Good old siku... Love these models. I think you need some more...
The brand "siku" was (maybe still is) so strong in Germany that the street carpets/mats we used to play on were called Siku-Carpets
@@olik136 even more expensive than matchbox....
@@olik136 I got hundreds if not over a thousand of them in the attic. Great models, but modern ones really are not that good anymore....
I do have some Sikus, like paint damaged 2008 Cayenne Turbo.
@@christiankaden2074 and more accurate on average.
Wheel swap in old Siku?
Profanation.
I agree with you that this was one of the best styled of the Porche line. You did it justice in this restoration. We had some visitors from the UK this last weekend, so we showed them some of your videos. They became subscribers.
Nice clean representation of the 911, no whale tail spoilers, extra lights ect...... Well done !
I had a collection of semi trucks from siku... Best models to play with..
When you said you didn’t know what color to paint it, I thought “metallic blue would be so beautiful”, so I thank you double the beautiful display of your craft...
The color is beautiful. It has both a metallic and satin feel to it. As the line from the movie said, "Porsche. There is no substitute."
That's one beautiful candy paint.
Tidy and those wheels finish it a treat.
Colour and wheels gawgeous, smash that like button folks.
YET ANOTHER TOP RESTORATION......LOVELY COLOR AND FINISH
Like me the new wheels in this restoration!!!.
Very good!!!.
Very tasteful interpretation... Never heard of Siku...
What a nice contribution of a german compatriot *BAM*
Beautiful colour, looks so much better with that cream interior as well.
The blue body and gold rim wheels look great. As far as spacers, four small diameter pieces of silver tubing between the tire hubs and the chassis would work to fill in the gaps and still look like an axle. Don't know if that was already suggested, but to many comments to read to find out...LOL.
Great job with the Porshe 911 Amazing job with the paint and the wheels look Awesome .My favorite 911 is the turbo with the cool spoler on the back.
Awesome bud, love that blue! Siku didn't spend a lot of time fitting those doors...
Very nice! The wheels and paint look great. The 911 Targa has a removable black top so that should actually have been painted.
U must admit I hadn't heard of a Siku until now. It did turn out rather good. So well done 👍
Never heard of Siku until today, but that's a pretty decent looking casting.
Hi Rob,what a turnaround, from shabby to a new model, nice colour and good choice of wheels, BBS rims, with the details it's awesome.
I would also make the roof black since it looks like Targa to me with those lines.
Great job Rob. The 911 is one of my favorite Cars.
Good job and congratulations for rescue this piece of collection to someone germanian mark.
One hold from Peru.
Cool car Rob. The Porsche badge on the front look really good on the detailing.
Wonderful work Rob , very catchy colour , car looks nice , 👍👍👍👍
Great wheel choice! I usually don’t like gold but those work!
The thin straws that came with single portion kids drinks make a good spacer
Good idea
Gorgeous car. Good call on the paint, you nailed it.
That looks awesome Rob , love that metallic blue colour , great restoration 👍
as spacers what i use on my cars is the rubber wrap from electrical wires i take the metal wires from inside and i put a little bit in each end of the axles
Good idea
Great restoration, the color choice was Great, however, being a porsche 911 targa the roof section must be painted flat black, it is a renovable section
Thanks for sharing
"must be painted flat black" seriously, he does as he wants, it's a custom lol
I agree. And the section directly behind it should be chrome. Doesn't look right to have a targa roof line all one color. Great job though!
Beautiful, simply beautiful, loved the color good work my friend
The replacement wheels take the car to the next level ..
Also the wheels could use some spacers.. maybe from ball pen refill tubes...
And color looks awesome
Good idea
Awesome, again another super restoration. Your choice of color is spot on!
Love the 911...that is just beautiful...
Looks good all in the one colour Rob, good colour too.
I like those siku castings
Hello mate. I am really appreciating and enjoying your videos. In watching this one, you talk about needing spacers for the wheels. I use a very fine piano wire as my axles and then glue black glass jewelry beads as hubs. These same beads could be used as spacers between the chassis and the wheels. Also, to achieve different ride heights, I have used bits of hollow tubing to run the axles through. I hope these ideas help. Keep up the good work! Tschuss!
