I have a Chinese friend who can speak Te reo Māori. We both learned it together. It's so cool when she surprises all of the Kaumātua (elders). The look on their faces is priceless.
I'm a pagan and I study spirituality of many different pantheons, cultures and religions. I know a few different hakas by heart. I just watched this video now for the first time. I don't even know what they're saying and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. So fucking powerful
Now thats what I call a Haka, the Real Deal and not the $2 meal. Come on All Blacks! the Kapa o Pango is good and more fierce than the traditional Ka mate ka mate. Aaron Smith all credit to him as an All Black and the best half back in the world but he as well as the All Blacks need to wake up and accept a humbling lesson when it comes to doing battle on the feild infused by this heart felt dynamic spiritual expression. To top it off that 40-7 score reflected the power and mana from the Real Deal Haka. I would like to see the All Blacks still keep their new triangle formation as it acts as a spare head to pierce the opposition or enemy but it needs this type of real warrior fierce aggression that reflects total destruction, annihilation and utter obliteration to your enemies. Although its a mere sport but the energy and synergy that one can harness is astounding when you know how to tap in. I know All Blacks can come up with something of this same spirit and pre game attitude, the sooner the better
What would make this more intimidating is the fact that this is the first time the lions are seeing their opposition. Normally you just get to look at them to size them up. Here you have to face a haka, not the normal one they’re used to seeing either, a much more intimidating one. You can tell they weren’t very excited. Either that or they were a bit cold. Which can’t be cold coz it’s colder where they’re from.
What concerns me is that japan lays in the pacific ocean just like polynesia and japanese language surprisingly sound similar to oceanic languages too maybe im too curious haha
so cool seeing Yamashita doing haka..what a dream for Japanese rugby player, and he was awesome
I did wonder if there were any team members that weren't Kiwi and whether they'd do it or not. It's great that he did, and what a haka!
