When Dr.K talked about condoms, I saw a lot of people in chat saying stuff like “double up”… no. Don’t double up guys, the friction of both condoms against each other could cause them to tear.
Another thing I think a lot of people don’t talk about is women’s labias. The size and appearance of the labia is genetic and not an indication of sexual activity
@@BLAPGames bad out there, what should i say living in a 3rd world muslim african country where ppl we never ever hear abt sex ed unless u look it up yourself
Sex education in my middle school was "yeah sex exists but don't do it til you're married or at least an adult" and my family said the same thing, and I am SO glad the older kid that lived down the street was there to tell me all the shit the adults utterly failed to communicate to me.
Kind of disappointed that he didn't go into the side effects and complications of birth control, more specifically the hormonal types. I feel like it's often advertised as some sort of miracle pill/device that just prevents pregnancy and that there are no negative sides to it when that could not be further from the truth. Personally I've become very depressed and suicidal from birth control pills and I've had a myriad of other physical issues from them. It actually really bothers me that the focus here is only on the effectiveness and not at all on the issues that come with it. Especially since these streams feel more catered to guys, what happens is that young guys, in the name of safety, start expecting their girlfriends to carry the entire burden of preventing pregnancy, and thus also all of the side effects - depression, suicidality, decreased libido, yeast infections, stroke. The list goes on. So many guys expect or even outright demand that their female sexual partners start taking hormonal birth control without knowing what it does to a woman's body. I just feel like the risks and negative effects should be brought up too, not just the positives. /rant, sorry just had to get it out of my system lol
A lot of the mainstream sources of information don’t go into the possible side effects too much. Probably because they don’t want to scare people away. Luckily, my bf is fine with condoms. Sucks that a lot of guys are unwilling to use them. I agree that guys should know about the risks and burdens of birth control and pregnancy. They really aren’t taken seriously enough
Please, please be careful anyone looking to get a copper IUD, I was almost non functional for the four months I had mine, like I was sick the whole time, constantly in a state of low iron even with supplements because of the amount of bleeding (the longest bout was 14 days) and completely unable to have sex due to discomfort. Some woman acclimate fine, but do research and make sure you're OK wiith the risks. Luckily my boyfriend was fine getting a vasectomy (he already has three kids) and I was able to take it out, but still suffered side effects for months afterwards. More research needs to be put into male birth control!
Everything you said is spot on. My gf and i did some research into IUDs and there are serious risks with them that aren't that uncommon. Don't know why so many people online advocate for them like they're some foolproof BC
Yeah I was surprised how he talked about them. When I got my consult about IUDs I was sort of encouraged away from copper IUD by my doctor because the complications are so rough. Heavier, more painful periods are pretty common and most people don't want that. Some people can only have a cooper IUD and some people don't want to add hormones to the mix but it seems like they are somewhat out of favour compared to hormonal ones.
I agree and I appreciate you bringing awareness to this. I also think male birth control is a great concept. I do however want to address that unfortunately male birth control is much more complicated than it sounds. it's not merely an issue of less research or demand. Women normally only generate and release one egg per month, and because they need to carry the child for up to 10 months, they are sensitive to several factors that can be used to manually disrupt or break up the cycle. Men, however, produce billions of sperm every single day. preventing the production of all sperm is hardly viable, and reducing the fertility or motility of the sperm is complicated without risking long term potentially irreversible effects on fertility. it is mechanically and biologically much harder to reversibly impact the potency of a male's sex organs than it is a female's. That said, I do want to acknowledge that there isn't nearly enough awareness of the side effects of female birth control either. While it's far more accessible, it's still a complex process and there's a reason why there are so many options available. Many of them have negative effects and can be harmful or cause reactions in the wrong people. Young women are often forced to make a choice between risking pregnancy or risking their health, and often-times aren't even aware of the risks. It would be great to have an alternative
I feel like this oversimplifies "the pill". If you get sick, that can impact the effectiveness of the pill as well. You have to take it not only every day, but at the same time too. And the side effects can be awful. I personally took it for years to regulate and reduce pain, as my cycles were anywhere from 18 days to over 3 months long, and the longer ones were incredibly painful and heavy, to the point I was completely unable to function for several days - so I needed it, but I also found it impacted my moods, metabolism, hair, nails, skin, and energy levels as well. If my cycles didn't impact my life so severely, I'd have avoided it, effective or not.
Dr. K: "were not going into the statistics of the erogenous zones, but we're just going through the basics" Also Dr.K: "But did you know that 70% -" Boy 🤣
I think statistics like this defeat the point. The point is that you should be paying attention to what makes your partner feel good and listening to them.
It's 17%, based on some recent research. The way he said it made it sound like 70, which is going to mislead a lot of folks. Almost everyone needs clitoral stimulation to get there, but it's that lucky 17% that can get there without it.
