I just found your channel and I am so happy. There are not enough "mature" beauty youtubers out there so I'm always thrilled when I come across one! So good to watch someone who understands our needs. I love your videos and look forward to watching more.

Thanks Marnie.... I find I have still so much to learn about makeup application, having grown up in the all natural/no makeup 70's....now that I need makeup I need to apply it correctly and you have helped me immensely with that! Keep up the good work girl!

I completely agree - that butter bronzer is the best! It's the first bronzer that I've hit pan on. Thanks for all the great tips!

Oh yes, I found this tutorial very helpful. I did see a subtle difference in the application of bronzers and both are nice. Believe or not I only recently started using contour and bronzers. Thank you for showing your technique.

Nice work Marnie! Odd that there aren't a lot of more basic tutorials anymore...so many people do tutorials for specific makeup looks or products but not a ton are out there or are this good and informative about just the basics. Thanks for sharing!!

Gorgeous! I recently just started wearing bronzer thanks to one that came in a Lorac Getaway palette from last year. So glad I tried it, as I think I hated them before because I just wasn't using the right tone. And love the in-depth tutorial, including how to dip in your brush, and the steps. I always did highlighter last, but will try it before blush next time!

This is the first video that I've seen where someone has mentioned the reason or difference in bronzes vs the cool tone for contour! You've done a superb job without the hype of "oh this product is so great." Thank you for your explanation - you now have anew subscriber :))) 🤗

Fun to watch and learned something. I purchased the Too Faced Bronzer and it sat in my drawer forever. Now I'm using it daily and for eye shadow as well. It is such a multi-tasker. I want to try the Butter Bronzer and the Milani and I think I will be set for a while. Loved the way you showed two application techniques, because that was my biggest question. My second was which blush brush to use? I'm using the Real Techniques Blush brush for blush and I have the problem with it being too big. I'll try the one you're using. Putting that highlight under the blush trick is life!!!!

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I am 36, pale of skin and just trying to figure out this bronzer thing for the first time, haha! Your video was SO helpful! I realized my brush wasn't fluffy enough and that combined with starting on my forehead rather than my cheeks was causing my dreaded stripy-ness! Made some changes this morning after watching your video and I literally feel good about the way I look in bronzer for the first time!

I, too, am a GAW. Just found your channel and subscribed. I like your approach and I sense a binge coming on. I agree with you about the bulky P.F. packaging. I removed the pans from the compact with rubbing alcohol and put them in a magnetic palette with several other powders. You can also just crack the centre piece from hinge on the clamshell and keep the pan/mirror in something smaller. I use an empty N.Y.C. Sunny Bronzer compact for on the go. It's much sleeker and lighter to carry.

Hi Marnie! First of all, I want to apologize if I didn't thank you back when you started the specific makeup areas techniques & tutorials. I remember requesting how to put on mascara at the very beginning & you're 1st specific tutorial after my request was on mascara. I am sure it had nothing to do with me but it still made me feel special & I enjoyed believing that you filmed it responding to my request. I really don't remember if I thanked you. So, thank you so much because it made a world of a difference, so much so that my husband noticed & most my friends. I also want to thank you for this video. I never really thought about the difference on using the matte bronzer vs the shimmer bronzer. And yes, I could see the difference on both sides of your face. Thank you for this incredibly educational tutorial.👏 I truly appreciated it & loved it. I love being a Grown A** Woman & I love your G.A.W. series❣

Thank you Marnie. You taught me the difference between a bronzer and contour. Really enjoy this type tutorial. I believe while demonstrating the Real Techniques blush brush it may have had a small amount of bronzer on the brush which left a slight amount of bronzer on your face. I noticed it immediately and don't think you have a natural stain. 😊❤️
    Great video!

This was the Best tutorial on how to apply bronzer, blush, and highlight. Your technique was so simple and quick, yet so beautiful and effective. You really showed how a light application warms and shapes your face for a natural glow! Lovely for a healthy and grown up look. And, I too appreciated seeing how you dipped your brush into the product - it gives a better idea of how much product you are picking up. Thank you! P.S. Have you tried the Chanel Soleil Tan? It is a lovely product and works beautifully on those of us with light skin tones.