Nice work! Love this style of casting. Classic 911.
Lovely
Nice casting Rob.
Such a beautiful blue
model shops or e bay sell brass or aluminium tubing which can be used for spacers.
trans am wheels. but they work!. would like some gloss on the indicators. very nice 👍
What a nice letter. You are having an affect on people. Keep it up
Rob you’ve created cool color
Great job on the Porsche
Really like the color. Great custom resto!
Very nice, this era Siku are hard to come by in the UK, never even seen this casting before!
very nice work 😎👍
Beautiful!! Love those aftermarket wheels!!
Looks awesome
Turned out nice. Never heard of that brand.
Fantastic restoration as always
Nice color, great wheels.
Schön geworden
This custom looks WAY better than original.
Nice. Good choice on the wheels too
Need to wet sand the primer so the paint looks smoother.
oh my sweet childhood of siku
That look absolutely amazing Rob!
The nice detailing and the freedom to do a paint job however you like is why I like these customs more than restorations! The original toy makers were thinking on how to cut corners on mass production to make a buck, I see no reason to lower your own standards when you're the one doing the job. Looks much nicer than factory standard!
For spacers on the wheels, depends what kinda base you have, how good looking do you want it to end up being, and the amount of time you want to put into it. This is a common method watch?v=Tk0a29JXBbg (you just leave the tube longer and handing out more. But if you have enough material on the side where the axle pokes out of the base, you could glue a "half nut" (any stubby cylinder with thicker walls cut in half vertically will do, can easily make your own with whatever material as long as it glues to the base) since you can glue it wall to wall and extend the base that way. Whichever option you take, once you paint the base, it will look much more natural and hide anything, and it is under the car too, so adding just about anything, honestly, works.
It looks a bit likes a restomod!
Siku huh...? Never even heard of this toy company till I google them. Very old German Toy Company. Pretty cool stuff! Amazing redo man! keep them coming!
NICE paint job and details! I sure would like to take that for a ride if I'm lucky to win it! 👍🤔✌
maybe stick a small coil of wire either side of the wheel to act like a spring or just use some of that plastic tube
The Porsche looks great, nice restore!
Nice work.
Very nice, I have very few sikus myself and all the doors seem to open and close that way..
M'y abonné sur ta chaîne super restoration cars pour Frenchy.
Enjoyable video again rob. Glad you did that wheel change
It looks awesome, you’ve made me start to restore cars too!
Great job
Cool car
It's a 'TARGA'. It has the 'TARGA' rear window. Just tape it off and hit it with black paint.
I got to say it looks awesome
Lovely! Never heard of this brand before, but they shine up as well as the others. (Weird about the doors, though. I mean, you would think the Germans of all people...)
It made me laugh when, about 20 seconds after I thought, "Oh, nice wheels," you said you didn't like the wheels. Shows you what I know. :)
That "Made in West Germany" stamp has nostalgia value for old-timers like me. I've got a screwdriver they gave me at my first job (which was doing telephone tech support for a PC manufacturer, but they gave me a screwdriver, weirdly enough) that says the same, and is, unsurprisingly, by far the nicest screwdriver in my toolbox.
Well-done fella I do like that really nice car
Wow mate that looks amazing! Really proper!
Maybe your should of added spacers on the axles? I think i would of cut the axles and used tubing.
just beautiful 👍👍👍
Nice job buddy looks great thanks for sharing bud 👍👍
Nice well done Rob Brian Thailand
Good work it looks nice.
The color is near to the Siku V 234 Porsche 901 (1964 - 1969). 👍☺
Another lovely restoration rob :)
Great video like the color turned out great
You got some goodies with this Porsche!
Nice Porsche custom Rob 👍 Can you make Porsche 911 custom Gulf blue color?
Nice work rob .
I really like Siku cars:)
Great job awesome video
would have been nice in old fashioned orange or Porsche green to. the targa top was Always black. i would have kept the skinny wheels because the early ones had those.
Nice but rear grill can be black
❤ this Porsche
Cool
came out nice
Beautiful!