There should probably be a follow-up on this. When discussing STIs a lot of important information was skipped (like risk during oral, anal, and vaginal sex). I feel like this is important, since a lot of information here was primarily targeted at hetero relationships.
Thank you Dr K for talking about vaginismus! I’ve been suffering with it for years and I feel as though it’s not a topic most people feel comfortable talking about. I used to (and still do to some extent) feel a lot of shame about my condition and I felt like I was “broken” and “not a real woman.” But over time, I learned to accept that it wasn’t something wrong with me, just my body. It’s nothing that I did wrong. I’m finally beginning to make progress towards pain-free sex with lots of physical therapy and emotional support from my boyfriend. I want anyone else out there suffering from vaginismus to know that there are options and it can get better! It just takes a lot of time, effort, and communication with your partner.
That's some solid advice. I'll throw in that the pills can have interactions with other drugs. For example, some antibiotics negate the effects of the pill, which is how I entered into this life.
If I was in your position I would justify watching it by saying it's for reviewing stuff I've already learned. Cuz sometimes people forget things. And even if we haven't forgotten anything, learning something multiple times makes it stick in your head more and makes it easier to remember.
Honestly, I'm watching this more because I'm curious how those who educate people about sexual health approach the subject today. I feel like the sex ed that I got in school and at home was actually pretty reasonable with regards to what was covered but the way it was covered in school felt more like it was an early draft of the curriculum where they knew what they wanted to teach but had no idea how they should teach it and lacked the resources to properly teach the material. I graduated from high school in mid 2000's in western Canada and a lot of society's views regarding topics that revolve around sexuality have changed over the years. It's not really about learning something new but more about seeing an evolution of how things might be taught today.
Dr K. Can you do a video on embarrassment and anxiety of going to the doctor. I can’t bring myself to go to get something like a Pap test done or talking about other embarrassing things, despite ‘go to the doctor’ being the number one advice.
Do you mind if I ask what part of speaking to a doctor like that makes you uncomfortable or having them do a smear test? I once had to have a nurse hold cardboard sick bowls under my ass while I violently shit. She must have filled up 7 or 8 of them and the smell could kill a man. I assure you that you'll never have something as embarrassing as that happen and it should make you realise that the nurse or doctor you're seeing has always seen worse than anything you will bring. Fuck they've probably even seen worse that day. I think it's related to your feelings about your own body but this is just a randoms take from dealing with doctors and nurses a lot.
@@Daniel-tr7qy That is the exact type of stories and being told 'we are use to this' would be helpful! From a heathy person who rarely needs/ goes to health care appointments, its hard to see doctors as more than 'someone with lots of prestige and training that you can go to for health related problems'
I am very rarely sick, and always find it really irritating to have to see a doctor. I'm just not used to it, I guess. Where I live, the health service seems to do everything it can to avoid having to see me. It's just such a hassle to even get an appointment for anything.
Thank you for including vaginismus in your discussion! The gynae, GP, etc all just checked me for endometriosis and then just told me to use more lube. It took a long time to find a doctor who could diagnose the problem! Not knowing that it even existed and useless doctors just blaming it on lube caused massive self-esteem issues and set recovery back by years. (would also love a video on consent. And some of the complications with consent if one partner experiences painful sex, and how guilt on both parties complicates things, etc etc)
Actually I think that might be better. The notorious "THERAPIST" signs combined with him referring to himself as "Dr. K" and very little to no mentions of his background in most of his video, made me suspicious and I had to make a background check to see that the guy is in fact a legit psychiatrist.
I love that this topic is being covered on this channel! However, as a person who naturally menstruates and has consumed a lot of sex-ed content, I do have a couple notes: 1. The cool medical asides were super interesting to me (never thought about periods as necrotic before but it makes total sense) but I fear that they were distracting from the overall message in some spots. Especially because I feel there were other places in the lecture that were more important to add nuance but were skipped over for the sake of simplicity. 2. One of these spots for me was the ovulation cycle and how it directly affects fertilization. You explained the basics, but it's also important to note that no two people are the same in terms of their menstrual cycle. Some are shorter or often longer than 28 days. Some are unpredictable. Some people ovulate early or late in their cycle compared to when the uterine lining sheds. To know ovulation exactly, you have to spend time and even $ to track your cycle. All this, along with the varying lifespan of sperm, increases uncertainty in the timing-based method of BC and adds to the chaos of having a period in general. 3. Another small thing was that you didn't mention vaginal rings in the BC rundown, which made me sad because I have one and I think they're amazing! Also, adding more about the side effects and pros/cons of each in general. 4. It would be so great if you had made time to touch on consent. To me, it's really intertwined with this kind of education and definitely an important part of safe sex, since people can't consent in the same way if they don't know the risks of what they're doing. Also, since consent is more and more often in the news (yay!) people are starting to pay attention and a lot of people have that sexual anxiety about how to deal with consent. 5. As some other commenters have brought up, covering oral and anal sex in the STI section would have been fantastic, especially because for inexperienced folks, their sexual debut is often a blowjob or something else besides PIV (in my limited experience). Plus, even though I know the main audience for Dr. K is straight guys, it would be great to specifically include the LGBT+ community in this way. And either way straight dudes can and do engage in these types of sex! Sorry for the essay but I had to write this down while I was thinking about it.
