    Just a couple of thoughts. Good video, but just keep in mind, some of us "Grown Ass" women living on one income can't afford high priced make-up, or may be intimidated to shop for it if we can afford it. Thanks for your consideration.

    LOVE it! :). There are at least 4 UA-camrs I watch that stop the lid color at their crease (where the skin folds) and I desperately want to reach through the screen and force them to take it higher! #hoodedeyeprobs haha

    Definitely helpful. I appreciate that you assume the viewer knows nothing because some of us don't. Thanks for explaining the different brushes and what they do; brushes are pretty much a mystery to me. I like that this look is polished and natural. Thanks! Looking forward to the next one.

    Marnie, this was soooo helpful. I am a beginner at eyemakeup (all makeup really), so found this fascinating. Especially since I have hooded eyes due to age (I'm 57). Love the color combination you put on your lids. Would never have been able to figure out how to do it without your detailed explanation. Thank you! ~ Janis from Florida

    Hi Ms GoldGirl, Love the title of this series! I've been looking for vids for more mature skin and there are not a lot of them, sadly. I've been wearing makeup since I was maybe 12 BUT, I am now looking (because I have to) for new products, styles, techniques, tools, etc... I am very glad u have taken on a tough topic that others are ignoring. I hope u do one on "concealers" as well. I have dark circles for the first time in my life and very, very dry skin so everything I've tried so far has just brought out my wrinkles and not even done a good job of concealing the darkness. Even the vids I've seen done u can tell they are doing the same thing. So there's a suggestion and a request after u do your foundation vid maybe (please) u could tackle this one. : -) And of course giveaways are great!!!! Also, thank u for covering the quote "low end" or affordable alternatives.

    Awesome tutorial, very detailed step by step info that is so helpful & like the other viewer stated, not so intimidating. I really appreciate this step by step info, exactly where to place the color, showing which brushes to use & Blending, all of this fantastic. While its second nature to a lot of viewers, a lot of us really appreciate the basic instructions on creating a basic eye look. Thank-you Marnie, You are Great!

      I really appreciate it so much. I just hope its not boring for you or other viewers. We all love to watch tutorials, but so many tutorials do not show us the basics of how to apply, which brush etc & there are a lot of us Grown A$$ Women who do not know the basics, so this series is Awesome, I just hope others appreciate it as much as I do! Thanks for all your hard work in putting this all together!

    Well done...I thank my lucky stars to be one of your 'friends'...you are truly an inspiration to me and I'm loving this series, I learn something every time I watch you...thanks for being my 'YT Guru'...can't wait for the next video...oh and I went and got the Wal-mart brushes when you 1st mentioned it (I didn't have time right now to go back through all your old videos to find the one where you 1st mention them, but it was a while back I'm just guessing probably one of your 1st several, but I could be remembering wrong, lol) and then I went back a got a couple more, I also got some of the face brushes and they are great too!!! PS I noticed that the walmart link wasn't an affiliate link, as much as you've talked about these brushes, it should be one, so listen up walmart, lol!!! Thanks again Marnie!! Laurie

    I used to play with makeup in my 20's, kind of just wore as routine in my 30's, but now I'm in my 40's (late) and need to learn of better options for my maturing skin. It's really nice to see GAWs making videos for other GAWs. Thanks a bunch

  • @cwsjohn
    @cwsjohn 10 років тому

    Great concept...makeup lesson for GAW. The beginning states you are teaching like the viewer is new to makeup. Keep in mind that if the viewer were new to makeup she would not be using high end products. Liked the video - really - but maybe using drugstore brand. A new makeup user would be very intimidated by use of high end.

    I can't thank you enough for doing this for us GAW's, Marnie! Wish somebody had done this 30 years ago, because the older I got the more embarrassed I was to ask, and the more intimidating it became to me.. I know it probably sounds crazy to most make-up lovers, but I kind of equate it to a 55 year old not knowing how to boil water!

  • @shoesly
    @shoesly 10 років тому

    That was great! It took me a while to really understand exactly where MY crease is, I think that can be tricky since we all have different eye shapes. And I would add, these things take practice, so go do it! Just because you may think it looks weird or off, keep trying because you will find the look and technique that you like but you have to practice. Just do it, it's fun! Let your inner princess out! :)

    I loved that!!! Thank you! Since I am never sure whether a color will look good on me or if I will use it enough to warrant the cost I have never purchased any high end eyeshadow/makeup/brushes. Do you have a recommendation of a drugstore alternative with those similar colors? I also feel I need to invest in a few good brushes. I do not have a blending brush, but hear it can make any look...better! Thanks again. Love the tutorials and the series. Feels like it was made just for me, because I am a GAW who is new to makeup

    Although I've been doing eye make up forever. I worked at a high end. Department store in college, this is also where I first began using high end cosmetics 😫, a very expensive habit! As I age however, I have been trying to find new looks because I have very deep set eyes, so a dark crease color doesn't work. I have to use a barely noticable shade. Even a peachy shadow looks better. I love the colors you have, a beautiful palette.

    I am loving the tongue in cheek GAW series. I am just really getting serious about makeup and appreciate the tips. I find myself splurging every now and then on a really nice product. It's fun to hear your opinion of them.

    Great tutorial! Like how you showed a simple look, then how you could add a little more, then a little more, to increase the impact or change the look. Thank you!

    I don't have hooded eyes but I have deep set eyes and I have to pull my shadow up further to be able to see it too...I fake having a bigger lid also, fake it til we make it! :)

    Did u try the dior grege palette? Very sophisticated. Also Lancôme is coming out with some matte palettes that look amazing.

    I love this look! I have the same palette and the Dior assistant told me you can go in any 3 directions for a different look...pretty neat but I like your look with the pink in the transition area and lid....I love Dior!

    Great tutorial! I have hooded eyes too. I learned a few tips. I always have trouble deciding which color to put on my lid.

    I think you look like Paris H. in this video and perhaps because of the same kind of eyelids... ;-)
