I rediscovered this song lately after I downloaded Ultravox's album "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" to listen to it in the gym... And this song is THE SHIT! It recharges me like I'm on steroids! The force is strong with this one.
It was the precursor to Band Aid 'Do they know it's Christmas' (same notes when they say "feed the world" and "give us this day") and also my favourite Ultravox song. So my secret name for it is 'Do they know it's Christmas 1982' 😂

I just had the luck of not turning off my car radio for a change. It told me the name of this great song i always loved hearing but never knew the title of. I also kept forgetting about it before i could google the lyrics 🎉
Midge directed all their videos. Back then he was quoted as saying he wouldn't be found doing his old songs when old and grey and that he would be behind the camera directing films.
I never tire of hearing this, my favourite along with The Voice live. Of course Vienna is awesome and a defining song of the 80s but this will be the song to see me on my last journey. ❤❤
I saw Midge as student in Sheffield - he was warming up for a tour and trying out his set under a random pseudonym We bought tickets for a few quid to see (what we thought) was going to be a crappy amateur singer. What a night that was!!
Hopefully a remastered blu-ray release of the music videos & any live footage comes out after the amazing deluxe albums are released (Lament, U-Vox & Brilliant still to come with any luck?)
I think this is the best of the great videos Ultravox made, especially seeing the manic grin of the supremely talented Chris Cross, rest in peace, when he briefly gets the command he so wanted
Islington Screen on the Green is a single screen cinema facing Islington Green in the London Borough of Islington, London. The current building was opened in 1913 and it is one of the oldest continuously running cinemas in the UK. I'm sure that helps us enjoy the video even more.
Ooh the sheer naughtiness, imagine burning the contract from Levi's that Midge and Chris had when their second version of an advert for the jeans was knocked back so they took their song back and created Loves Great Adventure.
It reminds me of when Bill & Ted were in hell, and had to choose which version of hell they wanted to live in!. These characters learned the lesson here, be careful what you wish for.. 😩
Just heard. Shocked. RIP Chris Cross. Thank you for the music.

❤ same feeling indeed
Ultravox are insanely brilliant and timeless.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
its easier to spirtually sell your soul morals and principals for success these days than it was then this video was made
Literal or metaphorical, many have done so.
RIP Chris. Stunned when I heard the news.🥺
😢😢😢😢
The soundtrack of my youth. I still listen to ultravox forty years+ after.
from mid 70's to 80's the best time for world music ever.
One of my favorites... And this song is more relevant than ever.
You're not wrong and it becomes more obvious every day.
RIP Chris Cross

Timless! I wish we from the other side of the Wall had perceived more of the message.
Fabulous song , loved it when released, still love it now...Oliver Tobias who plays the devil had the looks to be a James Bond as well.

Great song, great video. Remastered HD? same as all the other versions on youtube?
One of best videos for a song of all time if not best ❤❤❤
Oliver tobias when he looks up at the camera..about 4:00..looks like a young John Travolta
Great piece full of meaning.

Enigmatico

Cover rifatta dagli Edguy. 🤘🤘
What I'm wondering is, did you want to ingratiate yourself with the Freemasons or was it already part of the contract?
#love #song #and #video
❤
danke, geiler scheiß!
I will never sell my morals
It reminds me of when Bill & Ted were in hell, and had to choose which version of hell they wanted to live in!.
These characters learned the lesson here, be careful what you wish for.. 😩
A few years earlier, Oliver Tobias starred in "The Stud", as a manager selling out to a wealthy hedonist. This video, he plays the "Devil."
The joke from Father Ted makes a lot more sense now.
People who crop the image to 16:9 if not necessary deserve a punishment.
Why was this video band for 20 years?
How this vid reminds me of Blair and now Starmer lol
2024. 9 of December From Panamá City. I prepare to come all Forces God. Don't believe in chuches.