I'm a sucker for pretty packaging too. My most used bronzers Chanel Tan de Soleil , Sephora Fiji, and if I want just a tiny bronze up The Physcians Formula (I have both colors). I also have The Two Faced, the Milani and the Hourglass. Like them, use them. I have several other brands but honestly never reach for them. My holy grail bronzer brush is IT Cosmetics #213.

Wow, you are a very beautiful woman. Thank you for posting a bronzing tutorial, i am just starting my makeup journey. Ive bought some garbage (thank you "influencers") but ive also been lucky enough to find some really good products. I just recently discovered Hourglass and will recieve my first package of vanish liqyid concealer, the plumb blush and lip gloss on tuesday, im so excited about it). Anyway, i really appreciate people like you, i came across a video by a young girl and she was just packing on the Hourglass, i felt like she was just showing off how much she had. All these people from non english speaking countries were kissing her ass in broken english in the comments. She said she was a 'model' at one point, she did not look like a model to me, oh and her accent kept changing English, Scotish, Canadian lol. I suspect shes an insta model and Mommy and Daddy pay for her existence (i suspect she was british but lived in Canada a long time). Anyway, you are gorgeous and clearly know what you are talking about 😊😚🌈

Off the top of my head, I don't. Well...maybe Teni Pension? She's drop dead gorgeous, extremely intelligent, and medium complexion. The good news is that all of the bronzers I showed come in darker tones too! Well, except for the PF one.

Rosa T --I have that problem too since my skin is deeper than most youtubers I watch and love. One of my absolute favorites is the Hourglass bronzer in the deeper shade than Marnie has. It has a beautiful, enlivening undertone to it. (I really don't do well with grayish undertones.) the Elf palette in the darker shades works well for a less expensive option.

Do you think your frequent use of dry shampoo could be a cause of your hair thinning? I know you have the thyroid issue, but maybe this could also be a factor. I've read several articles lately that discuss some of the drawbacks of dry shampoo , and hair loss is one. Just a thought.

+Silver Tinsel Anything is possible, and I saw those articles too, but in my case I'm fairly certain it was connected to a medication I was taking. I stopped taking spirnolactone and within a couple weeks my hair stopped falling out and has been growing back in.

I get confused on what type of brush to use with cream products I.e. Natural fiber vs synthetic, dual, or doesn't it matter? When I tried the physicians formula butter bronzer , I'd say that's more of a cream product?, with a natural brush I felt like I wasn't picking any product up (that and the shade was too light so it didn't show up at all on my skin which isn't dark to begin with). And With other creams I feel like I have to use a more dense brush to smear the brush into the product. What am. Doing wrong?

    • @MsGoldgirl
      @MsGoldgirl  7 років тому +4

It is technically a powder product with a really creamy texture. Generally with cream products synthetic brushes are better-they'll pick up more product and are easier to clean afterwards. Almost all the brushes I showed are synthetic and as you can see it showed up on me. With true cream products, I prefer using either my fingers or a damp beauty blender-but I'm not a fan of cream products because to me they take more effort!

Is it the "bronzer" one u have?? If not, I will keep searching for medium but I didn't see a medium on their website either. Please let me know, I am fair skin and looking for a great bronzer. Good morning 😃🌞☀️ 💁🏻💭. Your so right there is a different between contour and bronzer. Hourglass makes great Bronzer. There is a great shimmer. Too faced makes a great milk chocolate Bronzer. It's a great 👍🏼 color for most skin tones. A dual fiber types of brush for contour is extremely important. But sigma makes great brushes. You and beautiful heel bones. It really warms up your skin. Great tips and products Marnie. Stay fabulous. Hugs 🤗.

Thanks Marine for the video! You would think at 60 yo I wouldn't need a tutorial but I did.
At 16 yo probably owned three makeup products. 1# blue eye shadow , 2# cover girl blush 3# cover girl mascara. Thanks again !