way not enough thumbs up for this post! would be amazing if he could do a follow up regarding all the "not-vaginal" engagements and what to watch out for (especially oral sex and how to deal with deseases then) and of course a mental session, regarding consent and the meaning and approach to sex in general as i read a lot of BS in online communities where people either don't understand sex at all (except for a measurement tool of their "masculinity" or whatever) OR have this complete biased view on sex (like slightly mentioned in the vid with the "1. stage of orgasm" anecdote, that was just hillarious xD )
I think communication skills in general would be handy. A couple that can communicate well can probably have clearer consent. Also, on the topic of cycle tracking, I recently saw some hype about apps finally being cleared for doing so (back in 2018, but hey). Supposedly the first one, "natural cycles" is like 100 bucks per year and had a normal use failure rate of 6.5%. Seems hype but I don't know anyone who uses it so it may have drawbacks I haven't seen.
Yes you are right but this is just a clip of a stream where he answered questions remember. It's not something he prepared in advance and made sure to cover every topics. I'm glad we even have these videos for free.
Daily reminder that Chad/virgin is shaming men for not having sex which is damaging to men's self esteem as well as pressures men into sex and valuing themselves through "conquering" women, using women as a means to prop up their social standing. also promotes the double standard of women being devalued for having sex
@@RahulSharma-ot3wo that intention may seem harmless to you, but “memeish” is really just a synonym for “immature”. I am not criticizing you as I expect you are young and it’s ok to act that way, but adults see it differently.
Looking forward to the Consent Episode Dr. K, because I think there are a lot of misconceptions in young man's side. Inceldom is kind of connected to that, I think. Many young man just cannot differentiate the boundaries and identify them which results in rejection because the girls just don't feel safe and comfortable and gets the negative emotions pent up which results in breakups or emotional neglection. Also great lectures man, I am looking up to you and seen many of your videos, they are the information that our generation, and previous generations needs/needed. Because there are many toxic misconceptions around. Much Love and respect Dr. K! 😌
Hi, sorry if I sound too ignorant but what do you mean with "differentiate the boundaries". I'm coming for a South America country where most teenager lose their virginity really soon probably around 16 yo. (I'm talking only in a persona experience) Most of cases I know from classmates or friends (woman and men) they lost their virginity because they want and the tipycal "scenario" was going to a home when the parent are not there. So what boundaries do you mean? Good Day. :D
@@the11382that's a fine thing to talk about too but it's not the exact same problem in type or volume. How men specifically are (not) taught respecting boundaries is a distinct cultural problem and a conversation worthy on its own. Boys will be boys doesn't apply to girl's upbringing and so forth.
@@selkokieli843 You act like girls are mandated to respect boundaries while the boys are free. Nobody says Boys will be boys. But meanwhile, if a female teacher sleeps with a male student, he is somehow lucky. The social experiments are very clear: everyone steps in when a women is hit by a man, but if the man is hit by a women nobody does it. "He deserves it." Look it up. Men are expected to be able to defend themselves, but get put in jail when they do. Women are hit by an over-generalization of weakness and some people perpetuate the myth of women being victims no matter what. Sexism is a 2-way street. Humans are tool users. A few people with sticks can dominate most of the world(excluding other humans ofc). We aren't as fast as a tiger, but we do have the weaponry to be able to kill it even when it runs away. Don't fall into the trap of writing rules and that's somehow going to make people better. The criminal is by definition disobedient of the rules written by the law.
Found you for my game addiction resesrch at school and now Im an avid listener and learned quite alot especially problems that directly affects me. Thanks doc
A few things that werent brought up. Though I think most people are aware of this, it's surprising how common this belief still is: men aren't always in the mood aka they don't always want sex. Nor is being touched/groped always welcomed, especially from strangers. Erections don't mean we are necessarily mentally aroused, they may be purely physiological. They are definitely NOT a sign of consent, in fact this is how female-on-male rape can occur, you can stimulate an unwanted erection. On a lighter note, it can be quite distressing to get them at the wrong time, for instance at a presentation. Pro tip for guys: squeeze the muscles in your thighs to help get rid of unwanted boners. I think Dr K brought up a few good points about female hormones and I understand that this video wasn't meant to cover everything, but it would be helpful to also have some more education on male hormonal imbalances, primarily testosterone imbalances and its mental effects. As well as common issues such as erectile dysfunction and the shame surrounding that. Lastly, I've seen a lot of dismissal regarding the severity of vasectomies and male birth control pills, even in the chat in this video, despite Dr K basically saying that, like tubal ligation, it's best to consider