Sooooo many bugs!!!
So the BD250 is not capable of discharging a 1s ? I need to discharge 1s...
I personally use this discharger for my 1s lipo. It will do 20A max and it is a little more confusing to use: www.ebay.com/itm/254139418323
@@lawton70 Great tip thank you, are lipo and li ion the same? Mine are li ion ...
@@elevatedsciencesllc8089 li ion are a different type of chemistry. Typically used for transmitter packs. They have a different charge voltage and cut off.
Can anyone tell me what the star with Numbers by tamiya hope up parts means?
I thiught you looked a lil sluggish on that straight, started laughing when i heard you were spinning the whole way through
Great and informative as always. Voice over with positioning and thoughts help out a ton for my son and I to learn about racing and why you made your car changes.
Thanks for the feedback! I thought it would be interesting to add the driver perspective to the race. This series was all recorded as it happened so im glad it worked out as it did. Im glad you liked it. A new series will start soon!
Is this book gear for off road or onroad?
The book is written based on 4wd 1/8 offroad buggies and would directly apply to any 4wd rc. Concepts also apply to 2wd. Onroad is a little different because you dont need to tune for jumps.
Hello, good evening, I have a Furitek device for my Losi mini b (ESC AND MOTOR), I have had signal loss problems while the car accelerates without control... I already changed the receiver and I still have the same problem, can you help me? I have one flysky noble nb4 (transmitter and receiver) The battery is: ProTek RC 2S 50C 1100mAh Losi Mini T/B & JRX2 LiPo Battery w/EC2 Connector
There are a few at the track that have had the same problem. It seemed to happen when the esc gets overheated. What they did to fix was put a little fan in the car to blow at the esc to cool it down. A small one fron an esc seemed to work.
@lawton70 Thanks for your response, I'll do it and let you know if it's resolved, thank you!
Test the new hobbywing g4r
I stopped racing Touring Car (17.5) in 2017 and using my Fantom meter, the BEST stock 7.2/12.5 rotors were around 1650 to MAYBE 1700. I just bought a "modern" car (of ALL classes in RC, the one that changed the most in the last 7 years, is Touring Car as they pretty much all copy the Awesomatix car by eliminating hinge pins, going to pivot ball outers, SUPER short shocks and mid motor) I just bought a relatively inexpensive Rocket RC Superlight 17.5 and noticed immediately the rotor was EXTREMELY hard to turn once in the car. It states it is ROAR legal so I am assuming that still means a 7.2mm inner diameter. Anyway, on my Fantom it is registering 1800/1810 gauss! It seems to me I am going to have put a bigger pinion and wind up with 3.85-3.95 FDR on my medium sized black carpet track. Pretty incredible!
Thanks for sharing! I have 2 mini B's, one was converted from a mini T, and the other goes 80mph! I'm still lost on tuning the chassis and suspension. I've shimmed a few things with good results, but the steering still has so much slop that makes it hard to tune consistently.
Thank you sir for taking the time to put this tutorial together. It really helped me out a ton!! 👍🏻 Thx from FL! 🌴
Pretty cool. Ive been Getting into rc's and got a mini t last moth, since they were on sale. Now i have 3 mini t and one mini b that i plan to do a conversion into a brushless, with the engine that one mini t has. Where i live there arent many mini races, only 10th scale stuff but hopefully more stuff starts coming down here and more people get into it. But yeah your videos are super cool wnd nice to watch :))
Glad you liked the video. It was an interesting series with highs and lows. Finished on a high note!
Enjoyed the progress and racing mate 👍👍
Great job
Just looking at the servo you got, I noticed it’s advertised as a “soft start” servo. What made you go that rout? I ended up getting the savox SH-0264MG
Good question. I ended up with the SH-0257MGP because it seemed to be the fastest servo I could find that seemed to have the right tooth count for the hot racing servo saver. So far it is working well.
@@lawton70 good to know, I wasn’t sure about the “soft start” as I don’t know a ton about servos
@@jeremybennett5547 What it seems to do is when you first power up the rc it takes about 1 second for it to operate at full speed.
@@lawton70nsdrc makes a whole servo kit for the mini b. Seems like you did a bunch of work piecing together something you could just order as a whole.
@@hiramrodriguez4323 i wanted a servo saver in the car, and there were a few racers at the track who were breaking their nsdrc servos. Seemed to be a weak internal gear in those servos so i went a different direction.
Thanks for the videos! What kind of carpet is that track? I'm amazed that those stock tires have traction on carpet
The carpet is CRC grey carpet, made for onroad racing. It is lower grip than the current crc black carpet. A smooth soft tire offers more grip than the hard pointed carpet tires.
red car with white wing yellow wheels needs to learn not to reverse on the track! or is that not a rule there?
In our club we do allow reverse as long as they do not reverse into anyone. Should be waiting for the track to be clear.
Awesome video, that's some great racing.
cud u please do the tlr cva review? also if you run jconcepts wheels in back you will need to take a knife and sort of make the ball cup an open ball cup to avoid it from binding on the wheel, also remove shims. Thanks for another great vid tho.
🙃 Promo-SM
Thank you for sharing your videos are really well thought out, I appreciate your sharing
where did you get that car stand? looks great and easy to pack up, please share if you have a place you purchased that from
Don't forget that you can put the mini t rear tires on your mini b for a higher gear ratio the mini bee has smaller tires😊
I put cooling holes in my mini b body like the nitro cars to help keep the motor cool and it helps 🙂
Excellent descriptive video.👍
They make a 380 25t tazer i want to try that one in my mini b
The 380 series of motors use a different pinion bore size. The 280 and 370 motors both have the 2mm bore for the pinion.
