How to Graft Fig Trees! Results at the End!

Fig trees are some of the most entertaining trees to graft, simply because there are so many varieties of figs. Different flavors and ripening seasons are some of the main reasons why it's a good idea to graft as many varieties as you can to one tree. Plus, fig trees tend to receive grafts amazingly well.
These grafts were done in late January 2022. Weather was between 45 degrees and 85 degrees F these last few weeks. As long as fig buds are starting to wake up, and there is no threat of frost or freeze, you can graft figs. For us here in Southern California, that is mid to late winter into early spring.

Great upload AJ !! that tree gonna be awesome!!! i have also a fig tree ..i did clone a brench.. it rooted and grows fine.. i go bring it to my parents house in France .. so they have a Dutch fig tree .. and in future eat the fruits .. rich in nutriets ,vitamines etc

I have a question, can I graft onto a grafted tree (Cherimoya), and add grafts to grafts, or should I start a new rootstock, and turn those branches into their own grafts?

Congrats. When doing that modified cleft graft and all the extra air pockets because of the difference in sizes between the scion and rootstock, how do you seal it up? Do you just leave the air pocket and seal up the rest of it really well? Really nice grafting, AJ. Will those figs be harvested at different times? How much is the range of time for all those different varieties - like 2 months or could it be 3 months? Awesome.

Hi! I have a fig tree that is a really late Bloomer it doesn't fruit until September October. I want to grafts and branches that fruit earlier
I was worried that the roots of my main tree might be dormant for too long to sustain an earlier fruiting branch?? Is my concern valid?