a vasectomy once you're sure you don't want kids. I've seen an increase in pressure from women about vasectomies being a far easier and safer solution than female birth control and, while I understand the sentiment, I think this stems from ignorance. Vasectomies are not guaranteed to be reversible and the odds worsen with time. Depending on how much time has passed, the reversal rate varies between 40% and 75%, so you are at a significant risk of infertility. Pushing a decision like that onto a partner by downplaying this is unethical. When it comes to male birth control, the lack of it is not because doctors just hate women and want only them to take responsibility for birth control; it's because men don't operate on cycles of fertility and infertility. We are always meant to be fertile, pretty much throughout our entire lives. Unfortunately, we don't have convenient hormones such as progesterone. A male birth control pill would mean temporary sterilization, not simply tampering with a cycle. So as much as it sucks for women, and I do sympathize with them, this makes male birth control far more difficult to develop and the current options that are being developed to be far more invasive and dangerous.
While I agree with everything you say, please also consider that hormonal birth control can make women anxious, depressed and even sometimes suicidal. So "pushing a decision like that onto a partner by downplaying this is unethical" needs to go both way (you never stated otherwise, I just want to make it clear that it should go both ways. Women are way too pressured with birth control)
@@nanamikado999 absolutely, I agree. The only reason I bring it up is because I've seen a disturbing rise in these sentiments, which I do think also stems from a sort of resentment towards men not having to make the same sacrifices which leads to a certain willful "blindness" towards the facts surrounding vasectomies and male birth control pills. Which I can sympathize with, but I felt like this had to be said :)
@@nanamikado999 reminder that women are the ones who wanted the pill so they could control with their own hands whether they wanted to be made pregnant or not. Then they asked to educate men about said pill so they would be all for it and got what they asked for. The pressure for birth control for males and females comes from women (understandably since they are the ones who pay the higher price). But you can't mirror the pressures as if they didn't come from the same group accross different generations.
Probably not going to sit through the whole video because I know sex ed already but I'll feed the algorithm with a comment and a like. This is super important to talk about especially for countries that have more conservative views on sex.
Wonderful video, thank you so much!! I appreciate the thoroughness of the conditions, especially how well Dr K explained the menstrual cycle and endometriosis. I would’ve perhaps liked to see a mention of how difficult some birth controls are for some women (or anyone with a uterus), such as incredible side effects, depression, and the agony of inserting an IUD. The way it was spoken about makes it sound like it is a very simple choice-use BC! But it doesn’t take into account the very real very painful physical hardships we go through to use them. Ps. As a survivor, I’d love a video about consent.
Most people are scared of "the talk" with one person in private. How much of a chad do you have to be in order to have the talk with thousands of people on the internet .....
Pro-tip, donate blood and you basically get a free screening while also helping to save lives. Can find out your blood type too if you don't already know (everyone should know).
RE: PMDD...Endometriosis (sp?) is one possibility but there's way more to it than pain and super bad moods. In really bad cases it can cause rage, extreme paranoia, and even psychosis. I have PMDD but my periods are normal and not very painful most of the time. Current studies are leaning toward a sensitivity to one's own steriods, an abnormal reaction to normal hormone fluctuations. There's a medication being developed that PMDD sufferers are very impatiently waiting for. Basically the theory is we roid rage during the luteal phase. A lot of people with the condition also tend to be super sensitive to all steriodal medication. Sometimes birth control pills can help, but it's hit or miss. Weirdly, a lot of people with PMDD get a bit of relief with B12 suppliments. Another theory is that it may be connected to a mutation of MTHFR gene, which can cause a whole host of problems, to include psychological, and makes it difficult for people with the mutation to absorb B12. I'm on the extreme end of it. I need to eat B12 like candy, take a mood stabilizer, and track my cycle to make sure I start taking another head med a week before luteal phase starts. If I don't do all this there's a good chance I'll end up in either jail or comitted. I can't take birth control pills because I get increadably depressed. My mental health team has been fantastic about helping me cope with it. We joke that I have a mild case of lycanthropy, in part because my hair and nails grow faster during that phase and I crave red meat (very common in people with PMDD, and happens to be packed with B12).
from someone that never took sex ed in school (due to skipping grades) and never had their parents talk to them about this kind of stuff and only knowing a little from the internet, this was actually so helpful. Thank you!!!
Apparently my girlfriend's grandma had two ectopic pregnancies, both ending up in her fallopian tubes rupturing, bricking both ovaries entirely (and a very painful thing to experience, I might add). On top of that, she had several miscarriages. She was lucky to have the two kids that she did before her second fallopian tube ruptured. I guess, in turn, that makes me lucky to even have a girlfriend right now. lmao
Around 19:00 you mention substance P, but it's prostaglandins that cause a lot of the pain bc it makes uterus and nearby things like guts and back muscles also have inflammation and spasms
