I came to beautiful Norway from Liverpool for a few weeks in 1975 and fell in love with the country and never went back. The statues are beautiful I think - I am an Oslo guide and I love taking people there. The whole concept of the park is «the circle of life», Vigeland was really good at showing humanity in all its aspects - from lust to grief, anger. Friendship, family, loneliness etc. It is amazing how detailed his carvings were, you can really see the emotions in the statues’ faces. Many of the statues are more symbolic than anything - Vigeland refused to say what exactly he meant to portray because he wanted people to interpret. But some of them are sort of obvious I think - the man “kicking” his children, that one I believe is about being overwhelmed by parenthood. The angry kid is really just an angry kid, with an expression very many parents recognize and that’s what makes it so popular I think.
You guys are a lovely couple. Thanks for doing a video from my hometown! It's interesting seeing your own "backyard" through the eyes of someone else who sees it for the first time.

Or you could maybe post more videos because I am obsessed with your channel and would like to see a video every day. Thank You So Much -Ethan ZB
I have always wanted to go to Norway! I love you guys for giving me more of a reason to go! Also the coldest water I have been in was in Wyoming in the Snake River where is was 55 degrees Fahrenheit!
This is a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Neophema Same in Australia!! The airport train is actually almost 4 times more expensive than the normal train! But it is in the only train you can get out of the airport! So ridiculous!
Especially since if you take the regular train, you can use that ticket to go anywhere in the city with all the busses, trams, subways and even the ferry boats. Flytoget is a horrible deal and was built on an exclusivity deal to use a specific faster track that fell through really quickly (so the regular train also uses the same track), so it's reason to even exist was gone a very short time after it was built, why the government keeps subsidizing it and lets it live is totally lost to me.
Spent almost two weeks in Norway on a college choir tour in 1981 and absolutely LOVED it! My bucket list for retirement includes taking my wife there. I especially remember the Vigeland scupture garden and travelling overland from Oslo to come out at the head of the Hardanger Fjord. The people were also wonderful and it didn't hurt that even 40 years ago many spoke English - not that there's any reason they SHOULD, but it made visiting there a little easier.
I have been watching your Vloggs from the start and am almost caught up. I just finished watching the Oslo Vloggs and was laughing right along with you each time you told the story about thinking a guy was robbing Nate’s backpack on the plane! Moments like that revisit me in the most mundane and unrelated places. A memory like that will pop into my brain and I will end up laughing hysterically in front of strangers and they have no idea what is so funny!
Please come to Australia!!!! There are so many places to visit and so many activities to do! Walk the Sydney harbour bridge, watch theatre shows in the Sydney opera house, lunar park and Zoos. Please consider 💞🙏🏻
Gotta say, just came across your page, subscribed and am really enjoying your videos. Started with the Norway videos, which is awesome as my wife is Norwegian and I've been there a few times. Going back in May as our son is a geology grad student in Tromso and is loving it. Keep it up. Love your "take it as it comes" attitude. It will take you far in life!
Funny, this 3 year old video popped up in my UA-cam feed today. It also happens to be the first ever video of Kara & Nate that watched (I'm from Oslo), and I've followed this channel ever since! :) Great throwback.
You need to come in the summer, warm weather, warm sea, lots of people. I have family in the USA, Wa, Spokane, and I and my wife loves it there, but as in Norway, it to get cold in the wintertime! Bad time to visit! ps. The busses between Gardermoen Airport and Oslo are cheaper, but they use about 15 more minutes! Svar
But the Flytoget, is the better option going back to the airport, because they will give you a cab if the train is delayed and the will pay a new ticket if you miss your flight because of a delayed train. The cab paid by Flytoget was the only reason I made my flight back in March when there was no train at all.
I watched your full video just bcos its about Norway. I've been to Norway in 2012 on a ship(bulk carrier) . But back then I was a bachelor. Good to see you enjoy the place as a couple. ❤️ From India.
So random but when I’m bored, sometimes I’ll close my eyes and scroll through your videos and just pick whatever I land on and I’m never disappointed. Today I ended up here and now I want to go here 😂
It's so weird seeing you guys in my country, but so fun!! 😍By the way, if you guys took the "normal train" (VY), it would've saved you about 10 dollars ;) The airporttrain is expeeensive!
right, I was going to say that! but if you want to feel luxurious AND like things really easy, you can skip buying paper tickets and just swipe one credit card each at the ticket gate (same on exit). So easy!
Preach IT 🙏 Isabell ! Flytoget er jålete og latterlig dyrt. Vi må tilbake til strieskjorte, en felles ujålete matpakke for alle med svett ost og tørt nørtøftig brød :)

I've had the brown cheese and love it! I call it a dessert cheese. My grandfather who was from Norway would give it for breakfast served on toast. 😋😋 Yummy!
If you've been only to Oslo, you've seen absolute zero of Norway.
Agreed. You have to experience Northern Norway and the northern lights!
@@vildejn I live in a western part Hordaland, and been to north as well, here's true Norway.
LordArioh Me too!
Shut up, Oslo is a beatiful city with so much to do. If you don’t go Oslo you’re missing out
Oslo is a significant part of Norway, you’re absolutely lying to yourself if you think the capital is zero percent of Norway...
