I remember watching this a few years ago. Best Haka that I’ve ever seen. The guy at the front with the wooden axe shaped weapon looks bloody badass. The way they walk forward, plus the fog in the air. Too good.

I went to a Maori funeral last year. The men, all dressed in All Blacks' jerseys did a Haka before the hearse left with the dear man's body. The powerful energy coming from the Haka gave me goosebumps - one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had.

haka is not always about intimidation and warfare. it is often about indigenous relationships to their lands and peoples. some haka project a particular message in response to a struggle or hardship a person or community has faced. the intensity and heightened expression is a visceral projection of the values embedded within the message of the haka - frequently choreographed . Here is an interpretation of this haka quoted from NZRUGBY: "It tells the Māori story of the creation from the void, the nothingness, the darkness to what we have today. It also tells of a gathering of young warriors, young chiefs, young rugby players who are making a statement and setting aims, objectives and strategies to achieve mātauranga (knowledge), whanaunatanga (unity) and taumatatanga (excellence)."

@@melanisticmandalorian One of the best hakas (plural, not single haka). Or have you seen only one....? How can it then be "one of the best" you've seen when you've only seen one?
And technically, you haven't SEEN it unless you were there personally and saw it with your own two eyes while it happened...!
No, you've VIEWED it on your cell phone or your lap top or some other remote device displaying a video recording of the event.
You're not the only one that can split hairs or correct other people's grammar. People who resort to that sort of thing on UA-cam or other social media usually do so because they lack substance in what they have to say.
But you didn't really say anything, did you? You TYPED it....! That is not the same as "saying it" now, is it? So you can not be credited or faulted for saying anything, now can you? Because you haven't "said" it.
I would like to see you offer that defense in a court of law when you are being sued for defamation, or something.
If only Amber Heard offered that argument as her defense for the Op Ed she published in the Washington Post....! Then she wouldn't have been liable for 15 Million USD.

"One of the best Haka I've seen" or "One of the best hakas I've seen" are both proper, grammatically to use because, I am referring to this in particular, but am not comparing it to the others. If you are going to try to tear apart someone's argument, at least know what you are talking about.

(Or go and VIEW another million haha hakas and tickle yourself).
OR, you can find something better to do with your life than starting ridiculous arguments.
It is utter ridiculous to say that you haven't heard something if someone else said it in writing....!
Writing is a representation of what you say as you write down your thoughts and your ideas and you are TYPING WORDS>>>>!
If you are typing words then those words can certainly be "heard" when you read them.
Writing is "remote speaking" and writing words is just as good as saying them.
(or did you forget how you learned to read..? your teacher taught you to articulate the words by making the sounds that those letters represent).
Are you hearing what I'm saying, Bro..?
(Just ignore the few unsavory words in between which I have deleted, I cannot say it out loud but I'm sure you can still hear them even though you haven't read them. HA HA HA!
I'm sure your ears are ringing now...!
Besides, if you are saying "One of the best" YOU ARE comparing it to the others you've already seen (which were not as good as "One of your best". (What a stupid comment to make). "I'm not comparing it"...when you are in fact comparing it...; that is the whole gist of your comment).

Same here. I dig the Haka as such and I think it´s cool traditions like that are kept alive. But performing it before a rugby game degrades it to a clown show in my opinion.