I have ADHD and take the pill and let me tell you it is a struggle to remember (which obviously is really bad). It's hard because depending on what's going on in my day, I wake up at different times, go to bed at different times, I'm at home at different times, etc so it's not like I can really set a daily alarm to remember.
Oh dear god same, and the script I had fucked up so I was left without birth control for a while, because I kept forgetting to go to my doctor to get a new script. So when I eventually went, I was just like 'fuck it, implant time'
I keep my daily medications on my workstation right in front of me. That way it doesn't matter when I get up, and even if I forget right then or even for an hour or two they're staring me right in the face so I'll remember and take them eventually.
I'll be 30 soon and I can say that I have had next to no sexual education in my past strict christian upbringing. They didn't even teach me how my overies and uterus work. I just knew my mom really liked to track my menstrual cycle that was almost non existent (due to stress and lack of nourishment). I actually learned how everything moves together to work this past year via my obgyn. Like I knew the basics. In, out, baby (sometimes). I'm sure that was interesting for her. I don't know most parts of mens sexual organs because I wasn't taught. How do men produce sperm? How do women produce eggs? I'm sure I know but it's not personally important for me to recite from memory. I never had an interest because I'm asexual and plus I was taught god would have a frowny face and I was also constantly afraid he would literally strike me down with lightning. I still take birth control. I found nexplonon helpful personally because I don't have to think about it and a protection if anything unfortunate were to happen to me cause remembering to take birth control can be difficult... because I literally never think about sex. I guess I was living my best life thinking that you magically conceive a baby after you get married. Imagine telling your kid the virgin mary birthed jesus but never got to figure out what exactly virgin really meant for multiple decades. I literally thought it was magic. But was told magic was of the devil. I got a lot of mixed messages growing up. No wonder I didn't bother to figure it out lol It also caused a lot of sexuality problems until I said I didn't care anymore. Edit: Also like this video it's kinda vague in some aspects that I can't properly connect it all. I'm also neurodivergent so unless stuff is taught in detailed specifics it doesn't always give me the best chance at understanding. I took a self taught (due to covid) anatomy class in college and had to quit the course while I could because nothing made sense. I was taking home tests and still barely passing. And at the end of the major I had to take a state exam so I knew I was doomed so I dropped while I still had a 4.0
That's intresting how dangerous the start of ignorance can be, But it might be a rare circumstance for you because when i was young me and my friends could logicaly understand the basics of biology like, female cows produce milk for fawns, same with humans... The flower and pollen cycle, the fish and sperm and egg cycle was shown in early biology classes. But this video talks about the activity sex not just procreation.
I have extreme anxiety after having sex that I might've gotten her pregnant even if I'm using protection, all steaming from a pregnancy scare that happened a year ago that made me extremely paranoid about it
Another thing about phimosis is that it is pretty normal in boys younger than 10. It usually solves itself during puberty. I remember I had it myself when I was a kid and slowly it just got better and better until it was gone. There are parents who unnecessarily put their child through surgery because of it even though it is not always a problem.
as someone who had had to talk with a friend about them seeing their parents going to paradise and what was happening, I referred them to this video. You were a good help.
@Skříň Ikea Like Dr. K was saying, someone can have and pass on HSV without ever being symptomatic or having an outbreak. That's the truly shitty part unfortunately. I've had 2 sexual partners in my life, and I got my first outbreak shortly after becoming sexually active with my 2nd partner (now husband). Neither of my partners tested positive for HSV (the blood test has a 30% margin of error. THIRTY PERCENT DUDE), nor did they ever have outbreaks. I have an HSV-1 infection of the genitals (the type that usually infects the mouth). So, likely passed to me through oral sex. But fortunately for me, HSV-1 doesn't excel in that area so I've only had 2 outbreaks since my diagnosis 4 years ago.
@@MegaKhas Not necessarily. Like Dr. K said, you can have and spread HSV without ever being symptomatic or having an outbreak. That's the shitty part of these viruses. Furthermore, the blood test has a 30% margin of error. The most accurate test for HSV is to swab an actual lesion (from an outbreak). But if you're asymptomatic and never have an outbreak, you very well may never test positive on a blood test either. WOOHOO, BEING A SEXUALLY ACTIVE HUMAN IS A CRAPSHOOT LOL.
@@MegaKhas Please never just assume that, or say it out loud, be it with strangers or friends. They need to find out themselves whether it's true but saying it will only result in stone walling.
Im quite grateful that i actually had pretty good and extensive sex ed, both in terms of biology/physiology and in practical advice (consent, safe sex as well as stuff about relationships and identity). It was kinda funny rehearsing the stages of the menstrual cycle with feedback loops and such, feels like im studying for the test about the nervous and endocrin system.
Your One week Window is missing an important Information! The "Egg" lives like for 48 hour, but sperm can live up to 7 days!!! ...just in case someone misinterprets it. Love your work and watching for entertaiment and to fill knowledge gaps 😉😊