@@lawton70 done made it work and my mini b hauls ass now 💨👍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great summary but instead of a pen I need a banana for scale
Hello, thank you for the excellent content about this motor. I see that Furitek lists the Kraken as 3S capable, but that would put the motor very close to what I assume is the max rpm of around 80k. Do you think the Kraken is 3S capable?
Good question. I see the motor says 2-3s but the esc that they sell for use with it says 2s. I'm not sure I would risk it myself.
@@lawton70 thanks for replying, especially so quickly. I’ll probably stick with 2S. One more question, the 5 pin connectors that Furitek uses for their motor sensor cables, could you tell me which series / spacing it is? Or how you made your 5 to 6 pin cable? I think Furitek used to make an adapter cable, but I guess they don’t anymore. Edit: I see that the “industry standard” is a 6 pin JST-XH 2.54mm I think. Is the Furitek a 5 pin of the same series? So just that and some lap splice solder joints with some heat shrink like I see in the video? Maybe some expando or loom later to protect those tiny wires?
@@Robert-mb1gb I added links to the sensor cables I purchased and wiring diagram in the description. With that 5 pin cable there is a specific motor side and an esc side. You cannot flip the wire around like you can with the 6 pin standard wire. I learned that the hard way. I purchased some spare 5 pin wires and had a few 6 pin wires here. Then I just cut the wires and spliced them together following the wiring diagram I put in the description. Its a 5 pin hall sensor to 6 pin port. It was an easy splice but the wires are very small so it is tough to skin the wires without cutting strands of wire.
Flip the rear suspension arms to give you a longer wheel base just like the mini t remove some some from the wing and it should handle better 😊
Thank you for sharing this, it is very interesting, as you journey to your ultimate goal
The series has its ups and downs for sure.
80$ is expensive for a tire spinner 😂 i will keep using my hand free device 😅
Its true, its a little on the high side. I do like to support local inventors and help them sell their new products. The mps fellow is a good guy and helps local racers.
What are the other cars? All Mini-B?
Yup! At our club we have a Mini-B open class where we use the Mini-b and allow the racers to run either brushed or brushless motors.
@@lawton70 Oh wow, that's awesome! I just got a Mini-B Brushless RTR and it's incredible. Just wish there was somewhere to race it here in Montreal.
@@pss999 they have a big track oitside of montreal. Im sure if you asked there a class would appear to run with.
@@lawton70 Yes, I've heard of it... in St Roch, about 45 minutes from here. I'll have to check it out some weekend, looks really good.
Your reviews of these guides are invaluable! Very respectful to the authors, too.
Standard for any type of discharge with that amount of current
Hi. Does the Hobbymate D6 Duo Pro support an external discharger like the BD350 ????
From what I can tell this charger does not have an external port to connect the external discharger.
Will it work with all of the mylaps RC4 variants?
This works with the RC4 hybrid transponder. Does not work with an RC4 that has 3 wires.
I use sway bars when I have handling problems 😊
I will give them a try in an upcoming video.
4 volt is good and all, but why not try 7.4v or 11.1v standard 2/3s? muhahahahha
Yes, i don't know anyone that would be running this at 4 volts. I want to know if these motors will be a better replacement for my Typhoon Hovercraft fan motors, but how would anyone know from a 4v test when that runs on a 9.6v battery pack?
what radio and receiver are you using on your car?
I'm using a Spektrum DX4R with the steering on the left for a transmitter, the receiver is a sr3520 micro receiver on its side.
Unfortunately it doesn't work for stadium truck dang it. It will do everything on a stadium truck other than toe adjustment. If you find a way to get it to work with a stadium truck please make a video 😂
I was able to test on my Stadium truck. What I did was use some spare wheel hexes as spacers when attaching the stands to the axles. What issue did you have for front toe?
Thanks for the review. Saved me ftom buying this charger + bd350 which I wanted for exactly the purpose of having smart discharge to a set voltage level. Ie fast discharge at high load then dynamically adjust till the voltage is steady. Since this product is not doing that theres no advantage over my bd200. P.S. I do understand how batteries work.
Wondering more about the downloadable quick reference. I bought the book but any downloadable content is only available if you also buy the course as far as I can see. I plan on buying the course as well just wondering if there's something I missed. I pre-ordered the book months ago.
When i pre-ordered i made an account. If you log into the site where you can see your order and order details, on the left menu about partway down is an option for downloads. If you click that you will see your download available.
@@lawton70 Cool, thank you.
@@ronforeman5317 i think you can even click on the link from the email they sent when you did the pre-order. I think that gets you into the order details and you would see the downloads option in the left menu. Good luck!
A lot of chargers do this set end volt to 4.37 or 4.38 and it will drop right where you want it
The stock buggy’s should race stock buggies. Brushless vs brushed will just suck the fun out of it for beginners…. The future of the hobby. The real fun in stock racing is “ box stock” rules. It’s all on the driver. Good video series sir
Thanks, it was a fun series to make. Learned lots about the brushed motors available for the mini-b!
whats the shaft diameter for pinon on it and how long is the shaft ? Im desperately trying to find sensored brushless motors that would fit my lmt mini however finding a sensored brushless motor that isnt showing internals of the motor and having right size shaft is a pain
The shaft is 2mm bore, same as the standard mini-b/t pinions. The shaft is about 10mm long and fits the mini-b/t perfect. Furitek sells this motor and an esc. This has a smaller 5 pin sensor cable which does not fit the standard 6 pin connections we use in the 1/10 motors and escs.
what ceramic capacitor do those use?
getting constant false peaks charging 7 different nimh packs using this charger..
Dug your last little series, excited about this one! 👍
Is it possible to install a extention to the motor shaft?
