Wow that's nice to read! Agreed that Rhipsalis are mega cool (that coming from a complete dork, sooo...) The grey salt clay pots that I adore come from a local nursery, or Flowerama. They actually came down in price this year. The 5 and 6.5" inch come from Lowes. And all of the rest come from thrift shopping, which is our favorite sporting event 😅

I too have committed the hoya mortal sin of chopping leafless vines. I've been pretty fortunate with the ones I have. They each stimulated growth below that cut which is exactly what I wanted.
Even though I am not trying to grow in coir I appreciate learning about your method, regardless of what other plant folks are doing. You have Lots of great tips and suggestions .
i do like how you are so real when you repot your plants. It's your house and your plants so just be you, messy or not you will clean it no one else. When I'm doing my plant care I enjoy every moment of it, and worry about cleaning later. I don't understand people sometimes! why do they care?
You're right. Repotting with wild abandon shouldn't be on *anyone's* list of things to worry about. Unless they don't own a broom. Then it might be a problem 🤣😂🤣

I keep a small handheld broom and dust pan nearby when I repot because I know it's going to get messy whenever I repot. 😅 Love seeing the videos and would love a tour of your plant rooms with doggo included, of course.
Thanks for explaining the cell collapse! My Icensis has some leaves like that. I was aware of the little black dots of edema, but not the blotchy thing. The Icensis seems to be doing well and the newer leaves are gorgeous, but I was afraid the blotches were more serious than they are. BTW, I agree that your Rebecca is a bit of a pill. Haha

Oh do make your mess Dave! Dainty plant repot? I'd think not! Now I'm so jealous of that Merillii! Mine has grown nicely but the leaves are smallish. It's in a south facing window. Are there two forms, narrow leaf and round leaf? The Vitellina is gorgeous! It does resemble the Fusco Marginata which I have and resurrected. I hope my vitellina grows up to look like yours! I think, at least in some areas of one's life, it needs to be lived with complete abandon! Good question on the merrillii. There is indeed a long-leaf version. I, too, have a merrillii with smallish leaves, the one with quite large leaves from the video, and then a cup of props that are seed-grown that have HUGE leaves. My conclusion is: I have no idea what's going on 🤣😂🤣
Not certain if it’s been mentioned but Hoyas love to go counter clockwise, or anticlockwise in England, a sthats how they naturally grow. They seem to grow slower if you try to make them go clockwise when wrapping them on a trellis etc
I've heard that, too. But haven't experienced any ill effects after a year of using them. My plants have had huge growth over that period of time. Cheers 😀
Repotting is meant to be messy. How else are you supposed to repot them and be crazy about it? 😊🫢 You do however you repot them. And also, everyone start from bottom up anyways. Everyone is their own experience with plants. Including myself. Thank you for sharing! 😄😄

I am using your idea of putting my terracotta pots in plastic cups this summer. Hoping it does not rot the roots on 11 small plants. Great idea!
I'd put the chances at very, very low. Mine was only slimy because I was keeping it in a 90+ percent humidity "chamber" 🤣

I'm going to do a props repot/Hoya update. Like all (ok, most) young Hoya, they don't look like much.... yet
The copper was the issue. It allows a small amount of electricity to flow which the plant may not like.

Oh do make your mess Dave! Dainty plant repot? I'd think not! Now I'm so jealous of that Merillii! Mine has grown nicely but the leaves are smallish. It's in a south facing window. Are there two forms, narrow leaf and round leaf? The Vitellina is gorgeous! It does resemble the Fusco Marginata which I have and resurrected. I hope my vitellina grows up to look like yours! I think, at least in some areas of one's life, it needs to be lived with complete abandon! Good question on the merrillii. There is indeed a long-leaf version. I, too, have a merrillii with smallish leaves, the one with quite large leaves from the video, and then a cup of props that are seed-grown that have HUGE leaves. My conclusion is: I have no idea what's going on 🤣😂🤣

Not certain if it’s been mentioned but Hoyas love to go counter clockwise, or anticlockwise in England, a sthats how they naturally grow. They seem to grow slower if you try to make them go clockwise when wrapping them on a trellis etc

Neither of the products I use need to be buffered. But it is brand specific.

I've heard that, too. But haven't experienced any ill effects after a year of using them. My plants have had huge growth over that period of time. Cheers 😀

Repotting is meant to be messy. How else are you supposed to repot them and be crazy about it? 😊🫢 You do however you repot them. And also, everyone start from bottom up anyways. Everyone is their own experience with plants. Including myself. Thank you for sharing! 😄😄