thanks for sharing this information with people but there are two things that disturb me about this. First it's as you said "sexual health education" and not general sex ed which I believe should also be considered at some point when talking about sex. Getting and giving pleasure and florishing sexually is really important and sadly the term "sex ed" often only refers to IST preventions and contraception. And it's worse in school where they'll litterally make you think that sex is bad and you shouldn't do it. So for me the title should be "sexual health education" instead of that because you are not taught sex, but safety And secondely the title says "for gamers" but it applies to anyone and has nothing particularily aiming at gamers which some of the viewers might find disappointing when watching the video. But I learned things so thanks ! :)
Dr. K, could you make a video about humor? This is something that haunts me every single human interaction and I see this is common between introverts.
What i do is if the joke comes immediately in my head then i say it. If i have to think a few minutes or more then the joke is shit. Not a general rule but it does help
Some points: - I don't have skill to make many jokes, so I'm just the silent guy most of the time, where I would like to be the one making everyone laughing. - A lot of times my humor is too weird for most people, so it feels like I went too far. I feel like I don't know what is appropriate to made fun of.
I'm in 20:11 and as a person born a woman, I feel for the women who have to go through pain while having a necrosis process during their period cycle. I've never had menstrual pain in my entire life, and my mom had been the same until she had me 👁️
I think it would be great to have a session in how intimacy creates a great sex life as well as attraction (long or short term). I’m thinking of how it’s created and how that can make you become so attracted to a person most physical attributes becomes secondary and sex becomes a so much stronger experience. I’m thinking that’s especially good for young/inexperienced people to have insight in, it’s such a super power both for getting laid, having great sex without tons of experience and a foundation for a meaningful long term relationship.
Ngl, if you read enough doujins, you can actually learn a lot. Just need to cross-reference it with reality to see which ones are accurate and which ones aren't
As someone who only discovered you're meant to be able to pull your foreskin back like a year ago this video really helped. I'm trying to see a doctor as I literally cannot move my foreskin without immense pain. My country's sex ed is non existant
I'd recomend looking up Phimosis, it's a very real medical condition however it is quite treatable. I hope you're able to find a good doctor and get it solved!
A big problem I see in sex ed in my country is, that our teachers did educate us but we split in two groups. Men and women. When youre amab youll just learn about your body and how it works and the same with afab and their bodies. And thats about it. Ofc its nice to at least have that but its not enough honestly.
As a guy, constantly thinking about mensturation gave me cramps for real. And they became really powerful. The human brain can cause so much nocebo pain, it's incredible. I've had this happen with brutal stomach pain as well. Most obvious of all is when my dog hurt her back paw and my leg started hurting like mad in the same place. It's insane....
Probably because you're empathetic. It's a shame that people who care end up feeling pain. But ones who don't care feel nothing. I wish I could be with someone empathetic, but without them feeling nocebo pain, ofc.
I have never had any really good sex ed. Neither in school, nor from my parents (even though they taught me the basics). So hearing everything in a professional setting was really great. Thanks.
Now that i've sat through the entire vid i have to say some information like the go to a doctor advice and the actual reality of sexual intercourse as compared to mass media as well as the final section regarding the major mental problems lile penis size and premature ejaculation were helpful. A thing i wish is that doctor K should've used a simplified png of a uterus like those in school books instead of drawing it, that would really simplify the first part of the video. And finally i think that another vid delving purely into the topics discussed in the last session would be extremely helpful, why do i say this? because as a teenager these things do matter a lot to me and i beleive a lot of the audience is of the teenager/young adult crowd. All in all a good vid and a thank you for talking about this topic.
Hey doctor K I really didn't think I would be writing this, but I think it could be Important. So my brother is 20 has no interest in finding a partner however don't get me wrong that's awesome, but it's why he doesn't that concerns me. When we were in school our dad spent our school years in prison, due to a sexual offence charge that happened 40 years ago. The issue is this he is crippling scared about a girl falsely accusing him of grape. (keeping it PG) So my question is this (that's if you manage to see this hulking comment) . Firstly is this something I should or shouldn't be concerned about, and if so what are some things I can do to help? I understand Im not him so I can't do the work but at least I could help guide things in the right direction. he's my younger brother and I just want him to live life to the fullest because everyone deserves too.
I don't think Dr. K replies to comments and I'm not a qualified professional, bu I'd recommend watching a video made by Macabre Storytelling about Male Struggles in Dating (can' remember the exact name of the video). It is very long (almost 2 hours), but it is one of the most honest, unbiased explorations of the topic ou there and it provides plenty of good advice while also being funny. Give it a watch if you guys have the time.
The best offer you can make is talking to him about it, giving space to open up about his fears. But ultimately it's his choice to seek a better direction and you can not make it for him.
Unfortunately this is something very possible, there are a lot of cases of a guy serving time for a while before the woman says it wasn't true. Until the laws change to actually require evidence you will be considered guilty until proven innocent, I don't know the best way to protect ourselves besides celibacy.
I've never been on the pill as a man but every woman I've talked to will tell me a laundry list of reasons why it makes their lives worse but they take it any way.

