Maan! I might start watching more Rugby if the pre shows are like this. I wonder if the other non-polynesian big Rugby nations have started to incorporate some of these great traditions, maybe spiced up with their own history?
When Tana Umaga goes down on one knee and you know kapa o pango is coming, it must immediately send a chill down anyone watching’s spine! The Black Ferns haka and that of the Maori All Blacks also were tops. What I’d never seen before despite having watched literally dozens of Super Rugby matches involving Kiwi sides was hakas performed by the Hurricanes, Highlanders, Crusaders, Chiefs or Blues! I guess TV only shows All Blacks hakas. Ditto the Drua and Moana Pasifika. Do those seven teams do a challenge before each match? How about when they face each other, like Samoa v Tonga in the Pacific Nations Cup? And if you like these cultural challenges, you must see the Hobbs and Shaw movie where the Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) character leads villagers in a wild siva tau against the villains. Great video!
Maori are indigenous culture of New Zealand, even though most new Zealand people are of English descent. It could be same for America, where they could honor their own indigenous cultures?
The best haka will always be the very 1st Kapa O Pango vs the Boks in 2005 lead by Tana Umaga 🤤 I'm a Bok supporter, but I love the theatre of it all vs our greatest foe😈😈
all of them are my favorites but it really depends on who leads them- saw ardie lead “ka mate” at daygo and he brought aura- but benhur kivalu leading the sipi tau in all of tonga's matches in 2003 was perhaps my favorite- the audio work was brilliant and it made kivalu and the teams shouting feel like a thousand tongans are yelling at you 😨
First haka was in 1888 in England against Surrey haka was only done in away rugby games 1986 was introduced in home games google will make you learn and understand the traditional meaning but Fiji Tonga Samoa cook island Hawaii all do a haka so if people hate against haka look at all the nations I named then your hating on there tradition as well
I wonder how the wallabies feel facing the Cibi considering half of them are Fijian lol
There aren’t many nations who have an answer to All Blacks’ Haka. But Fiji comes damn close to it

My brother has lead a Māori Haka very similar to the first Haka at my uncles wedding, it’s wonderful to see so many people do these dances!

The Hurricane's one was amazing
Love TJ's animation.
This is the content we need!!!!!
I wish us Aussies would show such respect for our indigenous cultures.
The Moana Pasifika one was really good
nothing will beat the Samoa v Tonga haka's I believe at the 2003 WC
And was it Kiwi's v Tonga in RL test?

What would be American war dance be? The crip walk? Line dancing? YMCA? The hokey pokey? The chicken dance?
@@incoldblood975 “fight and win!!” 😂

Ymca is so gaaaàaaaaaaaae
Line dancing would be hilarious. I’d pay to see the forwards do that. The backs already do.
@@DLBBAMExactly. Ask a Native American tribe
if i'm opposite of these guys, i might be too hyped to play against them... they make this feel like my life's on the line...
They’re all fantastic and unique love them all
Some of the best ones are from the NRL all star games! Indigenous war cry is mental

wallabies so scared crap in they pnts
Bro where's the Munster haka?
❤❤❤❤❤
The challenges add to the spectacle, but they don’t need the props. What next? Impaling the referee on a spear?
In all fairness, I’d definitely tune in for that.

Definitely not the black ferns
pathetic melodramatic bastardisations of culture should be abolished from sport .
