You are a lucky Mom, and having said that, your family won the lottery when they received you as a Mom and wife. I just finished watching your last day at the Farmhouse on Boone house and I am in awe of what you have accomplished in short periods of time. I also finished watching your newest tour of your current home. Martha Stewart has nothing on you. I do not know how you get it all done!! You do so many things in a day it is astounding. I, for one, want to tell you how talented, kind, special and amazing you are. You inspire me and I am single!! I wonder what the heck I am doing with my day after watching you. That was such a sweet moment to capture of you nursing your baby and your toddler snuggling you! I had 3 kids in 2.5 years and I feel like that was my constant for so long! I wish I had more footage of it, it's such a sweet time

I absolutely love the faint background noise, there is nothing more inspiring to me than the sound of a full, imperfect house. It helps me to appreciate the joyous sound of my own children filling up our walls with life and laughter ❤️

In England, we traditionally eat crumpets with salted butter and a pot of tea 😊
In Australia it's quite common to eat them with honey. A treat-variation I came up with is crumpet, honey, scoop of vanilla icecream and dust it with cinnamon. It's amazing. I do a vegan version now and it's just as delicious.

@sarahedgar8812 we always have golden syrup on crumpets, and butter of course.
Crumpets are a favourite afternoon treat here in England where we toast them and have them with butter. The holes allow the hot melted butter to soak in and they are perfect for a cold winter afternoon with a pot of tea.
This California girl thinks that afternoon tea and crumpets sound utterly delightful!

You reminded me of myself many years ago. I was just like that. Got tired of seeing the furniture in the same place. I’d change everything around. Took down pictures, put up different ones. I found when I did this I could do a good cleaning too. Now at 73 n it just being myself n the dog it’s just become my last thing to do on my list. I wish I still had that incentive to do again.

When I have "extra" carrots... I throw them in the freezer, bag and all. I think they've been washed before packaged. When I'm ready, I don't defrost. I wash them when they're frozen hard. Because I freeze them fresh, the skins are tender so I leave the skins on. Cut to size and use them for soups or pot roast or crockpot chicken. Freezing makes the raw, whole carrots soft, so I wouldn't think they'd be good for grating after freezing. If you want grated carrots for cakes or quick breads, I'd grate then freeze. 💖🌞🌵😷

This was so special watching you nurse while the other babies played and crawled on you. One thing that I noticed, while you were chopping veggies, your cutting board kept moving. If you put a folded towel underneath the board will not move. It is dangerous for the board to move while cutting. Just want you to be safe.
I use a slightly damp towel underneath when kneading bread lol life-changing!!
Your children are so blessed by you and your husband. Being together during the cold winter days; baking, cooking, refreshing your space. Here in the middle of Nebraska we have been freezing as well but fortunately will be having what we consider a "heat wave" in the next week with temperatures in the 50's!! Good morning! 😊 I made rolls last night, which allowed me to make egg/bacon sandwiches for packing to go bags for the family heading to work. The loaf I made last night will be sliced, spreading (summer made)pesto on top then shredded cheese to bake for a side with dinner. Dessert was baked last night - lemon blueberry pound cake (blueberries frozen from summer harvest). We’re in a 4 day straight warm front with rain so no one wants winter soup, opting for several small meals so I am cleaning out some summer garden vegetables from the freezer. I love eating without having to go to the grocery store! ❤
One thing I do when my area rug gets tattered is rotate it. Luckily last time it happened, the tattered bit got rotated under the couch and the presitine bit that was under the couch came out of hiding to be in it's glory! 💖🌞🌵😷

March 19th is officially the first day of Spring. I can't wait, I'm already tired of winter 😢.

I live in Canada, -10 C is a warm day here. A few weeks ago we reached -40 C with a -50 C wind chill. That was horrible, even for here. Now we have spring weather and it is melting, and +10 C outside. I would love to have your winters, ours are so harsh here.

I tried doing sauerkraut with caraway seeds, salt and whey and it changed my life 😂 I will never go back to just using salt. The why jump starts the fermentation process and you use less salt. I got the recipe from nourishing traditions. I can’t wait to ferment more things this season because I’m hooked! I prefer small batches as well.
I've never seen somebody cook so beautifully as you do in the whole YT and I have seen countless cooking videos. In fact, it is what I watch most.

I started watching your channel at the beginning of this year, and it has been SUCH an encouragement in my life! Being in my 50’s with married children, adult children, teenage children and grandchildren, I do not want to loose my love of homemaking and homeschooling after all these years doing both. The love you show in your own life for these things is inspiring! Your style of videos are easy to listen to and watch - and I have enjoyed every one I have watched so far. I am working my way through your playlists ☺️ I just started sourdough last year (ours is GF because of celiac disease) and I have learned so much about it from you. Being from Minnesota and loving the winter, I've been grieving it the last month or so! We have no snow and the weather has been unseasonably warm (it will get down to -20* every January for periods of time and this year it's gotten to -10* for a few days but mostly been in the 40s and 50s!). We love being outside and you can tell the snow lovers here don't really know what to do since it's such a bizarre year! People here love to ski, snowshoe, ice fish, snowmobile , cold plunge, sauna... But it's been a real weird year for that (like you can't snowshoe or ski on grass, and the ice isn't as thick as normal so it's not as safe to walk on). It feels like May here and I honestly feel like we skipped a large part of our year where we were meant to be inside with candles, slippers, hot cacao and garden planning, when we can go run outside barefoot right now. Hah I'm not complaining, I just think it's really interesting how different our winters have been a few states away. It's interesting since I've gotten used to and appreciated the normal ebb and flow of the seasons, so it's throwing me off this year. Last year we had record snowfall though so you just never do know.

Just from a bread baker, with your starter, water temp can make a huge difference. Like in summer we use ice cold water, because of temp it’ll still do it’s thing but it’s less likely to over ferment or over prove, in winter we use warmer water, you just can’t use boiling to keep higher temp so it doesn’t go into a state called retardation. This goes for the doughs itself as well and applies to all bread 🙂

We always had crumpets on Christmas morning as a special treat. Yes, butter and jam on top! The bubbles make lovely channels in the crumpets and the butter and jam soak all through.

I grew up in the age when it was cool to shun motherhood etc. Fast forward, thankfully I have two sons in their 20s whom I love dearly. I wish i had had more children but left it too late as I didn't appreciate motherhood and home life . Having children and raising them is the absolutely best thing xxx