Thank you for the great video Dr K! Love how you are bringing sex ed to the platform for people to learn about. I would love to see more sessions with some deep drives into these topics to cover some more things (like birth control side effects on things like mental health/even increase blood clot risks etc)
When Dr.K talked about condoms, I saw a lot of people in chat saying stuff like “double up”… no. Don’t double up guys, the friction of both condoms against each other could cause them to tear.

Round 1
Well, there is such thing as responsibility after all. Or maybe there was, I don't know.

It sure did
Please, please be careful anyone looking to get a copper IUD, I was almost non functional for the four months I had mine, like I was sick the whole time, constantly in a state of low iron even with supplements because of the amount of bleeding (the longest bout was 14 days) and completely unable to have sex due to discomfort.
Yes male birth control please!!!

Dr. K: "were not going into the statistics of the erogenous zones, but we're just going through the basics"

I tend not to leave a lot of comments, but I just seriously appreciate this comment for making me look further into the topic.
Thanks,
That's some solid advice. I'll throw in that the pills can have interactions with other drugs. For example, some antibiotics negate the effects of the pill, which is how I entered into this life.

Cuz sometimes people forget things. And even if we haven't forgotten anything, learning something multiple times makes it stick in your head more and makes it easier to remember.
@@WanderTheNomad true, i still enjoyed it quite a bit

