, but super hard to compare the results to other airlines so doesn't carry as much meaning
Could you do some reviews of premium economy as well? I'm always curious to see if that is worth it and which airline has the best. I did it on Swiss only so far and it was 100% worth it.
I was booked on Virgin Upper Class LAX to LHR in April 2020…and of course that didn’t happen because the world shutdown. I haven’t had another opportunity yet…as either Delta or BA offered better flight times/connections/prices to my destinations since….but I really want to give them a try. Next trip is to Singapore though, and I’m flying Singapore Air for the first time…excited for that as I hear good things.
Hello guys, hey just wanted to say you guys walked right by me at Times Square NY just the other day, i believe 4 to 5 days ago, you both looked at me as you walked by, your wife had a long brown bubble coat
I think you guys were generous… first class check in should be flawless.also I’ve been to that Delta lounge @ ATL many times & no way it compares w Emirates or Japan…the seats & beds on looked small. Amenity kit nothing special bathroom nothing special …. Food did look good! for the amount you paid it was a great deal for a full price ticket no way.
I’m shocked to find that you haven’t flown upper class with Virgin before! We travel to the UK from LAX 3~4 times a year. Always upper class. You missed a few of THE most important things! LAX to LHR, ask for the pajamas! And, when you board at LHR (Virgin hub) you are treated to Virgins private TSA! Then, the most amazing clubhouse EVER! Please try it!
Years ago I flew Virgin Atlantic from NY to London in economy.Throughout the flight, we were warned every few minutes that if we moved to one of the economy seats with a surcharge we'd have to pay it, even though the flight had already departed, not one of those seats had been taken and the rest of us were crammed tightly into the "free" seats. It was difficult to read or sleep because of the constant threats over the loudspeaker all the way across the ocean. I haven't flown Virgin since then and I'll bet most of the other passengers had the same reaction. Virgin really shot itself in the foot with that policy.
I fly with them regularly. There was a fairly empty flight the first time I flew and there was an announcement stating “once we’re in the air feel free to move to any of the open seats and spread out and get comfy”. So needless to say I think the policy has very much changed.
Most business class beds, even flat ones, have a slight incline. This is because not only does it reduce the space needed for the seat, but the nose of the aircraft faces slightly up when at cruising altitude. The incline is to compensate for that and help passengers feel like they’re laying flat.

I flew on Virgin Atlantic in the Christmas Holidays and really enjoyed the safety video and the video showing where they fly to
Great review, I am travelling from Manchester to Orlando upper class next year and will be doing a vlog. I agree that you should not have to pay for WiFi if upper x
Just love Kara’s British accent 😂
Thanks for all the great videos guys 🤗
Loved the video, and Kara's accent (I'm a Brit). What I would say is that comparing Virgin Upper Class to other business class may not be a direct comparison. Virgin does not have first class, so this is the "best" cabin they have. I would suggest it sits somewhere between business and first, especially if you get the new cabin.
That is one of the best delta lounges. The only other one in its realm that I have been in is Seattle. The view of the mountain there is amazing (when it isn’t cloudy).
I remember telling you guys about Upper Class 🙂 I have still got my salt and pepper shakers. 😂. Glad you enjoyed it.
Again awesome vid!! Small thingy, the audio is about 20% left of center. I dont see others mentioning it, so im probably nitpicking. But other then that, LUv it as always!
Nate’s side eye when Kara offered to swap desserts! 😂
😂
Aww this is the type of content I miss on the main channel
Just flew on their 787 from CDG to DEL with a connection thru London for 47500 pts and $350
👏👏👏
i love #brutalKara and her savage reviews .. MORE PLEASE .. The mustache might needs its own plane ticket .. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
*@Daily Drop* You still made out on the ticket prices. 💯 I have a flight leaving this Friday on Qatar Airways (business class) to SE Asia for 60 days. Two tickets cost me $15,500. 😛I will use my Venture X miles for my next trip. 😉
here watching this video bc i miss the weekly videos so i needed a few mins of something new 😂
12:28 Kara goes “more like the survival lounge” 😂
Common..... Im driving Prius and im loving it. Fuel efficient and reliable. So please stop right there :))
when you got to the hotel room I've never seen Kara so tired...WOW Great video
Long travel days can take it out of you! Thanks for watching 😀
@@DailyDrop I truly understand
I have flown Virgin Upper Class twice. Not my favorite. They lower the amount of oxygen into the cabin to the post that I get nauseous and have a headache every time. This has been confirmed by crew members as the cause. Glad you enjoyed it though.
I hope you get to try Zurich airport's business lounge. Also outside deck with great views of runway but with the beautiful Swiss mountains as a backdrop. Spent 5 hours there last year. Loved it. Great video.
I've seen videos of the upper class wing in London Heathrow, I think you need to try that for check in and lounge. It looks next level
The arrival lounge should be bonus points. 😊
Yeah when I fly Porter, which is a budget airline in Canada everyone gets free WiFi. Which I love
You should definitely keep a live tracking of all the ratings and update it at the end of each video. Nice to hear 86, but super hard to compare the results to other airlines so doesn't carry as much meaning
Love it!!! Now Take Y'all's Break!!!!! ❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️ This is officially the first 2 Vids!!!!😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Virgin is the best airline in the Western hemisphere
i appreicate the critial feedback and review rather than everything is really good.
Another great video, would love to travel in style 😎 I keep hope on each new video Nate finally shaves off his moustache 🤣
I like you guys! Thank you for sharing this amazing trip and video! Cheers ❤❤😅😅
Hello guys, hey just wanted to say you guys walked right by me at Times Square NY just the other day, i believe 4 to 5 days ago, you both looked at me as you walked by, your wife had a long brown bubble coat
Spicy Kara is awesome!!!!!! lol ~~You deduct those points baby!!!
Love the video
I've just watched your Residence video, and I have to admit, you look like you are slumming it..🤣💜
I also noticed the zoom in on Newfoundland. If you're coming this way, happy to help with ideas. I live on the west coast of NL
Did you guys get pyjamas? Normally they give pyjamas on overnight flights in Virgin Upper.
I love Kara’s sweater flip 😅❤
I’m shocked to find that you haven’t flown upper class with Virgin before! We travel to the UK from LAX 3~4 times a year. Always upper class. You missed a few of THE most important things! LAX to LHR, ask for the pajamas! And, when you board at LHR (Virgin hub) you are treated to Virgins private TSA! Then, the most amazing clubhouse EVER! Please try it!
We flew business New Zealand Air and hated the herringbone configuration. But the bed was more come than Delta one.
I want those salt and pepper shakers…..too cute!
I know, right?! So cute!
You can have contest for amenities don't want or press airlines for donations bins as i heard they also throw away even bags passengers dont want
O…M…G I need those salt & pepper shakers! ❤
“Where else can you get a glass of champagne and a view of the runway?” You NEED to go to the Swiss Airlines lounge in Zurich airport!
Yes! Thank u guys we love u 😘👍🏻😎🌞🌺🍀
Most business class beds, even flat ones, have a slight incline. This is because not only does it reduce the space needed for the seat, but the nose of the aircraft faces slightly up when at cruising altitude. The incline is to compensate for that and help passengers feel like they’re laying flat.
Fascinating!
Love Kara and Nate
the Air New Zealand dig is SO funny hahahahahaha
The ATL international sky club is probably the best in the country!
