    I think I gave you some previous advice on first cleans from the transition from traditional window cleaning. You must use a garden tap and hose reel connecting to your pole and brush and wash and flush out to cleanse the glass and seals and window frames you can turn the tap on higher flow to flush out...It saves your pure water.. do the whole house, by the time you have finished you can start from your first set of windows using pure water.. first time takes more time but saves complaints and redoing the job and embarrassment on using pure water systems 👍👍😀

      The best water feed brush is the 12 inch tucker hybrid with the boar hair in the middle and longer nylon on the outer, with 4 pencil jets, the brush came with over the top rinse bar but I removed it , has the best scrubbing power and ideal rinse , I i use it on all my jobs, you get better rinse having the 4 pencil jets per square inch of converage and you can angle and control water into the corners, very good at heights less fatigue and more responsive because its lighter, also its handling hot water at 70 plus degrees at the brush head , trust me do your self a favour and buy one , I've cut my cleaning time down using this brush , time is money and that's why you have invested in your set up.. for an extra cost , it will pay for itself in the first days..😀👍 I'm here to help on advice without doing videos

    On first cleans I clean the top frame and vent, rinse it and move onto the next window and do the same thing,I then return to the first window allowing drip time and clean the glass/ side frames etc. On regular cleans I just go over the vents without the water flowing, I find a wet brush cleans them and you don’t need to allow drip time.

    Do you think it’s a better idea to invest in a water fed pole and gutter cleaning pole to clean your own windows and clear the moss away from sitting in the gutters OR pay a window cleaner every 6wks to use a water fed pole to clean your UPVC frames and windows and every 6 months clean your gutters. My window cleaner said I’ll clean your windows and frames and clean the gutters, including the outside of the gutter and facia boards for £80. It’s a 3 bedroom end terrace house. Thanks.

      The hardest and most expensive part is probably producing your own pure water. It wouldn’t really be worth it just for your own use. It would be a lot of expense to get the kit needed to do everything you said and it would take quite a while to get your money back in savings. Easier just to employ the local window/exterior cleaner

    Give it two or 3 cycles of cleaning and the vents will be clear from dirt. You could go around all the vents first and turn the brush upside down and rinse the vents out first then let them drip then go round the frame first. You’ll soon get the knack and you won’t get drops out the vents

    Blast them with water method works ok, however, care must be taken when using this method... If the vent is in the open position it can result in water leakage inside if you get too enthusiastic with the scrubbing. I use a can of pressurized air to blow the crap out on first cleans, means using your ladders downside I know but only need to do it once. Then I give them a good clean top and bottom and frames only. Then I go back to the first window and clean the glass. From there on all other cleans going forward are straightforward. Also, watch your top rubbers they can also leave runs due to trapped dirt.

      Pane in the glass I personally find this has issues too, if the brush head is anyway wet or damp you get a dirty smudge everywhere. Grrr vents. They can drip dirty water for hours sometimes.
    One tip is to do all of the vents and allow them to drip before starting on the rest of the window.
    My method is to limit the water that touches the vent to a minimum. I will turn off the flow with the univalve. And then wipe it clean with the damp brush and then rinse around the frame but not on or above the vent so nearly no water gets into the vent. Works well for me.
    Just never turn your brush upwards with the flow on or the vent will drip for ages!
    I wonder if pencil jets are better than fan jets for this?

      Yes, there were some really great ideas in the comments. I find that it’s best to try and avoid spraying water up into the vents if you can, angling the brush so one jet goes above the vent and one goes underneath. Keeping the brush angled down slightly also helps, and allowing the bristles to get the dirt out. Sometimes it’s worth spending a bit more time on the first clean, then you can be confident that it will be ok for each clean after that.😃👍🏼

    England is much different than America in terms of window cleaning! It is very rare that a residential client gets done routinely here. I’ve scheduled a lot of annually clients, but that might as well be a first time clean every year… that being said, I’ve never seen these vents, but have the same problem with dirt coming out of sills.

    Could you try some sort of vacuum attachment, to try and suck out the dirt as much as possible first from vent, before cleaning?
    Using a strong vac, with some sort of suitable attachment, might help alot, in pulling dirt.
    If maybe you could find a vacuum attachment, that is the lengh of the vent, so it is pulling across all of it.
    Just a thought.

    Fan jets over spray especially on windy days, , its all about direct flow rates pushing the dirt downwards , I'm actually rinsing off quicker because direct flow over 4 jets on an area , you don't have to repeatedly go over the glass as opposed to stagnant flow over the glass, there are so many guys out there that are trying to conserve water, and going over the same piece of glass using more time and water, but the Tucker brush with the 4 pencil jets is quicker and the glasss is flushed out with greater direct flow... think about it ??

  • @aqua6410
    @aqua6410 3 роки тому +1

    Once you get them clean it’s easy to keep on top of the vents. We all so wipe the bottom window vents with a rag at the end for the first couple of cleans. The top windows we give them all a real good wash out then go back to them once we have completed all the top windows making sure you only clean the glass and not the vent at the end. This way it gives chance for those drips to drip down. Or wash them all out then put a rag on the end of the pole to help dry them out then rinse the glass down again. We only go to this length on the first cleans if the vents are really dirty. Once your on top of them it’s easy. And they look so much better. Nothing worse than having a gleaming windows and frames and dirty dusty vents.

  • @DaveB324
    @DaveB324 4 роки тому +1

    You don't want to be squirting water in the vents as they vent into the house and have had drips inside the windows in the past.
    Turn the univalve off and scrub the outside of the vent like you would with a cloth trad and then clean the window like normal.
    I rinse on the glass even on first cleans with a high flow and have no issues.
    Still looks perfectly clean.

Another windie cleans house couple houses down and didn't touch the vents which are always black . Once clean never have to push much water into the vents as the dirt's out . If vents are shut the water will go inside the profile of the window and run out the bottom through drainage and not inside . Maybe ask the customer? Clean vents with maybe a drip or Two if your unlucky or black vents ?