I love that this topic is being covered on this channel! However, as a person who naturally menstruates and has consumed a lot of sex-ed content, I do have a couple notes:
Consent is probably the most important one, nothing should happen without it
way not enough thumbs up for this post! would be amazing if he could do a follow up regarding all the "not-vaginal" engagements and what to watch out for (especially oral sex and how to deal with deseases then) and of course a mental session, regarding consent and the meaning and approach to sex in general as i read a lot of BS in online communities where people either don't understand sex at all (except for a measurement tool of their "masculinity" or whatever) OR have this complete biased view on sex (like slightly mentioned in the vid with the "1. stage of orgasm" anecdote, that was just hillarious xD )

Hi, sorry if I sound too ignorant but what do you mean with "differentiate the boundaries". (I'm talking only in a persona experience) Most of cases I know from classmates or friends (woman and men) they lost their virginity because they want and the tipycal "scenario" was going to a home when the parent are not there. So what boundaries do you mean?
Good Day. :D
I agree :)

@@_Lumiere_ I had no idea such pressure was becoming more and more present. Thank you for bringing light to this worrisome matter
@@nanamikado999 reminder that women are the ones who wanted the pill so they could control with their own hands whether they wanted to be made pregnant or not. Then they asked to educate men about said pill so they would be all for it and got what they asked for. But you can't mirror the pressures as if they didn't come from the same group accross different generations.

“Oh banana” - Some random dude in Donkey Kong 64
Apparently my girlfriend's grandma had two ectopic pregnancies, both ending up in her fallopian tubes rupturing, bricking both ovaries entirely (and a very painful thing to experience, I might add). On top of that, she had several miscarriages. She was lucky to have the two kids that she did before her second fallopian tube ruptured. I guess, in turn, that makes me lucky to even have a girlfriend right now. lmao
@@flhourbud I don't know, but I heavily doubt it. This was back in the 70s and 80s, idk if those were really accessible back then.
Apps like Habitica might help.
No wonder I didn't bother to figure it out lol
It also caused a lot of sexuality problems until I said I didn't care anymore.
Finally, a video for me!

How about the fact that they don't actually test for HSV (herpes) on a standard STI/STD panel? Learned this the hard way. 🙃
@Skříň Ikea No, unless you're grinding the toilet seat. They could have been born with it, or someone lied about their past.
@Skříň Ikea I'm sorry but your partner is lying to you.
Man I wish I learned this in high school, mostly with such concise efficacy.
Egg is expensive they say. In a all man world they can't survive without women.
Ah yes, the one group that needed it the most! Thanks, Dr K, for the optimism!
thanks for sharing this information with people but there are two things that disturb me about this.
So for me the title should be "sexual health education" instead of that because you are not taught sex, but safety
And secondely the title says "for gamers" but it applies to anyone and has nothing particularily aiming at gamers which some of the viewers might find disappointing when watching the video.
But I learned things so thanks ! :)
Dr. K, could you make a video about humor? This is something that haunts me every single human interaction and I see this is common between introverts.
what's the haunting part? elaborate?
@@kyokusei probably making a joke and hearing back pure silence
What i do is if the joke comes immediately in my head then i say it. If i have to think a few minutes or more then the joke is shit. Not a general rule but it does help
Some points:
- I don't have skill to make many jokes, so I'm just the silent guy most of the time, where I would like to be the one making everyone laughing.
- A lot of times my humor is too weird for most people, so it feels like I went too far. I feel like I don't know what is appropriate to made fun of.

I'd recomend looking up Phimosis, it's a very real medical condition however it is quite treatable. I hope you're able to find a good doctor and get it solved!
Do NOT, for any reason, get mutilated! Phimosis is entirely treatable without having to resort to c*rcumcision!
Twitch chat made this a million times better not gonna lie.

My guy's empathy like the brain enlightenment meme
@soupypunk its not that bad for all women. My gf for example gets a lot of bleeding, but feels almost no pain or cramps
Probably because you're empathetic. It's a shame that people who care end up feeling pain. But ones who don't care feel nothing. I wish I could be with someone empathetic, but without them feeling nocebo pain, ofc.

(keeping it PG)
So my question is this (that's if you manage to see this hulking comment) .

But ultimately it's his choice to seek a better direction and you can not make it for him.
Unfortunately this is something very possible, there are a lot of cases of a guy serving time for a while before the woman says it wasn't true.