I have been watching from the start and I have decided that I am going to watch all of your videos over again because Kara and Nate have inspired me in so many different ways and taught me tips and tricks how to travel. Kara and Nate are the gods that I worship every day after school and I am so entertained by them. Thank You, Kara and Nate!!! I hope you have a wonderful 100th county party! Thank You so much for your effort of a youtube channel and helping my dream of travelling come true. PS, I was thinking that every once in a while, you could do a live stream in a city that is able to entertain people without us getting bored.
Anonymous bub hi
This is a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Rewatching a bunch of videos today! Love the positive energy you both have.
I LOVE you guys! That’s all 😊❤️
That was seriously hilarious. 😂😂I laughed out loud when you breathed into Nates face. Lolol
😂💁🏻♀️
I've always enjoyed Gei ost, when in Norway. Made coffee better too.
The regular train is half the price and just as fast as the airport express train. Unfortunately, a lot of tourists don't know that. :p
Try to take a cab or uber from any airports in NYC. 10 times the price.
Flytoget is a horrible deal and was built on an exclusivity deal to use a specific faster track that fell through really quickly (so the regular train also uses the same track), so it's reason to even exist was gone a very short time after it was built, why the government keeps subsidizing it and lets it live is totally lost to me.
you guys have one of the most entertaining channels on youtube.... i whatch you guys 25/7
I just love that you all haven’t lost sight of what’s expensive still. Lol. You still do things that us normal folks could do when we travel 😊😊😊
When Kara looked at the statue looking all confused and goes hmm is he kicking his kid? HAHAHA too funny
I laughed so hard when Nate gave the analogy for the brown cheese that I legit fell out of my chair right next to my dog
Omg go Kara....u jumped twice, some woman for one woman👍👍👍😊
No you didn't... you are lieing
@@michaelmonberg1038 Yes I did
I have a wobbly chair
I have been watching your Vloggs from the start and am almost caught up. I just finished watching the Oslo Vloggs and was laughing right along with you each time you told the story about thinking a guy was robbing Nate’s backpack on the plane! Moments like that revisit me in the most mundane and unrelated places. A memory like that will pop into my brain and I will end up laughing hysterically in front of strangers and they have no idea what is so funny!
my dad actually helped build the opera you were standing on! it made me smile as i looked at the picture of me and him sitting on the roof of it :)
«best norwegian waffle in the world»
*visible confusion*
Duh bro Norway is the world
Please come to Australia!!!! There are so many places to visit and so many activities to do! Walk the Sydney harbour bridge, watch theatre shows in the Sydney opera house, lunar park and Zoos. Please consider 💞🙏🏻
Cool video, though as a Norwegian I have to say that Oslo isn’t really representative of what most of Norway is like.
Sååå sant
Helt enig
where is that place thats good then?
@@agquiz1847 a lot of places actually, Oslo is really cool too tho.
@@agquiz1847 Oslo is pretty representativ but maybe Sognefjord or any of the other fjords
Wow u guys make my morning. Just love watching u guys.
I just can't get the smile of my face when I watch your videos. Keep it up
"Is he kicking his child"? Ahhh I laughed so hard!
The statue is named "man attacked by genii", as in the baby-shaped Roman mythological creatures. My mother called it "child alimony".
"The best norwegian waffle in the world", haha! Love your vids :)
Finally I’ve been somewhere where you’ve gone!! Lol. Oslo is amazing. The brown cheese, not so much. 🤣
“That’s the coldest water I’ve ever been in my life.” Goes to Antarctica and does the Polar plunge! 🤣🤣🤣
Norwegian waffles, römme ("sour cream") and brown cheese is delicious :)
Svar
They could have taken the regular train and saved about 100 kr! They took the expensive Express train for some reason.
Sun in that part of world is so amber, so soothing and charming.
Did you guys see the landscapes and mountains? That’s the best part about Norway! 💚
Best explanation of how the cheese tastes. Had me laughing so hard.
I love the way Nate subtly commits spousal abuse. "You jump in first Kara! Then jump in with me!" Keeping Kara in check.
So random but when I’m bored, sometimes I’ll close my eyes and scroll through your videos and just pick whatever I land on and I’m never disappointed. Today I ended up here and now I want to go here 😂
LOL cold and unique places. Now that's a title for a song LOL thank you so much for sharing your travel
It's so weird seeing you guys in my country, but so fun!! 😍By the way, if you guys took the "normal train" (VY), it would've saved you about 10 dollars ;) The airporttrain is expeeensive!
We took the bus from the airport into Oslo which is also a good and affordable option.
right, I was going to say that! but if you want to feel luxurious AND like things really easy, you can skip buying paper tickets and just swipe one credit card each at the ticket gate (same on exit). So easy!
Yeah! The local Vy train is the cheapest. Even the bus is more expensive and it takes twice as long to get to Oslo.
Preach IT 🙏 Isabell ! Flytoget er jålete og latterlig dyrt. Vi må tilbake til strieskjorte, en felles ujålete matpakke for alle med svett ost og tørt nørtøftig brød :)
Kara is me, every 5 min “okay I’m hungry” because OKAY SAME SISTER 🤣
4:35 I have never seen someone eat a waffle like that
Mais same
Same
I eat waffles like that
Love waffles like that
It's nice to watch you guys having fun!
Love your videos and just found out my ancestry is from Norway and found you guys doing a video. So awesome thank you. 😊
