Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
The locals seem so warm, lovely and welcoming.
We are :)

Tourists often fall on their faces, missing the good stuff, and unfortunately get a bad experience and a bad opinion on places they go to.
As a Israeli, I think you actually did it good, and I'm greatful for you guys, showing the good sides of my beloved country.
God bless you!
@Diana Shahrour don't tell him what he is lol
🇮🇱 ❤️
True, but there's a difference between being a tourist and being a traveler. I think Kara and Nate fall into the latter category.
.
We must visit Israel 🇮🇱
Im so glad and feel blessed that I've gotten to see this city through your eyes. So many beliefs and cultures. But the food... oh oh oh. Travel on and I'll continue, through your eyes. Hugs from Canada
7:15 I know that song being played in the background!!! It brings back amazing memories from my time as a volunteer in Jerusalem
I'm Israeli and I honestly appreciated the effort you put into your visit in israel , you can visit again anytime!
BTW Don't mind the negative comments, you did a great job.

I've seen how they glaze them- they take a metal dustpan, fill it with sugar, melt it over a flame, and brush it on to the rugelach.

Wow it looks worth going to Jerusalem just for the food!
when I visited Israel in 2014 we had lunch in a winery overlooking vineyards and were served the best hummus ever. although I think anywhere you eat hummus in Israel, it is the best ever. Have not had anything close to its perfection since I have been back home. thanks Kara and Nate for bringing back all the great food memories from my time there!
What was the winery?? Would love to visit
It's Palestine not israel

Kara and Nate!! I love watching your videos and I’m so happy you finally went to Israel! Jachnun bar is my absolute fave place in the shuk!
the food looks amazing
I visited Israel in April 2016 for two weeks and I don't think I've ever felt more alive. The whole country is flowing with beautifully chaotic culture and energy. Watching this makes me want to go back.
Hahahahahaha Nate just cracked us up! One of my favorite things from all your videos is your guy's respectful attempts to pronounce words in different languages! But Nate's attempt was hilarious! 👏👏 at Kara for flipping that pan bread! Great video to start my holiday weekend!
15:02 "Beitar" is: Beitar Jerusalem Football Club, by saying "yaala beitar" you cheer the team.
Israel is the best!! 🤗🤗🤗 All my favorite places in Jerusalem ❤️

There is an Israel and it came back as a nation in 1948 🇮🇱 🇮🇱🇮🇱 The nation of Israel began in the ancient times and return as a nation in 1948 🙌🏻 There is no such thing as a “Palestine” nation and the “Palestinian” people are actually primarily Jordanian. Romans created the name “Palestine” but Jews were the ones living there even when it was occupied by the Romans. As stated by a Palestinian historian, “ Before the Balfour Promise, when the Ottoman rule [1517-1917] ended, Palestine’s political borders as we know them today did not exist, and there was nothing called a Palestinian people with a political identity as we know today”, historian Abd Al-Ghani admitted on official PA TV on November 1.
“Since Palestine’s lines of administrative division stretched from east to west and included Jordan and southern Lebanon, and like all peoples of the region [the Palestinians] were liberated from the Turkish rule and immediately moved to colonial rule, without forming a Palestinian people’s political identity.”
In 1917, says this Arab historian on official PA TV, there was no such thing as a Palestinian people. This statement amounts to saying that the whole narrative of an ‘indigenous Palestinian people’ was made up at a later point in time.
As Hamas Minister of the Interior and of National Security Fathi Hammad speaking on Al-Hekma TV said in March 2012: “Brothers, half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis. Who are the Palestinians? We have many families called Al-Masri, whose roots are Egyptian. Egyptian.
Like I said - Israel did not “occupy” anything as it is THEIR land to begin with including Judea Samaria (all of the West Bank) 👊🏾
This brings back so many memories of an amazing trip earlier this year
I have loved watching the two of you travel the world.
That shouting guy with trembling hands was awesome .. He knows how to be friend of everyone . ❤
wow. that hummus would keep me going all day!
I lived in Israel, about 20 mins south of Jerusalem for two years, and hope to move back.
Jachnun bar is probably my favorite food in the country.
Also, עראיס מחנה יהודה, probably transliterates to aris machane Yehuda is amazing.
The lasagna at the pasta bar in the central station is too.
In my opinion the best chummus ever is Chummus Ha’aretz in Kfar Etzion
I’m going to Israel next year! Thanks for the tips!!
There is no "israel", its occupied Palestine🇵🇸🌿.
I love how willing yall are to eat new foods
The mango lemon sauce is called Amba it's a delicacy in Israel
And it doesn't have cinnamon, but the most dominant flavor is Fenugreek: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenugreek
That's probably what you tasted.
There is no "israel", its occupied Palestine🇵🇸🌿.
It's called Israel and they went to the most holy of holies called Jerusalem where so many religious find peace and tranquility.
You can't help but smile all of the way through a Kara and Nate video.
Love you both, you two are so inspiring!! Thanks for sharing awesome content as always!!

