  • In this video we review the updated setup guide from Invisible Speed called: Invisible Speed 2 - The Updated Definitive Guide To Scale Motorsports Setup. This setup guide is from the perspective of tuning a 1/8 scale 4wd offroad buggy, but the theory of setup will transfer over to other classes and scales.
The book approches setup from 2 fundamental concepts:
    - Initial grip VS Overall grip
    - Where in the corner a setting takes effect. Such as: Corner Entry, Mid-Corner, or Corner Exit.
The author, JQ, explains how a change in a specific setting, such as link height for example, will affect the overall handling of the car such as how it affects initial grip vs overall grip, how the chassis will roll, how it will affect forward grip vs side grip, how it will affect bump handling, and how it will affect grip at different stages in a corner among other considerations.
The book continues to educate the reader by explaining how each setting of their car affects the handling, and in the final chapters the reader is presented with the recommended setups to use for High Grip, Low Grip, Bumpy Tracks, and Smooth Tracks based on the fundamentals presented in the earlier chapters.
Also note, when you buy this book from the website you will also receive a downloadable copy of the setup quick reference which includes common setup scenarios and what settings with tune for that scenario.
In summary. this book is a great resource to explain how to setup your car and explains each setting in the most comprehensive way possible..

Setup scenarios are what the online course is for! Thanks for the review, watching it I realised I am in fact insane. I don’t know how I did that.

You should have an affiliate link. I purchased both this, and the Essential guide based on your recommendation. I wouldn't have known about the Essential guid had it not been for you. I've only received IS2.0 thus far, but it's absolutely inspiring. Just so good.

Is this book gear for off road or onroad?

The book is written based on 4wd 1/8 offroad buggies and would directly apply to any 4wd rc. Concepts also apply to 2wd. Onroad is a little different because you dont need to tune for jumps.

Wondering more about the downloadable quick reference. I bought the book but any downloadable content is only available if you also buy the course as far as I can see. I plan on buying the course as well just wondering if there's something I missed. I pre-ordered the book months ago.

When i pre-ordered i made an account. If you log into the site where you can see your order and order details, on the left menu about partway down is an option for downloads. If you click that you will see your download available.

@@ronforeman5317 i think you can even click on the link from the email they sent when you did the pre-order. I think that gets you into the order details and you would see the downloads option in the left menu. Good luck!
