Alex Moreau comments on the frost, remarking that he has not seen this damage in 20 years. Every vineyard in his 17 hectares of Chassagne was damaged to some degree. Afterwards the primary objective was to manage the vine to produce buds for the following year. In some vineyards there would be a vine with 3 or 4 bunches and then several vines with none or one, so he points out the difficult in maturity. “I was careful not to pick too late - I do not like wine with heaviness. I like fresh wines.” He started on 21st September. The harvesting weather was perfect. “The challenge was to keep the style of the domaine.” And he feels they show the Moreau style.