Kara and Nate, I just came across your videos. I saw you were in Jerusalem so I clicked right away. I am a Christian so I wanted to see what you were doing. I am enjoying your videos. I will watch more...God Bless..

Looks good,I love food that is good to eat makes me happy,, but not to eat to much, there’s always another day ❤😊
You should dip the falafel in the hummus. That’s what I do whenever i eat falafel/ hummus.
I’m An Arab-Israeli I live in Nazareth
First, I greatly enjoy your videos!
Second, a few corrections
Sabich- You pronounce it Sabikh
Mahane Yehuda- Pronounced Makhne Yuda or Makhne Yeuda
Enjoy your trip!
Now I really want to go to Israel. Love you both x
There is no "israel" you ignorant people, its occupied Palestine🇵🇸🌿.
The food in Israel is AMAZING. I have family / friends living in several cities there and have been there many times myself. My personal favorites are street-side schawarma in Jerusalem and late night hummus w/grilled pita and lamb in Haifa. During one trip to Machaneh Yehuda (in Jerusalem), I found a sweets shop / bakery. They had THE best chocolate pastries, drizzled with honey...even the bees were enjoying it. The first time I went to Israel, I was 10 and we had falafel aish-tanor from a streetcart. It was falafel with all of the fixing AND fries wrapped in a giant lafa. I also think it's interesting that there are Kosher versions of American fast food, like McDonalds, Subway, and KFC.
people are so NICE and warm wow throughout the video I was smiling :)
Love u Israel my love to israel
I love Kunafeh!! I agree! One of the best desserts to have in the middle East
SHALOM from Israel :-)))
The guy in 11:38 screams "Yalla Beitar", which is the Motto of Beitar Jerusalem F.C. fans. Beitar Jerusalem is a well-known football club in Israel, and Btw, my favorite club too
יאללה ביתר
You know when you’ve been binge watching there videos to long when you recognize the white coffee cup with the cranberry 😂
Excellent! But now I want Israeli food at 8am and I live in Tucson, AZ😂
check out Zayna Mediterranean Restaurant
Abdullah Balsam ash thanks!
Great… Now I’m hungry. 😂❤
Can't wait to go to jerusalem one day now🙂
You guys make just wanna explore the whole world keep going 🙏🏼🥹
This is why these people are so healthy. I love the medicine people.
Suppeerr content! Grtz from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🇳🇱👍🏻👍🏻
Big love from United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪
Your new friend really does make nice music. And I can eat hummas with a spoon. So cheap and easy to make. A lady in the West Bank taught me how.
My mom was just there 2 weeks ago and there was an attack the day she left. I haven’t heard you talk about safety concerns. Also I think you are from my town - Hendersonville 💗
You are correct that about a week after they left Israel there were misses shutting on the south of the country for 2 days (south hence about 1.5 hours drive from Jerusalem). The main big city 'business as usual' although it is sad situation and we all Israelis support the south who take this situation too often in the last years.
I'm from Jerusalem, hoping to see you
Jerusalem looks amazing! Was this one of your fav food tours?! Looked like a lot of fun 😊
Kara, where did you get that adorable jumpsuit?!!!
When I lived in Jerusalem, the best hummus was from one of the venders in the Shuk MaHana Yehuda. I ate so much tahina and hummus living there, that I developed a life threatening allergy to sesame.
Tel Aviv by Omer Adam was playing in the background when they were getting the Veggie sandwich.
I love too Jerusalem Israel 💖💖💖
0:24 - loving that "please no comment jihad face".
After watching your last few videos with so much hummous I finally gave in to my craving tonight and had hummous,,, then watched this and realised it was nothing like ‘proper’ hummous!
The mango sauce on the sabich is called amba and is made with turmeric and fenugreek seeds. Many people try to avoid it since you will smell exactly like amba the next day. Sabich was brought to Israel by Jews from Iraq who ate it on the sabbath morning.
at 6:03 she shouts "does anyone want any pasta" in case you were wondering :)
Israel is my happy place.
The Famous Falafel guy is selling at a very decent price compared to other sellers .. will definitely visit one day !!
After seeing the cat in the bloops I finally realized what was missing in the Israel videos! All the cats!
Love this food video. Everything looks so great, and that's even after stuffing myself with a Thanksgiving meal.
Lol 😂😂
I'll admit. I'm not an adventurous eater. If someone put down a plate of chicken gizzards in front of me, I would eat around it. Hearing you describe the textures of that dish @ 4:55 is enough to make me queasy. I choose to focus on those french fries. They look delicious. 🍟
you two are great, thanks for sharing!
You went to the west of the Old City not the east as you said in the video.
Watching this hungry at 3am is a torture 🙈😤😜🤣👍
